His Dad played at aggy and for the Dodgers. It was a lot bigger than that, and very heavily padded. Very flat. Easy transfer, probably hard to scrape a ball off the ground. A lot like this Less of a pocket, because I guess that's an outfielder's glove And before you snide lil whippersnappers chirp up, this was in the 80s. Our 2B played a small HOH Wingtip, but he'd broken it it in so flat it probably played really similar. They were the two best players on our team./csb Edited June 4Jun 4 by TwiceHorn

June 4Jun 4 Joe Morgan, one of the greatest second baseman of all time, used a very small glove like most second baseman did or still do.

Not just small, but a very shallow pocket, really shallower than shown there. I never played any infield except 3B, but the two guys mentioned above basically caught most things two-handed and used the glove to kind of "knock down" the ball to have it drop into their meat hand for the throw. Especially apparent with Jamie's really old school glove.

In the stadium, as I watched it I said he's fucking going to run that down. he actually didn't really have to dive. he caught it while he was running and dove just to help him stop. Beast of a play and was absolutely the dagger to our hearts. That ended it.
