Never the same player after he hurt his knee and he became a giant pain in the ass after that on top of it.

I honestly don't recall his name coming up much since returning from the injury. There's probably a physical out there that he didn't heal right. Otherwise why cut and not at least try to trade for something even bare minimum?

He ghosted the Cowboys on his rehab assignments in the offseason and got a huge fine. Then he got drunk/high and concussed himself while at home. There is no trade market. It goes without saying but he also was awful when he did get on the field.

Flash in the pan season, that's it. And of course, Dallas way overpaid for it on his extension. Same for Bland. Maybe if the injury doesn't happen, his career goes differently but even his breakout season, he got burned a ton

Green Bay claimed Diggs, assuming roughly half a mil of his remaining salary. So at least they kinda got something back for him.

But with the Cowboys luck Diggs will probably play and make some key picks in the playoffs and get them deep, maybe even the Superbowl and cost them about 10 spots on that Packers first round pick that the Cowboys got in the Parsons trade. That would be about the most Cowboys thing to happen.

I can't root against the Cowboys to lose a game, but it would be better for them if they lost. Hopefully they throw a ton of backup in there and get some looks at younger guys, get Dak out of the game early.

Hey Blue, if there's no fucking hole whatsoever, plant your foot and race the fucking linebackers to the sidelines and pick up a few yards - maybe find a path to the end zone

I guess the fade works in practice? It rarely if ever works in games.

They practice?

Agree about the knee. From what I've been told and can decipher, it appears Diggs was used to McCarthy's style of coaching. Schotty has tried to be a tough guy and it appears that he found a target on defense to make an example of all year. The funny thing is, all these pseudo tough guy coaches (and that's what Schotty is, a fake tough guy), are the worst when it comes to playing favorites, not creating a culture of objectivity and equity. Now, if you're going to play games like this, choose your victims well and Diggs was chosen well, because he was a failing player who was ruined by injury. There is a very small chance Diggs is anything but a jag the rest of his career on larger sample sizes, and he can really only play one style - mostly man and press -- which further erodes any value - not physical enough to play safety.

I don't think there was much of a market for him. The Packers picking him off waivers has widely been crushed. I think if he can hand around another year or two and collect a paycheck, that may be his upside. BUT, I do have to be consistent and say that next year was always going to be his best opportunity to prove his health. His injury generally needs a couple of years to come back from.

I'll say, Clowney has been a real nice guy to add. He'll never be the player he was expected to be coming out of HS and SC, but he's turned into a pro's pro. He comes in, understands the assignment, prepares hard and plays his ass off. I wouldn't mind adding him next year but he's probably at the hired gun portion of his career and is ring hunting. But, if he liked his time, I would sign him to another cheap contract. He's been one transaction which has really panned out.

Whoever that DB was coming on the long return was absolutely FLYING.

C'mon Blue, git r done YES! BLUE!

Schotty may have some splaining to do if Blue continues to play like this...... And don't fall for the, tough love made him better. I'm sure it did but not having him active was ludicrous and only reason he's active today is both RBs got hurt.

Blue looking great, the OL is opening holes I could get 5 yards through.

Best part of his good run to get down to fg position is he saw he was about to be caught and wrapped the ball in both hands.

Death, Taxes and 3rd screen passes working for long first downs against Cowboys every time. Giants, Eagles, and Washington go to play every fucking year.

Quoting your post within that post is pretty baller.

Turd with the big block.

I'm not getting choked up seeing Blue get his first NFL TD ball. Nope, not me.

Cowboys hanging tough against one of the worst teams in the league! Can't wait for next season when the New and Improved America's team will be led by superstar Dak Prescott and possibly the newest, cheapest Offensive Coordinator the league has to offer!

Seems another year has passed with Mike McCarthy on the bench. Per Google:

"AI Overview

Former Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy is

preparing for an NFL head coaching return in 2026, taking time in 2025 to be with family (especially his daughter's volleyball) and study the game from his Wisconsin home, while also being linked to the New York Giants' coaching search as of early January 2026. He maintains a coach's routine and is reportedly a strong candidate for upcoming NFL openings after being let go by Dallas at the end of the 2024 season. "

So Barnyard has been studying trends and stuff for the last year... Where have we heard that before?

Somebody won a 5 week progressive on our pub's Dallas blackout square board last week. So the finale today w/ all squares full is only a hundred bucks. Can't remember a season when there's been less interest in the final game.

The difference between a loss and a win could be 5+ spots in the draft. I'm with @DougO in that I find it extremely hard to ever root for my teams; however, there could be quite a bit of upside in draft position.

#6448

to believe there is an upside in draft position is to believe in Jerry Jones running the team correctly.

True dat, but I'm grasping for straws in trying to retain interest in this game.
