June 12Jun 12 Maybe times have changed, but I graduated high school in the early 2010s. I could not imagine a straight male wanting to play volleyball, at my school anyway. And this was what was the equivalent of a 6A school back then. It is a dumb mindset as there is nothing wrong with volleyball, being gay, or being straight and wanting to play volleyball. I’m just telling you I can’t imagine it being a popular outlet for young men, it very much has the stigma of being an “uncool” or feminine sport. I’m sure that will change with time though.

At this point, Helo is doing a bit to get us stirred up See, you were playing homoerotic volleyball. That was your mistake.

By the way, they didn’t do it because they were worried about guys being bullied, they prevented it because they were concerned it would take away from other sports.

I graduated in 2001 from a rural west TX school and we had male cheerleaders and I doubt anyone would have batted an eye at a male volleyball team. The men in your family must be shit heels.

UHawaii had a men's volleyball team when I worked there in the mid-90s and those guys were fucking rock stars. Every one of their games sold out a 10K seat arena. Also, part of me can't believe that Texas doesn't have girls flag football yet. Most of the Denver area schools have had it for two years, and participation numbers have been really good. The Broncos played a big role in getting it started up, so maybe Jerrah needs to get it going.

Kind of a club sport, or whatever Lacrosse is/was before it got super popular. Two of the girls on my daughters 4x200 track relay played on the girl's high school team.
June 12Jun 12 home field for the first round would be insanity for many of those rural west texas schools where the most convenient neutral site is in New Mexico

At my age, I should stick with the 4 finger basket, and even then, it stopped tasting good after the 3rd steak finger. That's probably for the best, cardiologically speaking.

We usually only eat half of whatever foods we order from DQ and other joints & restaurants. The leftovers are reheated in the air fryer a day or two later. An extra large Blizzard lasts for three snack times while watching Wheel of Fortune. Octogenarian life can be exciting.
June 12Jun 12 This thread went Surly. From Men’s Volleyball to Chicken nuggets. Never mind the UIL did nothing to revert back to old split division playoff format for football so those of us in 5A and below can get rid of some of these ridiculous district set ups Please hurry up football season.
