August 15Aug 15 There was a time when I was in Columbus frequently for work. If you like pizza, hit Tommy's. A few locations, a couple of them near campus. Got a cracker crust that's pretty good. They do cut it into squares tho.
August 15Aug 15 I prefer Adriatico's pizza. Tommy's is too greasy for me but I like pepperoni which doesn't help. The walk from the Moxy is about 2 miles so not terrible. Uber after the game is a nightmare so unless you want to wait 2+ hours for a ride I would not consider Uber after the game. I'd invite you guys to our tailgate but I won't be there this year. Enjoy the game those of you that come and I hope you are treated well. There will always be a few assholes but I think the visiting fan experience has improved greatly in the last 20 years.

Not seeing anything available yet in what I assume is the visitors sections… They became available this afternoon, but we have to download them in the buckeye app, I assume they can be posted from there to SeatGeek for those reselling. Cops telling us to take off the orange. Women shouldered into traffic. Full beers and waters coming from buildings. Silly bitch pushed me in the chest while four guys with her waited for a reaction. “What are you going to do, motherfucker?” “I’m going back to Texas. You can stay in the dumpster fire.” Good times. And me, like a dumbass, going back. At least it’s a day game.

August 18Aug 18 Author UT told me our allotment is in 6C, 8C, and 10C. Ohio Stadium has even-numbered sections in one side of the stadium and odd-numbered sections on the other side, so don’t look in 7C or 9C unless you wanna sit with a bunch of people wearing red…
August 18Aug 18 Anyone familiar with Columbus know of good bars to watch the rest of the CFB slate after we emasculate the whole state of Ohio? Looks to be plenty of sports bars, but I'd prefer not to be surrounded by midwestern townies.

Going to a bar in Columbus AFTER they have been drinking for 4-6 hours would not be on my todo list. But good luck if yall do.

Your plan is to hang out in Columbus at a place where alcohol is served and game highlights are shown after Texas wins?

August 18Aug 18 That is my plan as well for Saturday night. Get back to the hotel, and then get back out and go watch Clemson LSU somewhere downtown. Don't let the cowards on here scare you off.

What people don't know is that it isn't the townie folk, OSU grads or even most of the students that are usually the issue. It's the hill jacks from down south closer to Kentucky that really cause the issues. OSU truly cracked down on them after the Texas game, but they didn't eliminate the issues. Hill Jacks gonna hill jack and the further from campus, later and more dive bar you get the worse it will be. Hotel bar close to campus is honestly the safest bet for watching the later games with the fewest potential issues. Anything higher end is fine. I went to local bars last time, but I was with OSU grads. There was a little shit talking but nothing unreasonable. August 18Aug 18 Author Looks like that’s the case right now. I would also look at TicketMaster over SeatGeek because I think that people who got tix through the LF actually have to sell them via the Ohio State app (which contracts with TM) vs our app (SeatGeek). Basing that statement on the number of specific seats (vs “you’ll get two together on this row”) on the former vs the latter. I pulled the trigger on 2 in 8C on the aisle at $389 per this morning. If inventory were increasing I would have held out, but it’s been tight as hell and I have to sit on the aisle…

August 19Aug 19 Things I Hate About Ohio Let’s just get this out there: Ohio might be the most aggressively average state in America. You know that friend who shows up to the party, doesn’t bring anything, talks trash about your team, and then leaves early? That’s Ohio. Clevecinanntiland– They are like the urban version of a hangover. People keep promising Cleveland is “making a comeback.” Yeah, so is fascism. Skyline Chili sucks. So does Procter & Gamble, where I spent way too much time at. Columbus is the home of shitty insurance companies. The fans – No commentary needed The excitement factor – The state motto should just be: “Well… we’re here.” The lack of successful graduates –Sorry. I’m sure they’re out there. Never met any in NYC or Austin. The lack of history – What actually happened there that we should care about. Oh, they had a few Civil War regiments. Well, that certainly makes them unique. The lack of famous people – Okay, Neil Armstrong is cool. So is Sarah Jessica Parker. Steven Spielberg is okay. After that, nada. But in the spirit of fairness, I’ll admit there are a few things I actually like about Ohio: Devo – The horribleness of Ohio is the reason they were great Chrissie Hynde – Absolute rock goddess The Wright Brothers – They invented airplanes just so people could get out of Ohio faster. And they did it in North Carolina. The Museum of Rubber in Akron – Weirdly fascinating, and let’s be real: a whole lot of Ohio jokes basically write themselves from that one
August 20Aug 20 I am looking forward to the Horns giving the bucknuts a Cleveland Steamer like they did to Meatchicken in Ann Arbor last year.

Ocean Prime has been noted for my annual pilgrimage to Dallas in October.
August 22Aug 22 Weather predictions come and go, but what I know for sure is that seven days from now I’ll be on a plane heading to Ohio.
August 23Aug 23 We’re bringing the kids to their first game and had planned to tailgate with some fOSU family. They had a medical event this week (all good), so now we’re looking for something pregame that’ll be fun/safe for kids in Texas gear. Any suggestions?
