June 30Jun 30 Author frabrizio says we’re going hard after eze. i’d love that. former hale end youth player, loves arsenal, doesn’t break the bank, and fills a role we really need (plus hopefully he and nwaneri can play some backup to odegaard as well). i’d really love to sign him, big fan.
June 30Jun 30 Agree, I like the versatility that Eze offers. I had been hoping we would start hearing rumors about Arsneal looking to sign him.
July 1Jul 1 And now Ornstein is mentioning Eze, with the nugget that it wouldn't close the door on signing a RW as well. Eze, $$ RW, and a 9. That is the kind of business they should've done last summer window, or the one before or the one before that...

Summer 21, 22, and 23 and January 23 (Trossard, Kiwior, and Jorginho) were big windows. Serious cash was splashed for a club outside the CL and massive upgrades arrived. Last summer…. Not do much. A dud: Calafiori showed promise when healthy, but he was rarely healthy. Merino, signed to play left eight, became more valuable as a striker because we had neglected the position. Then January was nothing. If club was really keeping the powder dry, they need to use it now. Striker, winger, and a defender who can get play LB (or cover those who can) are all needs, and I’d like another creative MF, too.
July 4Jul 4 Author i really liked Tomi, he was a very good and versatile backup when he was healthy. can’t remember the last time he was healthy though.

July 6Jul 6 Looks like it’s Gyökeres; he’s the “win now” player at the peak of his powers vs Sesko who may have a higher ceiling in 4 years. £56m with £9-13m in performance add-ons. Leipzig reportedly want north of £80m and won’t budge. There’s also reports he wants a move to Liverpool and is willing to wait another year for them to get him. I also understand Arteta wanting the new striker to have a full preseason to get integrated into the side. Edited July 6Jul 6 by Dutch

July 6Jul 6 Author he’s a ready-made, goal scoring beast, and he looked awesome against us last year. can’t wait to have him in the team.

Not to mention a smaller fee on the 9 also allows us more room to maneuver on winger and defender deals. Also, should have thought a few years ago that £56m + 9-13m would be the bargain.
July 7Jul 7 Clive from ArsenalVision with two good points: 1. Gyökeres wants deeply to play for Arsenal. Not just a CL club. Arsenal. Sesko? Very much seems he is willing to wait and wants another club. This matters. 2. He runs and works his ass off, and has that hunger to score goals. Also… Arsenal previously signed a 27 year-old with an unconventional route to top flight football, and it worked out alright for Wrighty.

July 8Jul 8 Author we’re not gonna let nwaneri leave. we’re gonna lock that down. he wants to be here, he just wants to play. we simply need to use him off the bench with some regularity this year. i believe that will happen.
July 8Jul 8 Author the only real reason i’m posting this is to say that our listed “potential backup xi” is equal to/greater than the teams that wenger was taking to the ucl knockout stages every single year when i first became a supporter. two takeaways: 1)What Arsene Wenger did here was incredible. I cannot imagine another manager taking this club to 19 straight ucl ko stages with the asinine budgets he was given to work with. incredible. 2)the pressure is really on this year. i have been openly and extremely pleased with the job arteta has done. for us to beat City 5-1, and to dominate the defending champion madrid team 5-2 with an injury crisis and merino at striker? i could never have dreamed of arsenal doing these things before arteta. not even close. those teams used to do that to us, regularly. now we’ve done it to them. it shouldn’t be glossed over or unappreciated. and look, trophies are the ultimate goal, but finishing in the top 2 three consecutive seasons with best defense in the league and squad full of guys mostly entering (or still years away from) their primes is straight up badass. that’s on par with what sark has done at Texas, so i’ve really never understood how underwhelmed so many fans have been. this is by far the strongest the club has been during my time as a supporter. that said, we really do need to take the final step and win something this year. we’re going to have the squad depth, we’re finally going to have the striker we’ve been missing, and we’re still going to have the best defense in england and possibly all of europe. it’s got to materialize with a trophy and a parade this year. if not, then for the first time since he took over, arteta will have his most staunch advocates (me) no longer being satisfied with clear but trophyless growth. this year has got to be the breakthrough.
July 8Jul 8 Author alcaraz is easily bigger than timber lol. always kinda shocking how small soccer players are. Spoiler

