Uh, the other thing being when Binney enters the match Spears sits on the bench. That's even bigger to me than replacing Swindle, and I love both Swindle and Kahahawai.  I think there's something

  • That's going to be a new McCombs graduate diving all over the floor in a few hours.

  • If Vandy finishes off Cal (leads 2-0), the challenge will end in an 8-8 tie Texas, Bama, MSST and OU all had 5 set wins today

So far, the ACC is winning the big matchups in this challenge - SMU over Aggy, UNC over Florida and Stanford over Mizz.

Tenn did beat GT. Don’t care much about the rest except Texas-Louisville and Pitt-Kentucky

I hope all you DFW people show up in full force tonight!!

They're going to get 2 incredible matchups if they show up - the two best teams in the SEC vs the two of the 3 best teams in the ACC.  4 of the top 7 in the country.

Not to mention the matches in Dallas yesterday and the other match in Fort Worth tonight.

DFW was the center of volleyball for 2 consecutive nights.

I was at the A&M match last night and I'll be at the Texas match tonight! Looking forward to a competitive match with Texas on top!

Big time get - 6'4 OH Ireland Real (San Clemente, CA) commits to Texas

She was at the match on Sunday against Stanford.  Coincidentally, the school we beat for her

Very early #1 player in the class of 2027, as she joins Ella Olsen (L/DS, Newport Beach) and MB Camille Presley (Austin)

I had it typed out, but it is likely Texas could land the #1 class in 2025, 2026 and 2027

2024 - Ames top 5
2025 - AVW, Spears top 5
2026 - Anderson, Harris top 5
2027 - Real type 5

Kentucky, aggy and Florida go 0-9 in sets in this challenge

Yikes AF

I’m kinda scared. We gotta represent tonight

At least we start on time!

I feel like Sam Gore has blackmail information on a higher up at ESPN, so they can't actually fire him. But they've parked him in volleyball coverage where he can do the least amount of damage. Unfortunately, as a volleyball fan, he does plenty of damage to me. He's so wooden. And he's not actually that knowledgeable, or even being interested in being knowledgeable, about the sport he covers.

And then a 3-0 Texas run forces a Louisville TO at 19-18 Texas

Our production out of the right side attack with Cari Spears is better than I've seen it for years. No offense to Molly Phillips, who was amazing for us, but she was crafty and a surgeon, not a physical wunderkind. Last year's right side attack was incredibly disappointing. It's early in the season, so we'll so how it goes, but early returns are very impressive.

Louisville looks great. I wish we could get those 5 points back when we started the set down 0-5. Louisville's block is outstanding.

Bunton a little slow closing the block.

It's a bummer we don't have Singletary on this team, but such is life. No offense to Bunton. She's good, but this team would obviously be better if Singletary was still on the roster.

I wonder if Harvey at some point surpasses Bunton. I doubt it happens this year. But I'm curious what happens next year.

Louisville looks solid. Digging a deep, early hole didn't help.

Louisville's block and ability to win the extended rallies felt like the difference. Texas more impressive athletically, especially hitting the ball.

I love our back row this year.

Let's see what happens if we keep from getting in a deep hole early on.

We haven’t had a dominant slide attack since O’Neal was there.

Every time this season I see someone run a D-ball now I'm going to think of Js1.

Texas runs it well with Cari

I'm so glad we never wear the tank tops with sleeves.  That's goofy and contrived.

Also very gruntled that we've had multiple gals take over games.

10-3 now

I enjoy watching Louiville on these extended points. Maybe not quite so much as I would if it was against a different opponent, but much respect regardless.

It also helps we're up 11-4 right now. Hopefully we continue this.

Stafford back row defense is 🔥

Who is the best back row defensive player we've ever had that was the main outside hitter? I honestly don't know. I just know Stafford is really impressive out there.

Tied at 12 apiece.
