October 16Oct 16 6’3 220 running back with speed. Yes please. Yesss. Will be angry but happy if he’s a monster we’ve been missing out on back there

October 16Oct 16 With Terry, how soon can we realistically expect him to get game snaps if his first practices at RB were a practice or two leading up to OU? Not sure he sees the field all that much this year unless we’re in a really bad place at RB injury wise.

Well our #1 back is probably sitting again this weekend and our #4 back just quit for the season. Our #2 back and current starter has missed half of our games this season. What qualifies as "really bad" for you?

I mean we’ve got 3 guys healthy for this weekend, barring any injuries in the next 2 days. If Baxter never comes back, then sure, if there’s an additional injury or we’re blowing out a conference foe.

The situation is bad enough to have necessitated a break glass in case of emergency position-switch. I wouldn't expect him to play non-garbage minutes Saturday, though.

If that’s the case then we really need to call into question the position choice at the start of the year. Considering the guys we brought in at WR, the only viable excuse considering 2 of our 6 RBs were returning from very serious injuries on a short timeline is that Terry wanted to start at WR.

Think it was Gerry H who said that Stewart has yet to attend a Texas football game with his uniform on. Maybe this "emergency" dates back to August, I don't know. I left out that they also said he's been in concussion protocol "for a few weeks". Seems strange that he wasn't ever listed on the weekly injury report, and still isn't, but I admittedly don't know the rules on who has to go on there. Edited October 17Oct 17 by Red Five
October 17Oct 17 And now he dates Madisen Skinner. That's like fucking the prom queen right there.Because he’s a winner. And that’s what winners do.
October 17Oct 17 I’m interested to see Terry get some snaps. I think he’s got possibly better talent than any other back on the roster, once you take into account Baxter’s injury. Those saying he won’t see playing time might be right, but I have a feeling after a few practices they are going to realize RB is a very legitimate option for him for now.

October 17Oct 17 Michael Terry officially to RB with Gibson’s departure. 6’3 220 with decent speed. Lil Jordan Humphrey starter kit. Has real good feet, burst, and vision. His competition looked like middle schoolers in his reel.

I don't think he gets meaningful game snaps at all unless there's further injuries or there's specific plays to utilize him in the passing game. Otherwise, I thikn they're just looking for another depth option to take some empty calorie carries so Wisner isn't burnt out for Georgia and A&M.

Buddy, I don't know how to tell you this without it hurting, but we are in a bad place injury-wise. Wisner is banged up, we may never see Baxter again, Gibson is gone, and we're left with two freshmen RB'S trying to catch up to the speed of the game. Oh, and Sark is square peg round hole with Niblett, all 170 lbs of him, at RB. We need Michael Terry to just hold on to the ball, fuck some linemen up, and block for Arch, or go for a screen. He's a Derrick Henry size RB (not saying he's Derrick Henry) he just has the size to punish people.
October 17Oct 17 Think people need to temper expectations on Terry appearances outside of garbage time. Seems like it’s just a warm body.
October 17Oct 17 So where’s a safe space to get Terry carries? I’d say up 2 touchdowns late at Kentucky sounds right. I wish Stewart well, but as others have pointed out, leaving the team in the middle of the season never works out well. Does anybody some insight on the Baxter injury? All I’ve seen is hamstring with no timetable to return.

