July 11Jul 11 I know the NHL has a salary floor as well as a cap, which leads to weird trade imbalances when some franchises actually eat salary in order to make the minimum. I mention that because, for the life of me, I can't see how the Pens would ship a perfectly functional player plus a pick to increase their PIMs.

ESPN is reporting it wrong, I think: https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/45712041/stars-trade-dumba-penguins-kolyachonok-28-draft-pick Under "Transactions", I think they've got it correct: Acquired D Vladislav Kolyachonok from Pittsburgh Penguins for D Matt Dumba and a 2028 second-round pick.

July 11Jul 11 guys, this isn't hard. lol Quote FRISCO, Texas – Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has acquired defenseman Vladislav Kolyachonok from Pittsburgh in exchange for defenseman Mathew Dumba and a 2028 second-round pick.
July 11Jul 11 4 hours ago, Longhorn_Fan68 said: guys, this isn't hard. lol No shit, there's not a team in the league that would take Dumba straight up for a bag of pucks. We traded a 2nd for a dude picked off waivers and they agreed to take Dumba, too.
July 15Jul 15 Joe is pretty f'ing solid on the links: https://www.ghin.com/golfer-lookup/golfer/53616c7465645f5f9b358eecfa4caf47af130df072e3c311f7939a0bd23f07c2/club/52994
July 15Jul 15 Those with season tickets on the board, do you find that the resale value is pretty decent these days? I'm thinking about picking up a half-season package, but there will be some weekdays where I won't be able to make it.
July 16Jul 16 I don't know shit about fuck, but when I was looking for seats on the resale market last year, it looked pretty damn solid. I couldn't justify the cost for any of the seats I'd wanna sit in.

The FO sent a standard email and haven't responded to me questions yet so maybe everything is close to full up already.
July 17Jul 17 schedule is out https://www.nhl.com/stars/schedule only 2 long road trips that I saw doing a quick review. the mid January road trip looks incredibly shitty

We did better on resales last year with better seats but they are still pretty shitty for weeknight games against opponents without a big fan base. Biggest advice I would have is when you know you can't make a game list for sale sooner rather than later. We tend to suck at this and make decisions day of game or day before game and that costs us. The rare times we both know we are out of town or have a conflict and won't use the tix weeks in advance we get a pretty solid return.

Went to most of the games that would have been bigger sellers, but those we didn't, we definitely made up for some of the Monday night games we got next to nothing so I think all pretty much evened out.

Josh Harris’ group (Commanders, 76er, and New Jersey Devils owner) have been buying up a ton of youth sports entities. If private equity can turn $5 into $10 on the back of hard working families they’d kill their grandmothers for the opportunity.
August 9Aug 9 wondering if this is it or if Nill has any more moves to make before calling to good to start the season.

August 25Aug 25 "I’m feeling good. My foot is fine, and I’ve been able to train normally this summer,” Hintz said at the NHL/NHL Players' Association European Player Media Tour on Friday. “So everything is good.” The 28-year-old was injured when he was slashed on the left leg by Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse at 3:46 of the third period of Game 2 of the Western Conference Final on May 23. Hintz had to be helped off the ice in that game and did not play in Game 3. “The biggest problem with Roope’s (injury) was we couldn’t get it to stop bleeding," Stars general manager Jim Nill said June 6. "They had to take out vials of blood for about two days straight. That’s why he missed the one game. Where it broke, the bone, it just kept bleeding.” https://www.nhl.com/news/dallas-stars-roope-hintz-injury-status-update-broken-foot-healthy-for-camp

August 28Aug 28 after today's news if every home game isn't a sellout I will be shocked. Stars are the last franchise with integrity left in Dallas (I guess the rangers too, but I really don't follow baseball) Edited August 28Aug 28 by Longhorn_Fan68
