I’m sure Borba ending the season on such a high note can’t hurt their reviews of the program 1/3 of his hits as homers and 50 Ks feels very Gasparino-y. Homers vs USC and UCI midweek and a few vs UCSB. Can’t teach 20 homer power as a freshman, but that K rate in the WCC is a bit scary.

June 10Jun 10 Is Flores the most overrated player in recent UT baseball history? He’s slow, chokes, and looked like an idiot at the plate for what feels like the entire second half of the season. Please go pro.

Say whatever you want about the end of his career here at the plate, but he is certainly not a choker. 2 post season grand slams. Grand slam in the 9th this year to not get swept by T state. Huge late homer and another rbi in the Saturday game vs LSU that won us that series. At least 5 walk offs/go ahead homers last year We clearly need to upgrade there, but the shit talking is going overboard on him Edited June 10Jun 10 by UnhappilyMarried

Now seeing the 25 we are going to allot which is up from 11.7. I’m confused why it’s 25 bc CDC wrote this in his weekly recap: Quote Additionally, the settlement will permit us to provide more scholarship opportunities for student-athletes. WE WILL FULLY FUND SCHOLARSHIPS UP TO THE ROSTER LIMIT ACROSS OUR 21 SPORTS. Isn’t the new roster limit 34?

Schools can fund up to that but it is up to the individual schools as whether they fully fund. Could UT fund 25 scholarships and allocate NIL for 9?

Probably for the same reason football will stay at 85 even though the new limit is 105(?). more money for the roster from the rev share allotment

June 10Jun 10 They’re trying to balance out men’s and women’s which is difficult when football takes the largest chunk

I don't know if the full scholarship number is 25 or 34, but I'm pretty sure he and Schloss are on the same page. It certainly wouldn't shock me to spread 25 scholarships across 34 players, and maybe augment with NIL to fill in the gaps.

That’s why I asked bc it’s confusing to say you’re going to fully fund all scholarships up to the roster limit and then tell us it’s only 25 for baseball when the roster limit is 34. Hopefully we get some clarification on that

Maybe use corporate deals for a handful of your big time players. Edited June 10Jun 10 by BurntOrange&White

June 12Jun 12 Cross your fingers (or whatever for Tinney). Hometown Castle Pines, Co (22 miles south of Denver) 6'3, 220 lbs This isn’t what any Notre Dame baseball fan wanted to see, but after narrowly missing out on the NCAA Tournament, it seems like Tinney wanted to play somewhere where he could make the postseason. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/college/fighting-irish/baseball/2025/06/02/carson-tinney-transfer-portal-notre-dame-baseball-ncaa/83998811007/

I think it's fair to say a guy who had 1/3rd of his season hit total against Prairie View A&M was a bust. Looking under the hood, there were some red flags at ULM that we kind of ignored or just thought would get better. He hit .278 in Sun Belt play in 2024 so it wasn't like he was lighting the world on fire in that league. The defense was also horrific at both ULM (4 errors, .951 fielding%) and here. I'd be mildly surprised if he is back. Edited June 13Jun 13 by Hookem2147
