Because I had CFA about a year ago, and the fries were damned near inedible. Just limp slabs of potato.

Don’t touch anything but their breakfast Used to be consistently cheap and good. It's been a while, but the last few times I went, it seemed overpriced and dried-out. There was a time, before the advent of Starbucks, that McDonald's was the one place where you could find reliably tasty (for the time) coffee. On long trips within Texas or on the interstates, it was a lifesaver. Coming back one morning from camping in Big Bend, I swore undying loyalty to the franchise after hitting the McD's in Fort Stockton. But now that high-quality, fresh-ground coffee is easier to find than fake boobs in Hollywood, I can say, "I've changed, baby. You've stayed the same."

June 3Jun 3 3. Fix your goddamn soft serve/shake machines already. They finally escaped the contract that only allowed one company to service the machine

First CFA I’ve had in over a year
June 3Jun 3 I like the CFA Cobb salad. Salads are healthy, even when they're covered in chicken nuggets and ranch dressing. Right? RIGHT?

I remember many years ago, working a case in Tulsa. There's a restaurant called the Wild Fork in Utica square -- still there, still really good. We went one night, and the special was a fried catfish salad. Two fillets, two hushpuppies, topped with tartar sauce, on a small bed of lettuce. It was fucking BRILLIANT, because that night, when I called my wife to touch base, she asked "so what'd you have for dinner?", I could answer truthfully, "oh, we just went to the Wild Fork and I had a salad." Goddamned genius menu move right there.

He did say "trying to watch what you eat" - which is fair. Just saying splitting that isn't a lot of food. Also - I'm showing $6.19 for a 2 cheeseburger meal. What's another medium drink - $1.79 or something?

June 4Jun 4 The McNugget Tangy BBQ sauce is fucking delicious. I've got a couple of those and a couple of Chick-Fil-A Sweet & Spicy Srirachas rolling around in my console.
June 4Jun 4 I will crush their cheeseburgers. The bacon egg and cheese biscuit is legit…and the hash browns…on point. Talked about the fountain coke in another thread…best in town.
June 4Jun 4 The only time I ever go to McDonald's is for breakfast on a road trip. 2 egg mcmuffins, hash brown, medium OJ. Not sure I've eaten anything from there other than those items in the past 25 years.

June 4Jun 4 It’s not anyone’s personality. There’s better options for similar prices, with the fast food inflation going on. It’s quick, it’s nostalgic, it’s consistent. Wendy’s has a better burger. McD has the better breakfast. Chick fil a has better chicken, assuming you don’t want to go to Popeyes and throw hands

June 4Jun 4 Never much cared for it for the longest time but got a Whopper one time after work and began liking them again.
June 4Jun 4 The "ghost McDonalds" or the ones where you're greeted by 4 kiosks and no humans behind the counter have turned me off to McDonalds as a whole. Those franchise locations must be where they send the most worthless of all McD employees. The last one I stopped at was disgusting, half the soda options were out of syrup, no straws no ketchup cups, tables sticky and filthy. And my food took longer than a Whataburger at 215am. They deliver food to your table, but your drink cup is empty and you get no napkins, etc. So anyone has to immediately get up anyway and go right back to where the employee came from and stock up. The whole operation is fucking stupid.

My last two times in Love field I've hit up Chili's for a burger. Both times it was a perfect airport meal. Sit at the bar instead of waiting in the absurd Whataburger or Chik Fil A line or whatever. $15 and in and out in 20 mins. As far as fast-food value and burgers go P. Terry's is usually my go to. A double cheeseburger combo add japs, extra side of special sauce and a banana bread is $13 even.
