the chicks in our UT sports get this. Why don’t the dudes?  Cuz clearly our gals have no problems winning MNCs

Huh?

Granted I mostly follow the Volleyball and Softball teams but both of those teams have shittons of problems winning NCs (nothing mythical about them). It was never easy.

The softball team finally won one after how many trips to the Regionals? How many years of heartbreak and frustration?

I think it was a function of our pitching staff not being able to get it done. This whole it was hitting or psychology stuff doesn't hold water to me. The position players did enough to win that regional. The pitching just wasn't there.

Duke going to Omaha (maybe) wasn’t something I had in my bingo card

After last watching the Ladies win, the college games are……are….

This has been the best series so far.  I'm rooting for the Beavs but I wouldn't mind it going 3.

Mitch C was my choice for a new coach, but CDC overruled me.  How long before Arch Aplin (of aggy fame) tries to sue OSU for having a beaver logo?

3-2 curveball that you don't come close to getting over is a choice

Beavers did it in the 9th yesterday

Game 3 tomorrow.

The ad wizards at espn have scheduled the other two game 3s tomorrow for the same time.

What's up with the blue they're wearing?  It looks about 3 shades too dark.

Yep.

meep-meeps "just happy to be there" and "mission accomplished taking out TEXAS!" -- I wouldn't be surprised if they folded like a cheap suit and mailed-in Game 2.

FUCK them!

Yeah…no.  There was very little from UTSA during the week about Texas.  They have bigger fish to fry, mainly, getting their administration to provide them facilities.  I saw three interviews from Coach Hallmark this week and that was the focus, not UT.  They don’t think that way.

The first two innings of the game last night they were incredibly aggressive and punched UCLA in the face, not what a team happy to be there would have done.  UCLA’s pitching was better, which isn’t surprising because that is one of UTSA’s weaker areas as they lost their best pitcher last year to Texas.

Just because they lost or lose, doesn’t mean they were going through the motions and happy to be there.  The more you know Coach Hallmark, the more you will see that was not part of it.

Honestly- you hate that because you care about the sport.
for attracting casual viewers?  Not a bad choice. With 3 games going on at once- all win or die- if one of the games sucks it allows you to bounce to another one, and if they are all compelling you can whip around. Be interesting to see how they handle that window. It’s what makes the hoops tournament great.

Yeah, it's pretty shitty that any time a texas team loses some people go to the excuse that the other team really wanted to beat us bad because we're Texas.  As if that excuses anything anyway.

And we're off.  Zona and Miami both go down scoreless in top 1.

Duke-Murray State are also playing Game 2 this window

This misprint almost had me calling around to see who had an active Espn Bet account.

image.png.4be266cc9fafd9bdd20005d7375030be.png

HR for Zona off a hanging curve, just fair and just got out.  1-0

Crazy to me that Miami is trying to make the CWS for the first time since 2016 and UCLA since 2013.

Murray State up 3-2 after 1 but leaves the bases loaded

They didn’t win because they went all in or whatever. They were straight up better.

There was a stat posted during the ucla game yesterday that they lead the NCAA in batting average, home runs, rbi when hitters have two strikes. That’s a coaching and mentality thing not a “beat Texas” thing.

I mean we went 4-33 or something with RISP. They were better those two days or their results were better or whatever. We had a shitload of people on base all weekend and didn’t capitalize. That’s baseball.
I’m going to go ahead and say that the team that won the SEC by 3 games is probably better than them, but you have to do it on the field every day and we didn’t.

Shit, I remember UCLA's Gary Adams years where they'd have multiple first round picks and have a losing record.

They won 45 games and beat us everytime we played. They are clearly better.

Yeah but Flores and Gaspardo had to be like 0-27 of those opportunities

Murray State (86% acceptance rate) leads Duke (7%) 8-3 in the 4th.

Now 10-3. Duke throwing meat.

So it’s your contention that they would have won the sec by 4 games?

Lucas Moore (Louisville) 50/51 in SB this year. That seems good. Make it 51/52.

Miami 2

Louisville 2

B5, Louisville 2 on, 1 out.

Arizona home run gets a banana suck thing in the dugout?

It’s my contention that the team that was 3-0 against us was better than us.

Are we still pretending the SEC was any good?

They were clearly better than we were in those games. We peaked way too early. Or something.

So- Missouri was better than aggy, right?  They went 3-0 against them.
2022 astros won 107 games and the World Series. Baltimore won 55 games. They were 6-1 against the Astros. Clearly they were better.

Which is what I said- it’s baseball. You have to do it on the field but anything can happen.

I’m not gonna argue with you in this thread but I’ll just say, UTSA is still playing, won 45 games, only lost 4 conference games and won every game they played against us. Your comparison to Mizzou is clown shit. Your comparison to MLB baseball is even more so.

If we were “better” then they wouldn’t have kicked our ass every chance they got.

Good day.

Just starting my Sunday watching.

dont know if this has been mentioned but the Louisville bat girls in the white dresses are a nice touch. Don’t know about the faces due to camera focus but the bodies look on point.

Bravo.

I still can never get over how you can see cars driving by behind home plate at Louisville's stadium.

I just see people.
