Not trying to be harsh. I like the guy and have heard he's a great teammate. I'm not bashing the dude. There's a huge gap between him and the other backs Texas has been fortunate enough to see in the last 4 or 5 seasons. I don't believe he's that dangerous back that requires attention every down. It's not an insult to say a running back isn't Bijan or Brooks. It's not an insult to tell Manu Ginobili "you weren't Kobe." Dab some salve on chili dog's labia and we'll get back to the passing game.

Had a similar discussion with a friend last year towards the end of the season. His question was "How far back in Texas football do we have to go to find a starting RB who wouldn't start ahead of Wisner?". I think we settled on Keontay Ingram. Not meant as a knock on Wisner, just that we've had a pretty incredible run at RB.

I think Wisner will see his workload diminished over the course of the year as Baxter gets comfortable and maybe some of the other guys as well. I made my guess on his receptions based on his touches being front loaded out of necessity.

That considered, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a late round pick when he comes out.

I get the analogy but Manu is a HOF player. He’s in the top 75-100 all time players somewhere. Kobe is top 5-10, but I don’t think you’re saying Wisner is a HOF top 100 level all time back.

Are there any reports of Jordan Washington looking like he might be a terror up the seam or a mauling blocker on the edge after having a year in the weight room and some growth? I don't mind deluding myself in my own wishfulness until September. Is he even in the realm of challenging Endries?

I went full nerd and perused Cal boards about their thoughts on Endries. The two main vibes I got were that they were super disappointed to lose him and that they were underwhelmed with his blocking ability. Also, Cal boards are super depressing. Even the ACC thinks they suck. One of the more prolific Cal posters claimed that Endries will be Arch's version of David Thomas. And I only remembered that because that seemed unusually savvy for a Cal fan to have that much UT knowledge.

Who is this Jaggy Mickjagger'sson of whom you speak? I was not aware that Mick had a son named Jaggy, but he's got 8 kids, so I guess it's not totally outside the realm of possibility.

Does Parker Livingstone have a PR person or something? My X feed has been blowing up with local sports reporters talking about him and even Pete Thamel had a random post about him playing a lot and Mosely not 100%.

The last four games are the actual do-or-die ones. Lose to tOSU in August, not the end of the world, but lose to anyone those last four, and you go home.

Why only one? Pitch back early to the trailing RB/WR, run by the defenders and be wide open ten yards down field... Twice a game, minimum 15-16 games, gotta be looking at 30 receptions easily.

Exactly.  I'd say 2.  One like you said, and one like Quinn had in 2023 (vs Bama) where he threw to himself by way of an opposing player's hands.

Parker will have 1480 yards and 17 TD's.  He will establish himself as WR1 this year.

When was the last time we had a TE who blocked well?

Helm, Sanders, Thomas.....all were below average in-line blockers. I doubt it changes with Endries, but maybe Shannon or Washington will surprise us. TE's don't need to be maulers, especially in Sark's offense.

I may have been a little too conservative.

Strong had a couple. The names are escaping me. Maybe Herman had one.
