Are you referencing the post you quoted, or other chatter?

Because, assuming Freeman and Moroknek sign, Williams is the second-most productive (and most at Texas) OF on the roster... Robbins seems to be legit, Peterson is older, but hasn't contributed, and then there are three freshmen.

Otherwise, with those 37 guys, we're an injury to Tinney, Robbins, or Williams away from being in a very difficult spot. Pack (32 overall, 5th OF), Monsour (229), and Monsour (242) are all highly-rated though.

Post I quoted. He has been insistent since the portal opened and lineup postulation began that Williams is not part of the equation

Looking through some final stats, I don't think enough appreciation is being given to the fact that Adrian Rodriguez played the second half of the season with basically one hand and only batting left-

He will be part of the equation, but he has to come back to baseball healthy, and there is going to be a ramp-up period. He probably isn't just going to walk across I-35 in late January after not doing baseball for 4-5 months and be ready to start a few weeks later in the opener at San Diego.

There are just a lot of moving parts with him that it probably is safer to make him a luxury more than a necessity in terms of roster building/projection.

Well I certainly hope not, that sounds quite dangerous

The guy with the mom who got mad that Schloss yelled at her son is back at A&M (somehow, I’m assuming it’s the juco ruling thing)

He's only, like, 276 months old.

Yup. Like moths to a flame the cringe finds them

Obviously of fans of Texas, we would consider this a bad decision

But maybe the guy is just ready to stop playing school and go play ball full time.

Freeman will be 23 in November, very likely a key factor in his decision.

Larson (above) seems to be an upgrade.

Not a good decision. I heard Moroknek is signing for more than this.

He was drafted because they had a deal.  He is older, can take the bonus, and not have to go to school.  Hopefully, it works out for him.  Sounds like the staff was prepared.

That would need to pretty much be the only reason, because from what I understand, he was going to be well taken care of from a NIL standpoint.

Oh well, I think we will end up okay. There are some interesting JUCO/portal options still out there I know we are kicking the tires on.

Money aside, a 24 year old player in High A is never going to be seen or treated as a prospect. Even 23 is pushing it to adjust to professional pitchers

Bus rides vs "cleat chasers".  You're right, I do consider it a bad decision. BWDIK?

2147 is notorious for being idiotic when it comes to real life life shit. He still thinks Tanner is our Friday night conference starter. His ‘sources’ have proven time & again to royally suck.

Actually, it's the opposite when you are going to be a senior. Seniors have zero draft leverage, so you often see them sign for pennies (the signing bonuses for seniors are like 5-10k).

So you are basically weighing going back to school to collect a NIL paycheck and sign for pennies next year vs taking the six-figure signing bonus now.

Freeman and Moroknek are going to have to really want to sign because I don't see any team paying up for guys with their profiles. Both are already 22 (Freeman will be 23 in a few months) and have the competition level question mark, especially Freeman since he was previously at Auburn and did nothing.

Nailed it.

What is inaccurate about either of those statements?

Both obviously had strong desires to sign and take the professional payday now instead of the NIL payday and being no leverage seniors. Neither was taken in the top 10 rounds where the higher paydays are so they weren’t prioritized. Freeman was a 16th round pick accepting a signing bonus that doesn’t even force his team to dip into their bonus pool allotment.

I think that was the Vegas tournament he was referring to. No need to do both Dallas/Houston and another neutral site tournament in the same season.
