If I had an extra day I would have run down to East Bridgewater to the Standish Grill. A hole in the wall with bad ass clam and lobster rolls. Was about 2 miles from my grandparents house off 123 and we would walk there when we had a few bucks.

@Brisketexan @InkaUtexas @Sbbruin - I'm just here to say I hate you all. You come to town and don't even say hi. Fuck you guys.

Nah, all good, I was out of town this weekend and couldn't have met up. you guys look like you had a great time.

Time for another Boston thread to be put on my watch list.

Man we were posting about it. And yes, I think we had as good of a time as allowed. Kids got to meet, we saw a great game. Fenway is just, well, Fenway.

Next time. We will all crash at your place.

Got in last night going to see Astros tomorrow night. Hitting the usual spots today and thinking about a Fenway tour in the morning. I’ve been to Fenway but my 12 yr old has not. I have never done or really considered any kind of stadium tour. Has anyone done a Fenway tour? If so how was it?

Cool tour with plenty of options and history to boot, they know what they’re doing.

The Fenway tour is absolutely worth it.  I don't think it was very expensive, but it's priceless if you're a baseball fan.

If you can go on a non-gameday, you will probably get to see more of the park (locker rooms, pressbox).  On gamedays, try for the early tour, as parts of the stadium get closed off closer to game time.

Our tour included a trip to the top of the green monster.

Take a picture of the return of Carlos Correa

I’ve been on one. Totally worth it. You get to tour everything. Getting up on the monster is great.

Well shit, we got gypped on our tour. They had a concert the night before and were cleaning up and doing work on the field. We didn’t get access to the green monster, just the seats above it.

We’re booked for tour first thing am tomorrow. Fenway tour then playing the country club with a friend then Sox Astros. Pretty Good Friday.

THE Country Club? Holy shit. That makes it all worth it.

And he got perfect weather this morning for golf. After a week of 90s, a front came through yesterday, brought rain all day which was expected into the morning.

Instead the rain broke over night and the front brought low 70s. Perfect.

quick update -- The Fenway tour was great and definitely worth your time.  The Country Club was amazing and as Ron noted, we had perfect weather.  Really cool holes with a lot of undulation and elevated greens and tee boxes on a beautiful piece of property. Most probably know this (I didn't) but they have 3 nines and the format they have for the open and other big tournaments is an 18 hole combination of the 3 nines (something like 1-3 on one nine, 5-6 on another, then back, then to the third nine etc.).  The day we played was the open set up (which the members tell me is pretty rare) so that was really cool.  Clubhouse and everything else is really something else.  We had caddies which is definitely out of the ordinary for me and really cool.  Ballgame was a lot of fun but for the final score.  We were a few rows behind the Stros dugout and my 12 year old was trying to get Framber and some other guys to throw him a ball all night.  A few kids around him got one but he did not.  Late in the game the Sox had a guy on third with less than two outs -- fly ball to left, runner tags and scores easy, LF throws the ball to Correa. Dead ball at that point so Correa looks at the Stros fans behind the dugout.  I'm raising my hands pointing at my boy next to me.  Correa and I make eye contact, he nods at me and throws me the ball.  I reach up and catch it one handed and hand it to my boy and the crowd around us goes wild.  It was so great.

Don't overlook grabbing a 12 pack and hanging out to see what happens at the low overpass landmark.

That bridge gets hit damn near weekly. Always on twitter. Saw a box truck have its roof peeled back like a sardine can close to 40 yrs ago. You’d think they would have figured out a solution by now.

Have a low bridge near the house that gets hit on the regular even after millions were spent on bells, whistles, sensors warning drivers as they approach it.

There are plenty of signs all around and you literally will hit at least 2 things before getting on Storrow. I am not what more can be done to save people from themselves.

Lower the road.  People are idiots who have proven they cannot be saved from themselves.

edit:  I am not for a solution, as I prefer the entertainment.

A multi-billion dollar project to cut a few hours of congestion that people expect monthly.

You will get your entertainment and you will like it.

Headed back to Boston tomorrow to see the boy for parents weekend.  Any lunch recs near the Boylston St area?

@Sbbruin Depending on where you are just throwing some stuff out:

Salty Girl (Newbury St)
Buttermilk & Bourbon (Comm Ave)
If you'r near Fenway - Eventide.

Hell, depending on how close you are, I would almost recommend a trip to china town and just say grab some Dim Sum.

You haven’t experienced Boston if you haven’t experienced Wahlburgers.

Did Buttermilk and Bourbon on Friday for lunch. Excellent. Dinner Saturday at Faccia a Faccia which really good. And the restaurant in our hotel, Lucie, was phenomenal for breakfast.

Some other places near where you stayed:

Petit Robert Bistro - Petit Rober (silent T) - French place. Amazing. You will need reservations.

Deuxave - a more modern French place. Also great and you will need reservations, but solid (I like Petit Robert more though)

Five Horses Tavern - just a solid bar w/ food.

The Friendly Toast - Kirby Lane of the NE
