Uh, the other thing being when Binney enters the match Spears sits on the bench. That's even bigger to me than replacing Swindle, and I love both Swindle and Kahahawai.  I think there's something

  • That's going to be a new McCombs graduate diving all over the floor in a few hours.

  • If Vandy finishes off Cal (leads 2-0), the challenge will end in an 8-8 tie Texas, Bama, MSST and OU all had 5 set wins today

We will see them again if seeds hold. Likely KY is 2 and TX is 3

A potential date in the final four

We can't play even remotely like that against Corn.

Well that sucked.  Annoying we haven't won this league yet.

Guess we'll have to beat Kentucky in KC.

Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. The SEC title continues to elude us.

Its okay, we went from the #3 overall seed with a win to the #3 overall seed with this loss. Largely meaningless, just beat them when it counts if we play them again.

I would like to see if Corn can even make it to the finals. They have a knack to come up short when the pressure is on.

Congratulations to Kentucky on a hell of a comeback.

And congrats to the Lady Longhorns on a well fought game. Can't wait to see you play again in the 2025 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship!

This game mattered because it would have earned us a trophy. The NCAA trophy is not guaranteed and Corn seems unbeatable this year.

I hate this Kentucky team under Skinner. They are like Kirby’s Georgia team, acting like the giant underdog with no talent every match, trolling opponents and being extremely unlikable

Went from multiple championship points in a sweep, to giving it away. Means nothing in the long run of the upcoming tournament, but it's just a very bad loss. Just way too many self inflicted damage. Kentucky is a very good, but still really disappointing.

They were also unbeatable two years ago and then we beat them.

Not historically.  Last couple of years they've been young, like we are now.

Maybe a Busboom thing (I know it's Busboom Kelly, but plain Busboom is more fun).

Would've liked to see Lauenstein come in for Abby when she is struggling.

Or use her in the double sub instead of Devin. Devin just can't put the ball down.

Well, the choke job virus appears to be going around campus. Better keep the football team quarantined!

I think this current squad invited some bad karma when they got up there and said they were gonna 3 peat after they lost to Texas. Fuck em

Could be and maybe Busboom isn't Satan, er, John Cook.

But I have respect for Corn that borders on fear.  Big 10 doesn't seem to be quite what it used to be, though.

Looks like we found a rival.

Lots of youth out there against a veteran team, so I'm not shocked with a loss. Really disappointed in how it unfolded, of course, but Kentucky's depth stepped up. So let's learn from it and move on.

I'd much rather it happen tonight vs. Kentucky than vs. aggy last night.

Yes, they were wearing AVW on the serve and she was struggling. Lead to bad passing, out of system, very predictable sets to her which ended up being blocks most of the time.

It’s a weak rotation this year.

Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.  Not accustomed to seeing the ladies choke like that.

It was top competition, but yeah, we had em.

And, I gotta say, it's better than the old days when about all we had was a front row and if you could defend and block that, we were done.

No question -- Kentucky is the complete opposite of chopped liver.  But when you're at match point in the third set and end up losing, that's a gut punch no matter who the opponent is, IMO.

Oh, I don't think this team has a chance against this Cornhusker team. They simply don't serve tough enough. Not saying Nebraska can't be beaten, but it won't be by Texas. I do think Texas can beat anyone else, including Kentucky. And I do think Nebraska is capable of losing. But it would need to be a team that can consistently get them out of system from the service line, and that's not Texas this year.

I feel like Texas and Kentucky hate each other more than Texas and the aggies lol

It feels like there's more mutual respect between the Texas and Texas A&M programs.

Morrison was a volunteer coach at Texas for a couple of years back when that was a thing. He's openly stated Texas is their standard they'd like to get to.

Craig Skinner was a coach under John Cook at Nebraska for 5 years. It's a pretty well known thing Cook and Elliott did not get along. There's been no outward signs of bad blood between Skinner and Elliott, but there are potential reasons for it. The loss to Kentucky in the finals. The Skinner transfer. The Rutherford transfer. Josephson coming over. Texas not recruiting any of the players from the state on the Kentucky roster. Texas being lauded as the new king of the conference upon entry when Kentucky has dominated it for a long time. Then there's the whole competitive psychology of fueling the flight/fight mechanism in our brain with perceive injustice and disrespect, whether real or not.

We need to win more. We won last year but then lost the conference title to them. It's a bummer this match went the way it did, especially when it looked like we had it.

But I see great potential in Kentucky being a huge rivalry down the road.

They're both grumpy looking sonsabitches, that's for sure.

I’m all for a good rivalry but as of now it looks like Volleyball and possibly WBB may be it. Football the matchups are too few and far between to develop anything, MBB are in transitions, Baseball/ Softball? Clearly UT by a mile along with the Olympic sports. Good luck to the Lady Horns in the tournament and possibly Rd. 3 down the road.

No, it would be a volleyball specific rivalry. I can't imagine having strong feelings about their other programs. I mean I have strong feelings about their basketball program, but not vis a vis us. And since Calipari left that helped a lot.

No one is thinking Kentucky is going to join the legions of Texas haters across all sports.

I don't think of Nebraska as a rivalry in anything other than volleyball. Or Stanford. Nebraska fans hate all things Texas, but I don't give them a whole lot of thought outside of volleyball. Why would I?

No offense but for us OU, LSU, Tenn and South Carolina are much higher tier rivals in WBB than Kentucky will be.  And even aggy is probably a rival tier above Kentucky

We’re young but that’s just an excuse. We loss cause we didn’t have the killer instinct. We’ve shown it but we need it consistently.

all we can do is learn from it and keep moving forward , just hate it cause th same thing happen in the season vs A&M. Have to take advantage of the situation when opportunity presents itself

Have no fear - the internet pitchforks have come out for Swindle, again, as if she was the only reason we lost.

Texas setters get blamed for EVERYTHING

When Texas went up 2-0 I turned to my wife and said Kentucky would win it in 5. I don’t however think Texas would choke it away. I just figured Kentucky was just going to play better the last 3. I guess for the most part they did. They staved off a lot of match points.

Once DeLeye woke up, it was over. If we had made some adjustments on Thigpen, maybe we win, but we were selling out to stop DeLeye and Hudson and it almost worked
