I can’t for the life of me find a window filler panel(s) to fill the area above the window unit.  The window slides right to left to close, not up and down.  Every single filler panel I can find is to fill the sides of the unit.  I can close the window tight up against the unit, but I’ve got maybe 3 feet about the unit to fill.  Am I not using he right terms in googling this?  Am I making sense describing what I need?  This is for a garage office.

I may not be following your question, but if I am, one option is to purchase a 4x4 piece of plexiglass of a solid thickness, say 1/4 to 1/2 inch and do a simple wood frame with 1x2 wood strips that are nailed to the side jamb.

You can cut the plexiglass to size with a fine tooth blade on a handsaw or maybe pay extra and order a custom cut piece from a local plastics business. This may be a lot more effort than you're thinking for a simple garage window filler.

I had the same issue when I built a tiny house with sliding windows instead of single or double hung windows. I ended up purchasing a specialty vertical oriented window unit that came with a filler for the space above. Pain in the ass and lesson learned.

Thanks, and yes, that does seem like a lot more work than I was thinking.

I have no fucking idea what you are talking about.  Can you do a sketch?

If I am reading correctly, instead of this arrangement:

OP has something more like this:

And is having trouble filling the gap.

hey Bruin, I just did a mini split for about 1000 bucks.  It works great, and will provide heat in the winter.

A little janky, but a good seal all around and it's working well.

If by "a little janky" you mean "would embarrass a hillbilly", then I agree with you.

on second look, it doesn't look "back" far enough.

That’s not vents.  That’s text on top of the unit.