July 10Jul 10 Kepa for £5m to be a backup GK? Deal. Jorg for £12m to be a midfield rotation guy and mentor to the kids? Bargain. Kai was a stretch; honestly, we overpaid. Now this dude? Chelsea is in PSR hell; why are we signing one of their rejects at full price to be a backup? Should be paying no more than £25m. Chelsea have 95 players in their squad and are in PSR hell; needs to be a discount for us to take him after their books, and even then I still don’t like the idea of reducing Ethan’s minutes. July 10Jul 10 If he wasn't a Chelsea player, people would be excited about this move. Instead of Raheem Sterling coming off the bench, Arsenal have a legitimate winger. As long as we still add someone of Eze's quality to help on the left and Gyokeres this window is about as much as anyone could ask for.
July 10Jul 10 Author list of players who arsenal fans have bitched about “costing too much” before playing a single minute under arteta: ramsdale raya rice havertz when do people stop thinking they know better than our manager/scouting team/board does, and just start trusting in their judgment? July 10Jul 10 I’ll happily eat crow if I’m wrong and will be disappointed if y’all don’t go full Surl on my ass if he’s a stud player. I’ll admit, if we were paying Brentford or Wolves £50m for a winger I wouldn’t be as hesitant. That said… IDK about this one. Berta and Arteta have a good hit rate on transfers, though. July 11Jul 11 Author we were going to pay like $90M or whatever for mudryk before chelsea swooped in and paid him messi wages to sign for them. not only did we end up with trossard, but he’s been so great that we may sell him at 30 and more or less recoup our fee. what a signing that turned out to be.
July 11Jul 11 Author i didn’t know shit about madueke before today, but after watching a bunch of videos on him the one thing i can say that he’s a much bigger threat in the final third than martinelli is, and we really really need that. again, we had 14 or 15 draws last season. we’ve had the best defense in the league three years running. we need goals, and more than that, we need players who can play their best for 5-10 crucial minutes and turn a draw into a win. gyorkores and madueke seem like those type of players. and at 23 years old he ls still entering his prime. i’m pumped about this signing. if we somehow add eze or (highly unlikely) rodrygo this summer, there’s no way anyone can say that we haven’t gone all out to address our goal scoring issues both immediately and for the future. this summer has been a *solid* 7/10 already, with potential to go up should we wrap up mosquera, and one of eze or rodrygo. lfg.

Yup. Trossard is/was hands-down one of the club’s best signings, an absolute bargain for what we paid vs what he produced. Wish him nothing but the best.
July 11Jul 11 Author his dribbling and skill is what really stands out. he routinely takes on 2-3 players and gets past them and into the box where he can create something by dangerous. this is exactly what we need- an aggressive, speedy, super skillful player who plays directly an who goes after goals/creating chances. it’s pretty clear why we’ve signed him. he’s got what martinelli doesn’t, plus he can spell saka from time to time, which we all agree is much needed. again, i’m pumped. get pumped with me: he seriously dribbles like santi, ozil, alexis, etc. i’ve been missing that type of flair big time since arteta took over.
July 12Jul 12 Author we have the worst fans in the premier league. what’s crazy is that if you take away the english gooners you take away 90% of this bullshit. they are by far the worst ones. shit is stupid.
July 12Jul 12 Author i’ve been trying to tell you about these other fans in this forum. some of them hate us (you and me) like we all raped and pillaged their villages and homes. like you and me personally did that to them. and it’s got their views towards all things arsenal coming out just as batshit insane as the maga cultists who will blame the camp mystic tragedy on democrats manipulating the weather. totally emotionally unhinged and fanatical. the latest? arsenal is baylor now. yeah, we exclusively recruit, sign, and play rapists, all of our coaches and board members are satan in human form, and our club goes to great lengths to not only protect its many many rapist players, but we also bend over backwards to re-traumatize the women that our players are incessantly raping. that’s us. that’s the club that all of us are in here celebrating. you, me, all of us- we are complicit pieces of shit for supporting such evil. i wish i were joking. i can tell from reading the room that none of y’all want to get involved in any of this, but this is a bridge too far. tonight we have all been accused of supporting the baylor of the epl. we have been told that we are complicit. do you take that lightly? i do not. in fact i disavow all of that insane shit. speak up, stay silent, whatever. y’all do you. i’m not finna sit around being told that i support a culture of rape and just act like that’s ok. fuck all of that, and fuck anyone pushing such a ludicrous and tone deaf narrative.
