June 3Jun 3 Flores isn’t transferring guys. He is just going to take his 200k from whatever MLB team thinks can fix him and move on.

June 3Jun 3 I am expecting a ton of turnover of the roster this year. Lots of transfers and new kids coming in.
June 3Jun 3 I think we bring in a corner infielder, SS, OF, C, and a couple of proven pitchers Edited June 3Jun 3 by texastough
June 3Jun 3 If you remove the guys already in the portal (5) + Easton Tumis + Belyeu/Galvan/Flores/Schuessler/Spencer/Mercer/Dre, that leaves us with 28 on the current roster. We have an incoming freshman class of 15 if you take out Fien and Cunningham (and Jonah Williams already being here). So we are still going to need quite a bit of attrition, and this is without knowing whether the roster limit stuff with the house settlement that is still pending. Roster could be 34 next year, or could be a bit higher, depending on what the judge rules with grandfathering current players. Edited June 3Jun 3 by Hookem2147

June 4Jun 4 Fan favorite? It seems like he worked hard to get the most out of what he had but him being our 2nd best starter last year was a blinking red light that Pierce needed to gtfo. Of course there were posts about twice a week asking when he was coming back so maybe he was a favorite.
June 4Jun 4 Popular Post Some portal intel from Pete Nakos. I’m gonna assume our NIL situation is in a good place if these are the names we are linked with. Speaking with sources, Texas is in the mix for multiple big-time college baseball free agents. The Longhorns are in the mix for Virginia transfers Eric Becker (infielder) and Henry Ford(infielder/outfielder). Becker officially entered the portal on Tuesday with a do-not-contact tag, and batted .368 with 74 hits in 201 at-bats in 2025. He hit nine home runs and drove in 52 RBIs, as well. Seton Hall transfer outfielder Aiden Robbins started 46 games this spring, finishing with a .438 batting average to go with 33 RBIs and a .550 on-base percentage. He has emerged as a top portal target for Texas, sources have said. Maryland starting shortstop Chris Hacopian totaled 29 home runs and 103 RBIs in his two seasons at Maryland. He was an All-Big Ten second-team honoree both years. The sophomore is lining up a visit to Austin, per a source. The rising junior has been projected as high as a potential top-10 pick in the 2026 MLB draft.

June 4Jun 4 Fien is going to sign whatever he gets if his brother is any indication. Dude signed with the A's in the seventh round. Cunningham is going to sign somewhere for sure. He is undersized but is a gamer. Interested in how things shake out with the roster cap for the others. Hope my nephew can figure it out and not get kicked to the curb by Max. We will see.

An idiot LSU fan called in yesterday wanting to fire the baseball coach and guaranteed they would lose their regional. Hell, Miss St fired their best baseball coach ever this year. There are loads of crazies out there!

Becker and Ford were UVA's top-two players statistically on offense: Becker played SS this season, yet appeared at 3B some in 2024 and can play all infield positions sans 1B. UVA doesn't have the breakdown up for 2025 yet, but below is 2024's. 2024: Appeared in 45 games and made 39 starts (26 at third base and 13 at shortstop) Ford played multiple positions in the OF this season.
