August 1Aug 1 Why is that harsh? It’s 100% not. He’s sticking up for his QB, not a past teammate in the nfl.
August 1Aug 1 I know there’s a lot of skepticism about DeAndre Moore, but I personally believe he’s going to have a big year. He flashed at times and I think his hands are better than he’s shown.

August 1Aug 1 Popular Post Day 2 - Bobby Spoiler OTF Premium Impressions - Day 2 By Bobby Burton 4 hours ago - Both Ryan Wingo and DJ Campbell were not at practice today. Texas did not immediately comment but it is not believed to be a soft tissue or bone injury. - Ty’Anthony Smith was sidelined today. He cramped hard yesterday and was held out of drills even though he was suited out. Levon Johnson also was suited out but did not participate. Same with Jonah Williams. - DeAndre Moore was first out to practice yet again. - I thought Moore had the best route running of any receiver during the press viewing period. - Michael Terry and Jamie Ffrench also looked good. It feels like they’ve improved the most from the spring to now. - Jack Endries made a tremendous catch across the middle where he had to elevate and catch the ball away from his body. He made it look almost effortless. It was the first time in practice where you saw the true potential of what he can bring to the team. Jordan Washington also had a good portion of practice. - Arch Manning had a much crisper day throwing the ball. The ball was consistently out on time and accurate. He continues to throw the deep ball with a high level of accuracy. - KJ Lacey earned some plaudits from Sark, too. - With DJ Campbell sidelined, Kyle Flood moved Cole Hutson to right guard and inserted Connor Robertson at center. That’s interesting because it means Robertson is actually ahead of Nate Kibble and Connor Stroh in the pecking order. Of course, Robertson is also a year older than those two and played admirably in a reserve role against OU two years ago. - Punter Jack Bouwmeester had another strong day. The Aussie continues to boom the ball and even brought a comment from Moore, who had to retreat an extra 8-10 yards on Bouwmeester’s first punt of the special teams period. - Warren Roberson was working as a gunner. So were Kaliq Lockett and Graceson Littleton. - More after we hear from players in the post-practice press conference.

If it eases your mind, Lole had more snaps versus ASU and OSU than Collins or Broughton. That was not the case versus Clemson and UGA2. So the rotation may be matchups and gameflow. But yeah, how do we know that now? Maybe we’re just generating discussion.

August 1Aug 1 Im liking what im hearing about the TE position in practice. If endries and Washington are already looking good, definitely a plus. If we can attack the middle of the field more than we have in the past, I think we finally can hit some bombs. Even with worthy and golden, it’s been years since we really hit long bombs at an above average rate. If a TE can pull a safety to him, deep shot time.

I remember the first time I yelled "BREAK HIS FUCKING NECK!" at a TX/OU game and an older woman in Texas gear looked at me with a horrified look on her face. Then I said "well I hope he recovers and has a good life but just can't play football anymore" and she just nodded in a way that indicated okay that's acceptable.

I know various doctors and perhaps even a nurse could tell us what “inverted low ankle sprain” means. It's the most common type of ankle sprain. It's when the ankle rolls laterally (the foot turns inwards). Same thing as when you step on an uneven surface and roll your ankle. Sounds like this was a grade 1 sprain. Not a big deal with standard recovery protocols. Edited August 1Aug 1 by MuellerHorn

