June 18Jun 18 Headed to Boston for a night game at Fenway. Will be in and around the Boston area for a few days. 1) Recs on parking around the stadium? I used ParkWhiz app, but if there are better options... 2) Food recs? 3) Sight seeing recs?

You can get off at any stop and explore and then catch another one when it comes by. There are some really cool places right across the street from Fenway. It is really a fun place before a game. Lot of food and beer places. Make sure you get a hot dog at Fenway. They are great. Edited June 18Jun 18 by Steamboat1874
June 18Jun 18 Take the green line, way easier than parking and driving in Boston. Lots of good restaurants in Boston. Since you have a car and if you want to get away a little bit, my recommendations: Super beef 3-way on an onion roll at Fresco's in Malden Fried chicken at Nan's in Stow (gotta order 2 hours ahead, get the biscuits too) Ice Cream at Uhlman's in Westborough Bar pizza at Hoey's in Randolph. Stop in at Cask & Flagon before the game - it's directly on the way from Kenmore Station to Fenway Park. Sight seeing: Can't recommend the Duck Boat Tours enough. The drivers are all in character/costume and while it should be cheesy, it actually works. They know their shit and you can hit the high points of Boston's history pretty quickly, w/ humor instead of some dry history major droning. If you have kids w/ you and are looking to kill a couple of hours adjacent to the Duck Boat Tour, they leave from the Boston Museum of Science, which is one of the coolest museums ever. Big fan of the New England Aquarium as well.
June 18Jun 18 Love the thread title. Fenway (Boston). Let us know when you head to NYC: Yankee Stadium (the Bronx). Haven't been to Boston in a minute, but I have had some DAMN fine very thin pizza there.
June 18Jun 18 Parker House rolls & Boston Cream Pie at Omni Parker House, chowder was also very good there. Union Oyster Quincy Market Been to two games and done one tour at Fenway, very cool place.
June 18Jun 18 You don’t even need a car if you’re staying in Boston proper. Walk, take the subway, and uber.

With the cost of rentals nowadays, you'll get more bang for your buck spending it on almost anything else around Fenway.

Also go to the Boston Tea Party Museum. Very cool.
June 19Jun 19 Headed there at the end of July to see the boy and going to Dodgers/Sox both Friday and Saturday. Staying in the Boston Common area. Good restaurant recs right in and around there?

June 25Jun 25 I just got back from Boston. Fire away if you have any questions. I stayed in Back Bay and didn't have a car; you really don't need one in Boston. Walked all over the place hit up two games at Fenway (Boston won both) vs. The Yankees. Games at Fenway are a whole different vibe than the other MLB games I've been to save St. Louis. Good food everywhere. Walked across the bridge to MIT and Harvard to look around. Walked all over the North End, China town, etc. For me I'm content just walking and looking at old brownstones and historical buildings. I will say three days in Boston is probably plenty of time to see everything.
July 1Jul 1 Author Gonna head into Boston Common and park early in the morning (in a garage) and then ride the green line and bus all day. Lunch at Union Oyster, Freedom Trail, then hopefully watch the Reds stomp the Red Sox!

July 2Jul 2 Author Clam chowder was fantastic. It was hotter than balls, and I was with my 70 year old parents, so that affected some walking. The transit system is pretty easy once you get your bearings. The damn game got suspended after the 3rd inning. Sucks, as we’re traveling into New Hampshire and won’t be able to make the make up game tomorrow. Enjoy the donation, Fenway. Toured TD garden and checked out some other cool things. Need to go back by myself.

The Kennedy’s had their on private room upstairs somewhere. Such a great city to visit. All of the locals we encountered were extremely nice too. I will go again.
July 2Jul 2 Author I did not see the picture 🤦🏼♂️ I've never had the desire to try clam chowder, so this was actually my first bowl. Need to try more to compare. But it was fantastic.

We're gonna eat plenty of seafood in Boston, but we're also going to grab some North End italian (we'll get plenty of seafood in the following days, as we work our way up through Maine). Not sure where to grab Italian. Thinking Tony & Elaines for just old school east coast red sauce italian, but can be persuaded otherwise.

Some of the best Italian I've ever had is at Bricco in the North End. Incredible. HIGHLY recommend (not cheap, but not outrageous).
July 15Jul 15 For Italian, we did Bricco last year and it was terrific. That’s a “Sunday gravy” kind of place. Had the same at Carmalina’s this year. In fact, the actual entree I had was something like “Sunday Sauce” or some such. Just terrific. For either place, you cannot hear yourself think, as a warning. We had drinks at Bricco this year and I was reminded of that. If you want a less tomato-ish Italian, we did Mamma Maria as well. I enjoyed that place. Baked oysters, lobster agnoletti, veal cotolleta, blueberry panna cotta. Fuck you, man.
July 15Jul 15 Popular Post I did my bachelor party in Boston back in 2018. Half the crew showed up three hours before I did and opened Cheers up at 11:00 a.m. I went straight to Union Oyster House from the airport to meet them and shit was already out of hand by the time I arrived. Almost got thrown out because everyone was piss drunk and it was only 2:00. Fortunately, I was able to sample the chowder, and it was top rate. Since we had been there a few times already, we didn’t do as much tourist stuff and spent a fair amount of time in Southie. It’s gotten very gentrified and there were some good brunch spots. We hung out at Woody’s L-Street Tavern quite a bit. It was bad ass. There’s a bar tender at Woody’s, named Steve, whose uncle owns the joint, or at least used to own it. We opened that place up one day and built a pretty good rapport with young Steve. We left feeling pretty buzzed. Did our tourist stuff and got to the end of the day with some of us flying back the next morning and others with an extra day to work off a hangover. Those of us staying the extra day went back to Woody’s. By this time, Steve was off the clock and all his buddies were there at the bar getting trashed, so we joined in. It was that night that I learned Boston girls apparently expect you to lick their ass holes on a first date. At least, that’s what I was told by Steve and his buddies, who were appalled that we in Texas don’t eat ass on the first date. One of Steve’s friends, whose name slips my mind, informed me that a girl won’t go out with you again if you don’t lick her ass. As far as technique goes, I was instructed not to tongue punch, but to lick around the outer part, “like an avocado after you take the seed out.” Judge me if you want, but never have I, nor do I have plans to lick an ass. There’s only one ass I will ever again have the opportunity to lick, and I’m pretty sure her ass would divorce mine if I tried. It is for that reason (well, that and the obvious reasons) that I have not been able to verify Steve’s friend’s next claim that a clean ass hole tastes kind of like batteries. I’m sure there are plenty of guys on here who can back Steve’s friend up. Please chime in. So, you young guys who might find yourselves in Boston looking for some strange, you now know the rules of the game. Pack your mouthwash and your adventurous spirit. Edited July 15Jul 15 by Chili dog

Although, based on current pitching rotation, MAYBE we get to see Ohtani pitch on Saturday? That would be cool. Would be my second time to see him play (saw him pitch and hit for the Angels v. the Stros a few seasons ago....and he put on a freaking CLINIC, on both sides of the plate).
