I'm pretty confident that "taking accountability" doesnt include blaming the cameraman or the performers.

And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling Englishmen from Coldplay!

Coldplay sucks so bad we chose to watch Kanye at ACL Fest instead.

Then Kanye sucked so we wandered over to watch Coldplay, who confirmed our earlier suspicions, so we went to Magnolia Cafe and I had Eggs Zapatino and all was well.  The end.

This is honestly going to make it so much worse for him. Rich CEO having a midlife crisis and birddogging the 26 year old assistant is something you can work through in marriage counseling. Taking the HR lady who is the same age as your wife to see Coldplay will cut so much deeper.  It’s simply “I like her a lot more than you” and that can’t be bounced back from.

This.

My wife once said she didn't worry about the Hooters waitress.  She worried about the attractive 45 year old with money.

Oh whatever. Depends on how much you care about the job and what the policies are.

when he said “work” he was implying a legitimate career.  you’re free to fuck your co-workers at thundercloud.

If the dude raises his hands above his head and shouts “Wooo! Coldplay!” the cam moves on. But you have to be a legit sociopath to be capable of reacting like that in the middle of the “oh shit” moment.

People are generally terrible at lying and pretending to do/feel something they aren’t doing or feeling.  A handful of people in the world can pull it off up close and with cameras on and they have to rehearse and get paid tons of money.

I’ve been to sporting events with my sister or female friends and did spend a few moments figuring out what I’d have to do if we were on kiss cam. Like some awkward gesture or European kiss.

What would they do if employees saw them nestling up? They’d have to think that was a possibility, right?

The take no responsibility for my actions and instead blame the band statement. Yeah this is a garbage person who has definitely cheated many times if we go by the person who used to report to him at another company.

You're going to have to define the line between "pointing and laughing" and "running someone's life". What's the appropriate reaction to this?

The ruining someone's life wasn't done by anyone in this thread. It's from the people who posted it, subsequently called them out and then circulated it widely and amplified it.

Coldplay knows they have massive reach, those people obviously didn't wanna be on camera, and putting them on blast after was not cool. What if they were not cheating and were married? It's a weird fucking thing to do regardless if it's actually an affair or not. Posting it on the internet is also fucking weird as shit.

First day on the internet?

Social media is what it is. This type of stuff has happened for a while. The only person I feel bad for is the wife who didn't ask for her world to be blown up by her cheating husband.

Then it's a pretty goofy clip about two incredibly camera shy people that gets laughed off and disappears in a few days.

Having an open affair in a crowded arena and expecting strangers to keep your secret after an objectively funny reveal is certainly a take.

The memes on this have been fantastic imo. We’ve really come together as a nation during divided times.

I guess some employees from this Astronomer company were also at the concert and that's how they got doxxed?  I would have no idea who either of these people are (and wouldn't care) if shown on the Jumbotron.

Add it to the pile along with Ocean Gate and the insurance CEO.  Rich people getting fucked is a unity-builder in this country.

I don't know about at concerts but the kiss cam / fan cam is SOP at many sporting events during down time.  I don't have any blame on Coldplay for that unless they posted this to their official account.  Agree with you on the hoards of people harassing all parties even the ones not present through social media.  I'll probably obliviously interact with 10+ people who have committed infidelity today.  I don't need to know who, and if I do somehow know it doesn't affect me at all.

The only reason it went big is because someone knew they were cheating.  If it had been him and his wife, it wouldn't have blown up.  Jeesh.

Do we know if there is a prenup?  If so, does this dude really GAF?  Beyond getting outed on the jumbotron, it's a massive, pubic event that you have to consider people will see you.  It's pretty brazen

What if frogs had wings so their ass didn't scrape the ground when they hop?

It blew up BECAUSE they are both executives and public figures at a pre-IPO company. It isn't hard to validate that they aren't married to eachother, considering they're both on their public "about us" page lol

Maybe in the grand scheme "either theyre having an affair or theyre really shy" wasnt the right line to use by Martin...Ive never seen a Coldplay show so does he take time in between sets to talk to random fans on the jumbotron  in the crowd? Most shy people laugh, and cover their faces with their hands especially if theyre together.

99% of the stadium can see its an affair when the faces go from smiling to the guy literally ducking out and she turns her back while her friend laughs at "oh shit we done fucked up but at least it wasn't me" look on her face. Since its an affair, go ahead and meme away is what I say. This guys bad luck is that in the era of camera phones, his personal life is now forever wrecked.

He could've easily gotten away with this back in the 80s and 90s. probably 00's as most people in the 00s didnt walk around recording everything either

His life is hardly ruined.  He either works it out with the wife or not, that's hardly a ruined life.  Divorces happen all the time; he's a CEO (not his first gig either), plenty of cash, he'll land somewhere on his feet and he'll either be married or not and have a lot less in tbe bank account, but its not like divorce/cheating is life ending.

dude the entire internet is meme'ing this guy into the ground.  This isn't going to be some divorce case. yes we'll forget and move on in the next week or so but its still etched into our memories for eternity.

If i brought this up to you 10 years from now "remember that affair caught at the Coldplay concert"..youd likely remember it...this guy has to deal with it probably every day from here on out especially if hes outted at his company and has to try landing on his feet somewhere. You dont think his new work environment is going to always think of him as the slimy affair guy at the colplay concert?

These interactions that Chris Martin has with fans appears to always be filmed by concert goers and posted on Tiktok/Instagram/Youtube. A couple of weeks ago I saw the videos where the camera in El Paso was turned on the fans watching from a hill next to the Sun Bowl. Martin sung a quick, funny song how they watched the show for free.

My guess is that someone (or many) posted it online asking if anyone knew this guilty-looking couple. Tiktok must have an algorithm that will quickly start to spread an increasing popular video, especially for a city. And it's the type of video that you would watch 2-5 times before swiping to the next.

EDIT: Everything is filmed nowadays and if it has any interest, it's posted online. There is zero expectation of privacy in public. And now that cameras are moving into glasses, it will become even more prevalent. We're not far from a person live streaming as they walk down the street, and AI identifying each person that walks by along with info about them. "Here's John Smith, and that doesn't look like his wife with him."

Of all the people we pile on as a society, these 2 yahoos are among the last I'd feel sorry for.  Not only do you not honor your marriage, but you take it on public display for the world to see.  They got the payoff they sought.

You get made fun of for being that reckless/ deliberate.  It happens.  add in the pontification/ selling points in their public profiles, and IMHO, fire away.
