Explain. Vast majority of protesters are non-violent

Its hiding the fact that there are violent actors mixed in with the bubble blowers. Both things can be true and both things can be effective propoganda vehicles.

What we need is someone to say "some fucking idiot shitheads are ruining the otherwise peaceful protest, and there's no way to have law enforcement help the good protesters in controlling the bad ones because the law enforcement officers are being told to not actually be helpful"

There are 2 bad guys here right now.

1) violent protesters who are fucking things up for the peaceful protesters and actually vandalising and doing damage to stuff.

2) law enforcement and military who are present and exacerbating things by acting like the peaceful protesters are all violent.

You left out the very worst guy. You know, the one who is inciting all of this shit?

I always laugh at all the people from flyover states that talk about what a crime ridden wasteland NYC is, but they come here at Christmas, spend thousands, and then go home, knowing that things are not as bad as Fox News or dear Orange Leader tells them, but still go back to repeating the lies that they hear.

A few years ago, the Democratic candidate for governor in Oklahoma pointed out in a debate that Oklahoma had a higher crime rate than San Francisco, and the Republican LOST HIS SHIT.  Had a meltdown.  Refused to believe.  You know what, though?  The Democrat was right.

The whole "big cities bad" is so emblazoned into their brain DNA that it is one of their core beliefs.

Trump is what the protest is about...

so he’s not one of the bad guys? Seems to me these protests wouldn’t be happening and we wouldn’t have active duty military deployed in a major US city without him. That makes him the ultimate bad guy in all of this.

It's not hiding any facts.  It's highlighting the fact that the vast majority of protesters are in fact nonviolent.

Does that make it propaganda?  I guess to a slight extent as it presumably is being published to send a message, but it isn't misrepresenting what is happening.

In saying categorically hes the supervillain or whatever. He's the cause of all of this, but he's not the bad actor in the protests themselves.

Well yeah, he's not personally firing nonlethal projectiles at innocents (reporters, etc.) but I don't think you can correctly state that he's not a bad actor in the protests themselves.

So the guy is the supervillain, but isn’t a bad actor? That makes no sense.

No he's what people are protesting (well him and his policy which is ICE raids etc. They are same same)

That's not saying he's not bad. I just don't think contextually it matters to mention trump as a baddie in the frame of reference of this conversation - to be perfectly clear. Trump is the ultimate bad actor overall in all of this.

I don't know why I was surprised to look up the group named on the bottom of the printed posters and find the protests in all these cities are organized by the Party for Socialism and Liberation whose goal is to completely topple capitalism.

Indivisible? It’s headed up by a Doggett ex-staffer, his wife and some other Capitol Hill fringe types. You can be progressive and still a capitalist.

I heard all the violent ones were organized by the Proud Boys as a false flag.

You just explained 99.999999999999999999999% of the internet.

99% of the time, cops weren't purposefully aiming at and shooting reporters who were simply filming and recording an event.

See how easy this is?

What makes it even better is that MAGA has higher standards of behavior that they impose on . . . actual criminals . . . than they impose on law enforcement and government officials who 1) work for We the People and 2) swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution.

That's really all you need to know about MAGAts.

Me?  I say that we should impose legal consequences on EVERYONE who violates the law or constitution.  Wouldn't that be a cool deal?  Instead.....the Regime pardons anyone who violates the law or constitution in service of the Regime's ideals (or who pays the Dear Leader lots of money).  But, you know, "LAW AND ORDER!"

This message board used to be fun.  Now its so serious, even a Jeffrey Dahmer joke goes nowhere.  I miss Hornfans and the Shag.

here's the thing, there's a way to shroud the truth in complete bullshit by omitting the important parts.

99% of LA is peaceful with no protest (probably more tbh), within that 1% of LA that has protests who knows what the ratio is exactly without being there, but lets call it for hypothetical reasons 90/10 split peaceful/troublemakers. 90% of whats going on in 1% of the city is not the entire story just as much as the 10% of the 1% of the city isn't either.

Stupid shit is going down, fireworks are being set off and there are people causing problems, at the same time there is a lot more people well within their rights to protest peacefully who are doing so.

Descending into a fascist hellscape will do that to a people.

Believe me, most of us long for a time when we could forget, for months at a time, that we even had a president, and we could focus on what was important: the college sports program choices made by immature, showboating 18 year olds, women with particularly admirable chestal areas, and muledick.

Or for a time not long ago when we had a president that could forget for months at a time that he was president.

Relax, it's just a joke.

This weekend seems like it's setting up to be a real hoot.

Woman trying to get home to her apartment, standing 30 feet away from cops. We can't hear her but can assume she's likely trying to explain the situation. She gets shot and walks away (crying), cops render zero aid, bystander (filmer) comes to assist hurt woman, and it sounds like cops start to shoot at her, too, at the end.

....then the kitchen cleanup, washing dishes, etc.

All-in-all, I'd guess that his percentage of actual cannibalism-focused activity time was closer to 5% of his time.  So, a real number.  Anything worth doing is worth doing right.

Yesterday the mayor said in her pc that LA has 500 square miles, and one square mile is going under curfew. So just from those numbers, it’s 0.2%.

eta:  don’t recall if she said LA county, city, or metro so there may or may not be more area that could be counted as “LA” that’s not part of the protests.  And, we do know that the entire curfew area isn’t actively involved, so that 0.2% is still probably high.

I’d also add that learning that other posters with whom we could casually get along and joke around previously are A-OKAY with fascism has put a damper on the fun times.

Ah, but the original quote stated "99% of the time this guy wasn't eating people."  I believe that applies specifically to the actual consumption of people.  I think it's a stretch to include meal prep and cleanup.

Some people just love to move goal posts. I've found Edge Lords to be particularly fond of the behavior.

Flageolet.  I presume Jeffrey was whipping up a human cassoulet.  Probably pretty tasty.
