May 28May 28 I know, I know the title is from the 2nd Movie and the song is from the 3rd (though technically the 1st in the order they happen), but it works too well. Transfer news, summer tour and hey guess what? We're playing for another trophy August 13th!!! COYS!!!
May 28May 28 Author Who will coach Spurs next year? Likely Postecoglou, but we will see. But it looks like they won't have Mason on the bench anymore, it appears he is in advanced talks with West Brom. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2025/05/27/west-brom-manager-ryan-mason-talks-tottenham-hotspur/
May 28May 28 Author I mentioned the preseason schedule - we have: Newcastle during the Asian tour (S. Korea), Arsenal (July 31) and Bayern Munich (Aug 7) The Super Cup is going to be Aug 13 in Udinese.
May 28May 28 if we want trophies gotta assume we gonna be ass in the league again we was in a semi and a final. 17th and hovering relegation is def not ideal. But I’ll take 5th-10th and 2 finals a year For the next 2 years. After that, then we can go back to a manager that wants to do good in everything. But we dont give out the money to compete in everything. We gotta pick and choose with levy in charge

The pretzel twisting that the biggest Arsenal fans are doing in the EPL thread is so fucking funny. Oh it's a joke trophy, you still finished 17th, we had more injuries that anyone in the history of the world .... What a bunch of fucking aggys. We got a trophy, they haven't gotten shit in years and are getting slagged by their own (Henry) - L fucking O fucking L. You know what the last few years have taught me? I don't hate teams, i hate their fans. Every team here has pretty cordial fans, except Arsenal, they act like dicks, so they can suck dick. I know some cool Arsenal fans IRL, they are fun to talk to and make talking the sport fun. Liverpool, Chelsea for the most part pretty cool. So yeah, anything to get their panties in a bind (and clearly that's not hard with some of them).
May 29May 29 My buddy is a Arsenal fan. For the better part of a decade I've taken his constant pokes at our lack of a trophy from him and the Liverpool buddy. I gave it all back to him last week and he can't take it and is pouting.

May 29May 29 Arsenal fans, and one in particular, is the reason why I abandoned the EPL season thread. The constant bitching was too much; e.g. referees v Arsenal. I had enough. Wenger complaining that the Europa Champions get a UCL spot was fun.
May 30May 30 https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c9wgxkkq1pzo West Brom officially approach Tottenham for Ryan Mason.
May 30May 30 Author We might see Davies on Season 4 of Welcome to Wrexham? Unknown. There is word that they are negotiating on a deal. https://cartilagefreecaptain.sbnation.com/2025/5/30/24439940/tottenham-hotspur-transfer-news-rumors-ben-davies-wrexham-championship-free-transfer But 2 things: 1. The source isn't super reliable (Football Insider) 2. Spurs were supposedly going to exercise the team option for next year. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5952155/2024/11/27/tottenham-ben-davies-contract-extension/ So we will see what happens here.
June 1Jun 1 Twitters is a buzz with Ange being sacked. Not shocking. Just don't know where we go from here. I still think he should get another year. Most fans back him from what I can tell. The players seem to love him Edited June 1Jun 1 by midtown
June 1Jun 1 Sack a manger before a cup final. Sack a manger after winning a cup final. Yup that checks out.
June 1Jun 1 Author Sounds like they are pushing a decision until later this week. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2025/05/31/ange-postecoglou-tottenham-future-decided-next-week/

June 2Jun 2 How does Levy not look in the mirror and understand what everyone seems to see? Yes. It's the best financilly run club in the world. But we also want to win

June 5Jun 5 Author What the hell is the club doing? They can’t let this Ange decision linger. Shit like this is why Spurs are one of the worst run clubs in the league.

Sigh not great, but justified. not to beat a dead horse, but if we lost the europa final it shouldn't be that big of a debate as it relates to ange specifically. 78 points from 66 matches over two seasons is just not good enough - regardless of how shambolic the front office is. will be forever grateful to ange for the trophy and look forward to having this same discussion about who our next manager should be with everyone again in 18 months.

It's almost like we don't have a roster built to compete on multiple fronts, especially if winning a trophy is the goal.

We just told everyone out there that one spot above relegation isn't good enough. Europa isn't the mountaintop, it's an honor, but it's not the EPL title, and certainly not Champions League. Ange's record outside of his first 10 matches wasn't good. Thanks for Europa, but it was the EPL form that got him sacked. Reports coming out that his coaching staff and medical staff were at odds. It's predictable that the club would leak these kind of stories after moving on, but if there's any truth to it, one side has to move on, if not both. I would imagine the club had exit interviews with everyone and the players provided some candid feedback. Based on that, Ange was out.
June 6Jun 6 I'm just not really that excited about alternative options. Is Thomas Frank really going to be the guy that gets us back to the top 5?
June 6Jun 6 I would've rather kept Ange. Either the team improves next year or we suck again, we sack him, and maybe there are better options available. I personally like the coach at Brighton, but has only had 1 year in the premier league. Next year, after two years of consistency maybe he's worth a shot. Or maybe there's a standout candidate from elsewhere in Europe.
June 6Jun 6 I'm impartial. I think he should have gotten another year but I also understand 17th even with injuries isn't acceptable

June 8Jun 8 Lots of reports from good sources that Thomas Frank has told Brentford he wants to go to Tottenham.
June 9Jun 9 Fabrizio and Matt Law reporting that Tottenham is close to appointing Thomas Frank. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2025/06/09/tottenham-on-verge-of-appointing-thomas-frank-as-new-head-c/ Edited June 9Jun 9 by Schulz2.0