August 1Aug 1 Popular Post Buy Stock Now: Impactful Pieces for 2025 (Friday Early AM) - CJ Spoiler Buy Stock Now: Impactful Pieces for 2025 (Friday Early AM) Younger Players Who Will Be Impact Pieces in 2025 Based off the first two days of practice combined with returns from behind the scenes, I wanted to compile a list of players who you would be smart to invest in early as a Texas fan wanted to sound smarter to friends in the group chat. Thank me later. *** Freshman CB Graceson Littleton The easy pick for No. 1 on this list is the cornerback out of Wiregrass Ranch High in Florida. Often times when kids who are off the radar prospects are late additions to the class, they instantly become enigmas when they arrive on campus for the Texas fan base. Thinking of Payton Kirkland, X'Avion Brice to an extent, Aaron Butler is in that conversation, and on and on. But this is different with Littleton. Almost source I have met with over the last two months has mentioned Littleton in some capacity and after an availability with the Texas coaches and coordinators, it is clear that Littleton is going to be a guy Texas leans on this fall. Senior P Jack Bouwmeester Prepare yourself now for the Aussie, Aussie, Aussie chants in DKR this summer. The punting game will be significantly different in 2025 than a year ago. That certainly helps when you add a fourth year guy, but amplifies even more when that fourth year guy is a former All-Conference guy. Bouwmeester often boomed punts 8–12 yards beyond where the returnman was set up on individual reps. I clocked Bouwmeester with hang times of 4.7–4.9 on four different punts this week in practice. The NFL average hang time is around 4.6. Sophomore DL Maraad Watson This defensive line unit is going to be fun in my opinion. Watson certainly isn't the biggest of the bunch in this room – he would have to be mammoth to earn that title – but he has drawn praise based off of what I saw on Wednesday afternoon. The Freshman All-American is going to be in the conversation with Alex January and Cole Brevard as the first three off the sidelines for the season opener vs. Ohio State. "I know this guy is a second year player, but he is new to us – I think Maraad Watson looks great. That has been very encouraging on that front," says Steve Sarkisian. Freshman WR Daylan McCutcheon How deep will the Texas WR circle of trust extend in 2025? That remains to be seen, but Daylan McCutcheon is going to be a part of it. McCutcheon has picked up the playbook as fast as any Texas freshman I can remember under Steve Sarkisian, and his play on the field has backed up the praise. I love the early returns on McCutcheon. Senior CB Jaylon Guilbeau Selecting Guilbeau for this post is going to be a heat check for the rest of the fan base. I believe there is value in buying into the Guilbeau hype this early into fall camp, he is the frontrunner to start at cornerback and based off of a conversation earlier in the week, there is real optimism about his ability to fill the shoes left by the Thorpe winner Jahdae Barron a year ago. Guilbeau has the speed and natural instincts on the outside to do just fine in a system he has now played in for four years. Even in a room with plenty of others chomping at the bit to earn their keep on the outside, it is Guilbeau who I am perhaps the most optimistic of this early into fall camp. Freshman DL Josiah Sharma The Folsom Freight Train was an immediate candidate for this list. In a defensive front that looked spectacular on a whim, it was Sharma who stole the show with his first step and quickness to accompany his 355-pound frame. Texas added five portal defensive linemen in the offseason, but based off of Sharma's first few moments on the field at Denius, I am looking at him like Microsoft stock in 1986. This team is stacked with young talent. Friday - Bobby Spoiler Texas will practice again this evening and then tomorrow as well before taking a well deserved day off on Sunday. ** I’m told that dehydration has hit a couple of players pretty hard. It’s summer camp and it happens to a few just about every year. ** Ethan Burke was effusive in his praise for Travis Shaw yesterday in the post-practice interview session. I was a bit surprised by that because Shaw did not stand out much during the media viewing session. But I asked Burke specifically which interior defensive lineman that he’s lined up next to has impressed him and he singled out Shaw. Shaw, a former five star out of North Carolina, has struggled with his health during his entire college career. Most recently it was a banged up knee. If Shaw is healthy, he could be a bigger piece of the puzzle for Texas than one might otherwise predict because he has some elite traits. ** I left those two days of practice still without a great feel for the Texas secondary. Yet I know that Jaylan Guilbeau is part of whatever solution Pete Kwiatkowski has cooked up. Based on his responses to questions yesterday, Guilbeau appears more likely to start at corner than nickel. Guilbeau said “Coach O”, new corners coach Mark Orphey, has really worked with him in a hands-on fashion, teaching him exactly what he wants in each practice. ** I also left day two of practice with a real appreciation of just how much improvement you can see from young players in a single four-to-five month period. All three of the younger wide receivers who looked significantly “behind” the older players on the roster - Kaliq Lockett, Michael Terry and Jamie Ffrench - have made very big moves forward in that time period. I’m not saying any of them are ready for prime time quite yet. But four months ago, I seriously doubted any of them might be able to help Texas in 2025. Now, with the way they have transformed their bodies and are attacking each practice, I think they’re on a clear path to see the field some this year. Again, I’m not talking about a starting role, but you can see the light at the end of the tunnel for each of them. ** God, watching football for two days was really fun. Hook’Em! Good news on Shaw and some highly-ranked freshmen receiving threats. Edited August 1Aug 1 by MuellerHorn