October 18Oct 18 Saturday: Bobby Spoiler Saturday By Bobby Burton Weather shouldn’t be much of a factor today. There’s a steady breeze here in Lexington this morning that is expected to continue throughout the day and into the evening. But it’s not overwhelming. Listening to the local weather forecast, any precipitation is expected to hold off until tomorrow. ** A lot of orange has made its way to Lexington. But make no mistake, this is a home game for the Big Blue. I spoke to some Kentucky fans at the hotel this morning. They expect the Longhorns to win, but they are definitely here for the party. It’s a night game, so I expect some real crowd noise. ** With CJ Baxter ruled out, the Texas run game will lean on Tre Wisner again this week. But Texas needs either Christian Clark or James Simon to step up today. It’s time the training wheels are off for both. One of them needs to get 7-10 carries in this game because I’m not sure Wisner can handle another 22 carries after how physical the OU game was a week ago. ** Defensive tackle Maraad Watson remains listed as questionable as of last night. That’s important because one thing Texas must do is stop the run against the Wildcats. Hopefully Watson can give it a go and be effective alongside Hero Kanu, Alex January, Cole Brevard and Travis Shaw. If Watson can’t go, it’ll be interesting to see who takes some of those snaps for depth. Maryland transfer Levon Johnson has seen some action of late. Or does Texas turn to one of the two freshman for depth? ** Texas must build on the effort in the Cotton Bowl last weekend. If the Horns are focused and fresh today, Texas should be 2-0 in October headed to Starkville next week 5-2 overall.
October 18Oct 18 Jeff Banks has to be fired. How the fuck do you fuck up lining up on a punt twice in a row?
October 19Oct 19 My apologies to Ryan Niblett. Best return man we’ve had in a long time. I don’t think he’ll ever work out on offense, but they have to keep trying because we’re devoid of playmakers. Our future opponents are going to shank some punts trying to kick away from him + Banks will abandon his extremely high risk punt block bullshit. Shaw has the talent to be a pro. Please stay healthy, and make some money young man. We all have to pray Sark can learn on the job. He’s 136 games in, so I’m not so sure. The horrific timeout in the first half and not slicking the field goal on 1st down in OT are blinking red lights in game management concerns.
October 19Oct 19 I’m starting to think that counting on Wingo to be our #1 WR was a bad choice. But, and this should be probably said about everything on offense, with this OL it doesn’t really matter.

He's asswater right now and I'm not sure he will improve since he is half a season in as 3 year college player.

If we stay healthy we’ll be a very tough out at the end of season. All these young guys need are game reps and time to develop. Watch some other teams every once in a while. College football is wide open and we have a good of a chance as most teams to make a run. All teams have warts. Try to enjoy the season. Cheers
October 19Oct 19 I think we need to simply accept that this year's version of the Horns isn't destined for greatness. Rip that band aid off, cuz OL and QB play are just subpar. We should be looking for two things: (1) that they can win enough games to keep the program's wheels from falling off; and (2) that we see incremental improvements on offense to give hope for next year. Like if Arch could demonstrate proficiency on at least one basic pass pattern, you know, the kind of thing we see other JAG QBs doing right and left on TV every Saturday. I can't fathom how any QB could look this awful after three years in the system. I've seen disappointments before, but we're in freakish aberration territory at this point.

Both will be painfully close. Zero chance of beating Georgia, and pretty close to zero chance of beating A&M and Vandy.

October 19Oct 19 Texas best offense is Ryan niblett returning a punt and the defense getting a turnover for the offense to only have to move it 20 yards and even then we settle for a FG.
October 19Oct 19 Popular Post Sark took everything that worked against Oklahoma in the running game and flushed it down the toilet. Everyone has been able to run on Kentucky and Sark’s plan was long, slow developing pass plays. It is painfully obvious Sark needs to hire a full time offensive coordinator at this point when commenters on TV are calling our plays out before they happen and we fail to go to the obvious against our opponents weaknesses. Arch and the line were their usual bad yes but this game plan was criminally bad. We have to go back to outside zone combined with motion and misdirection simply because we cannot execute anything else. And if our opponent has a glaring weakness like Kentucky we have to abandon our stupid fascination with plays that have not worked all year long. Total coaching failure from Sark last night.
October 19Oct 19 Arch isn’t bad when he’s rolling out and has to hit a wr on the run. So why we keep trying to run these exotic pass plays when our wr can’t get separation and sark knows our line cannot hold a 8 second block is mind bottling

Vandy and A&M at home and A&M is highly susceptible to a real defense - and they shit the bed when the burnt orange is opposite them. I would hardly say zero chance against those two teams. 10-3 is the ceiling.

October 19Oct 19 I remember bitching a few games ago how our entire offense was Arch trying to heave it deep. Pretty sure we haven't attempted a pass longer than about 20 yards since the Florida game. I don't think Sark has any idea what he wants this offense to be. Edited October 19Oct 19 by Red Five
October 19Oct 19 Nobody on offense plays with any force or “want to”. There is not a single offensive player that is dominating there match up on a game to game basis despite likely being more athletic and a better player than the opponent. Miami lost the other night but they had a kid that should still be in high school playing with more aggression than anything I’ve seen from any player on our offense. Not sure what the deal is there, but the entire offense plays with no confidence.
