accidental drowning apparently

Edited by HiggyBaby

Damn, RIP. I wonder what type of drowning this will be. A Matthew Perry type or out on a body water

That's rough. Way too young to be leaving us. Theo was a great character. He had a supporting role, albeit a small one in a great HBO movie about the Tuskegee Airmen.

Quote

Costa Rican National Police told ABC News that Warner drowned near Cocles, a beach in Limon, Costa Rica. They claimed he was caught by a high current in the water and was found Sunday afternoon.

Those ocean currents are no joke. Had a family member when they were a kid way back before my day get swept out in the Gulf of Mexico, never to be seen again.

I like getting in the water when we visit the beach but I don't go out far at all. I go to the pools if I really want to swim.

Terrible way to go.

Swimming against the current as land gets further and further away, until you are too tired to even float, is a horrible way to go.

We used to have something called the Theo principle, in which whatever bad thing you did as a kid recently, Theo would do that week on the show. Lie to his parents, get caught sneaking out, bad grades…. without fail.

Long story short I think I’m about to drown.

Any pics of the soon-to-be widow?

RIP, MJW.  I also enjoyed your brief appearance in the OJ movie on Netflix as Al Cowlings.

Bill was raping, but this is peak television. This same episode is where he tells his dad to just love him for who he is, for getting d's. His dad lays into him for getting d's and just loving him for who he is was the stupidest thing he ever heard. It is such a powerful and relatable thing for parents and kids. It is acted out so well by both, but especially Malcolm Jamal Warner. This master class show of brilliance is tainted is beyond unfortunate it's a tragedy, just like dying at 54.

And yet you enjoy frolicking with whales.

That was the pilot?  It indeed was the peak scene of the show.

There were certainly aspects of the show that were unique to the African American culture. But Joyner’s character and his performance as Theo had universal appeal for the American teen. He was so great.
