Shut up about thread titles, the real problem is the stupid fucking Texas! Fight! thread every Friday before games. We haven't won shit since that started on whatever board it was at the time. So corny and has brought nothing but bad juju.

It's like the wave for Longhorn internet message boards. We almost won this week because South Austin couldn't start it but then troph screwed everything up.

Sir you forgot to say where you’re posting from

When did he get injured?

My guess he got dinged a little at the end of OSU and want to be careful. Wouldnt be shocked if they do the same with Baxter against Sam Houston.

With the playoffs extending the season, expect some load management on RBs to reduce wear and tear.

Game threads are intolerable.

Our offense through 4.5 quarters this season is giving me 2010 vibes. Something is very wrong.

In this case the game thread is a reflection of what you’re seeing.

Didn’t akina used to teach our dbs to turn and look for the ball?  That’s two underthrown balls that could have been easy picks.

12 penalties for 115 yards, Sark not fixing teams mental approach, focus this year needs more discussion

Thought we were a 9-10 team pre season.

Not ready to downgrade yet , really need to see some discipline improvement and 3rd down capability to keep it that way

Sounds like something someone on the game thread would post.

Jesse Palmer reads Surly Horns.

Thought the same when he said "kick the door in".

If @closetojumping were to do another thread title change on here I can see him renaming it “Texas Football 2025 - closetojagging” just to fuck with everyone for a bit. Here we are 2 weeks in and McJaggerson has 50% of our touchdowns to date.

Texas plays like shit half the time under sark but wins. Remains to be seen if this teams has “it” - tOSU was too soon but if this team plays like shit but keeps the W’s rolling that Georgia game will tell us what we need to know, as it sits now though this team could drop 3 or make the semis, no one can really tell shit from the first two weeks.

Whole team took the week off after the loss. That's not how winning teams act.

Sure it is when they are playing a vastly inferior opponent. If it was a conference foe or another big out of conference opponent you would have a point.

The game threads are intolerable. There is so much negativity. I see that some of that has leaked over here. It was a basic game against an inferior opponent and was never in doubt. So they didn’t look dominating. It was good enough.

Weird game. We had about a five minute stretch where we scored four TDs. Outside of that the game was 10-7. 115 yards in penalties, an INT on the goal line, and capped off by the traditional Jerrick Gibson lost fumble.

We better beat Florida by 30.

we're not beating any SEC foe by 30.   Not saying we lose, but this team in it's current state  is not beating any fellow SEC teams by 30.

As soon as Gibson fumbled I said loud: “As is tradition”

This.

Definitely not looking like the “Kick the Sumbitch In” year we were all hoping for.

You gotta enjoy the wins, it’s just that simple. That was what I was trying to say, last year some of the wins were fugly. Welcome to CFB. I get wringing hands after a loss, pretty much can’t do that after a win, not in this era.

well, its a lot easier to enjoy wins when it doesn't feel like your team is punching themselves in their own balls repeatedly

With the transfer portal, one can hope our offensive woes will be alleviated.

With Sark as our playcaller one has to despair our offensive woes won’t be corrected.

Think we are much more green than what we thought we would be coming into the year. Some disappointing performers from the more experienced players, but the team should improve as we’ve seen in the past. Just need a lot more reps.

I would like for the team to go after a legit offensive coordinator after the season. Offense hasn’t improved over the past few years, and it’s the same exact problems.

Has it been pointed out that he’s on pace for a 1,000 yard receiving season

Gut reaction through 2 games….

  • Arch will be just fine. He looks like…a talented but young and inexperienced QB. The offseason hype was always way, way too much.
  • RB group is adequate but lacks a true home run threat. Basically a Jaydon Blue type.
  • WR easily the most disappointing group so far. Wingo and Moore playing like they don’t even want to be here. I guess the transfer dude’s leg fell off or something.
  • TE group is excellent.
  • OL kind of a mixed bag for me. IOL better than expected, but tackles worse. I don’t think Goosby looks like the same guy as last year so far. Baker obviously having some growing pains. Reasonable to expect improvement here IMO.

So, if I'm reading this thread correctly, Texas should just give up on football and become a water polo school?

I’m all for it.

Can the bulk of you idiots keep you in-game reactions contained to, you know, the stupid fucking game threads? I’m going to start encouraging neg attacks and reporting you dolts if you don’t. Fuck.

It’s like none of you watch any other games. You should try that. Texas was first rate compared to most favorites facing non-FCS teams.

I don't know if you've heard, but we might as well not even play OU.

#2 Penn State 34-0 FIU (and it was close most of the game)

#3 LSU 23-7 La Tech

#4 Georgia 28-6 Austin Effing Peay

#8 Clemson 27-16 Troy (losing most of the game)

#10 South Carolina 38-10 SC State (They were losing late in the 1st quarter)

There are valid concerns but it's definitely true that Texas had a better day than most of the top 10.

Hey now these sort of rational takes are not allowed here.

I'd add that Georgia barely had a lead most of the game, lsu not much better.

Call me a regardless but sjst is a better opponent than most of the teams here.

Are we championship caliber nah , but we're definitely in the playoff mix.

Take care of the games in front of us and we're in

Also fuck OU
