It’s hard to remember so I’m mo longer sure, but I have the shirt to prove it Yes we won the conference title and that's great. But we also have done that 80 other times. To be a great UT team you go to Omaha. The regular season was successful, but that's just part of it.

June 2Jun 2 It is also kind of bizarre to look at all the runs we have given up in this Regional and turn around and blame the hitting.

June 2Jun 2 UTSA is the better team. We didn’t get beat by a team that got hot for a weekend or beat us with a bunch of bleeders and bloop hits. I don’t know if that makes it sting less or more but I hate that this weekend is going to be the taste left in our mouth when there was a lot of good this year. May be my last comment for a few days as I decompress from this but the simplest way to sum it up is this team just ran out of gas.

June 2Jun 2 What happened to Chance Covert? He is removed from the website and there is nothing about him transferring.

June 2Jun 2 I'd like to see individual BA for the 1st 20 games and the last 20 of the regular season. We know what happened with Spencer and Ruger. Pitching was playing above its head on the whole. The offense just began a long slow hemorrhage that really hasn't recovered. IMO, the offense and the defense were equally guilty. I'm not overly bent, but I think Schloss is the guy and will get it done.
June 2Jun 2 It’s pretty freaking amazing that we won the SEC with this squad. Deficient at two or three positions defensively (especially after the Mendoza injury), you can make an argument that we only had one or two legit starting pitchers even before Spencer got hurt. The fall-off of Gaspo and Flores was unexpected and painful. I feel bad for those two guys, especially Flores. Schloss and Weiner did a great job this year, with the exception of these two games against UTSA. That being said, we make a few plays defensively in the first game and they’re the ones facing elimination tonight, not us.
June 2Jun 2 You know, as bad as we look, utsa is actually a damn good baseball team. They have won 3 more games than we have. It sucks that we’ve regressed so badly, but they know how to win.

You may have some lucky bounces to win a few games but your general ineptitude of scoring runs will catch up to you.
June 2Jun 2 Nothing about flaming out in the Regional is surprising to anyone who understands the game, really knew what they were looking at all season, and knows what it takes to consistently perform at a high level when it counts. We saw this coming and called it weeks and weeks ago, back when we were on a roll. The team that caught lightning in a bottle and won the SEC was the imposter. The team we watched all May and now in the Regionals accurately reflects their makeup and their ceiling. Better luck next year.

Schloss apparently coached these guys up, but ultimately, they're just not that good. Schloss filled some holes in the staff with good pulls from the portal, and the old standbys stepped up here and there, but we never really had a dependable staff outside a handful of guys.
June 2Jun 2 I don’t know. I get the feeling that UTSA will get crushed in the supers like when Tech upset us in football in 2008. They played their Super Bowl against us and happily spread their cheeks for OU to buttfuck them.
