September 7Sep 7 Great win for the girls there. These are the types of matches we were losing last year. This will be a big confidence builder.
September 7Sep 7 They really need to do something about TOs & challenges in regular season matches though, fucking brutally slow on TV.
September 7Sep 7 Many concerning stretches, but all's well that ends well. Teachable moments without sacrificing the W.
September 7Sep 7 Damn, can't believe Texas finally started attacking again. Looked like they forgot how. And Cari needed to get more sets, she was hitting the best. And how did the student section get so ugly since I was in school?
September 7Sep 7 We may need to credit the crowd for helping us win that 5th set….from caterpillar to butterfly….pulled this off…..congrats ladies.
September 7Sep 7 “You learn more from a loss” nah, fuck that, volleyball is a confidence and momentum sport. Being able to WIN with your backs against the wall is a bigger learning moment because you know what your team is capable of achieving when they’re down

Louisville is gonna be a dog fight
September 7Sep 7 Question for those of you actually watching every match: is the setting that bad every time out?

But they also learned that they can win a match like this.

Ella then came back in for Binney after Texas tied it at 13 Ella then set until 16-16 when Binney came in to serve. Stanford hitting errors were the final 2 points, she didn’t even set a ball Also the ballsiness of Ella to set Bunton at 14-15
September 7Sep 7 Yeah, I looked it up in the box score play-by-play and saw the same thing. Today is the 1st time I've put eyes on the team this season, and it usually takes me til halfway through conference play to figure out who/where everyone is and understand the rotations. Thought it was odd that the starting S was off the floor for long stretches. btw- I've been watching a shitload of college volleyball for the last 15 years or so. I can't even remember the last foot fault I saw, and Stanford had THREE today. wild.

Yeah, we were there. I was thinking the same thing. Crowd really, really brought the noise and made it a bit tougher on Tree there in the 5th. Loud AF. Got damn, that was fun. Weren't they just taking Ella out when she was heading to the back row & wouldn't be a factor in the block?

Poor Chloe, among others. Edited September 8Sep 8 by TwiceHorn

Some matches it gets done in the middle of the set (the teen points) and sometimes it’s in the 20s / red zone for Devin’s block to be a factor in closing out a match It’s not even a 5-2, it’s just a double sub for 3 rotations for like a small stretch of a set. It’s not consistently every time Ella goes into the back row. Only sometimes
