March 26, 20187 yr Read that negotiations are ongoing between the Texas and Bama for a home and home series. These kinds of games would be great for CFB. It would also pit two of my favorite teams against one another. Edited March 26, 20187 yr by bornbama1
March 26, 20187 yr The more marquee match ups we have, the better in general. Plus hopefully it gets scheduled after Saban has retired...
March 26, 20187 yr I'm all for these and especially if they are home and home. I would hate this to be at Jerryworld or any neutral site.
March 26, 20187 yr Yep. That would be amazing, and interestingly enough, a marquee home-and-home where I would have almost zero interest in making the road trip. Columbus, South Bend, Pasadena, sure. Tuscaloosa? Er, maybe not so much.
March 26, 20187 yr Great idea.....hope it's not relegated to Fox at 11am Also the key statement, "home and home" is an important one....we can only hope Edited March 26, 20187 yr by gecko
March 26, 20187 yr This would be awesome. What years are we talking about here? I don't think we have anything open until about 2027 or so.
March 26, 20187 yr Yeah- won't be the same when Saban is gone from bama and Herman is going for a 6th national championship in 8 years and everyone is rooting against us.
March 26, 20187 yr It would be good to get this scheduled before 'Bama comes back to earth (post-Saban, pre-Dabo) and while we are "hopefully" coming back to football life.....

March 26, 20187 yr Big name opponents in the future: 2018: USC 2019: LSU 2020: @LSU 2021: @Arkansas 2022: Ohio State 2023: @Ohio State 2024: @Michigan 2025: None 2026: None 2027: Michigan You can see our full planned OOC slate here: http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa/big-12/texas-longhorns.php Alabama is open from 2022 onward, so 2025-26 would work nicely. March 26, 20187 yr Yep, ink it. But please, please no Jerryworld. Needs to be a home & home, but NOLA could be fun as hell too.
March 26, 20187 yr this would be epic. would like to watch us push sabans shit in in front of their home crowd while drinking whiskey.

March 26, 20187 yr Dreamland sucks. If we're going to give Bama the opportunity to play in front of Texas recruits then we should get two home games to one road game in T-Town.

So that 2021 @ Arkansas is the return game for 2008? That's insane. It was originally scheduled for 2014 and they pushed it another 7 years. I don't think I've ever seen a 13 year split between games like that.
March 26, 20187 yr Let's do it!... last time Herman was on a coaching staff that played Bama they kicked ass!..

March 26, 20187 yr 2025-2026... isn’t that about the time the conference tv contracts expire? Interdasting.
March 28, 20187 yr Would be awesome but I just don't believe Bama is interested in a home and home with a major team outside of SEC country. Hope I'm wrong but they know how to build in advantages through scheduling.
March 28, 20187 yr I think it’s awesome to have a badass marquee name to be playing every year. And we ain’t Aggie scared to play a badass or two non conf.

March 28, 20187 yr It would be cool if we could start these negotiations AFTER we got good again, but fuck it. We're Texas. Sink or swim
