And Casey Thompson’s thumb was fine as was Worthy’s broken hand. Unlike a lot of people these days, when I see something on crystal clear 4K HD video, I believe it. Arch had discomfort on the pass he skipped to Wingo.

Surly posters are so amazing they can live inside another person's body and feel everything the other person feels.

and Ewers oblique. it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Those 2 have been consistently graded poorly in both games. Goosby has been consistently graded high. Cole Hutson had a nightmare game vs SHSU.

Stroh: 47.6 PFF grade vs SJSU and 44.9 vs OSU

baker: 59.1 vs SJSU, 41.0 vs OSU

Campbell: 64.3 SJSU,60.7 OSU, (not great either)

Cole Hutson: 47.4 SJSU, 63.2 OSU

Goosby 82.7 San Jose, 73.9 OSU

anything below a 60 is bad.

above a 70 is a solid grade and 80s is very good. Goosby the only OL that has consistently gotten solid grades

What about pass blocking vs run blocking? I am trying to find a silver lining but yikes.

-This defense isn't stingy enough and apparently gives up too many points.

I'm thinking 6 a game should work.  we can win in regulation with a TD/XP or take the game to OT with 2 FG's...where we can then win the game with another FG after the D forces a 20 yard loss on the opponents turn.

realistically, this shouldn't be too much to ask, methinks.

I live inside your mom’s body. She def feels everything

We don't know if Kibble or Brooks will be any better, we just hope so because they couldn't be worse. But it also doesn't help when you lose guys after 3 years because the NFL likes them. OL takes time to develop.

Remember before the season started all the surly experts telling us how much better the offense would be because Arch would be the mad bomber and his running would really open things up? The YPC may go up with being a mad bomber, but so do interceptions and comp. % goes down.

we needed to schedule Southern Illinois State U.   then we'd have SHSU, SISU, SJSU.

but to the point, the SJSU Tongans were stalemating if not winning against our OL.  not great, Bob.

Holy shit, Sark was just asked "Why is Arch's shoulder hurting?" He responded "According to who?"  "Um, well he looks like he's hurting in pictures."  "Well I don't photograph you guys when you're using the bathroom and ask why you're making those faces."

He was prepared for it, it's only been mentioned 50 times since that play on Saturday inspite of multiple pictures in the past showing Manning with the same face and no injured shoulder.

Georgia's line has been struggling this season as well including against Austin Peay last weekend.

Never played football.

I feel that speaks for itself, and I am highly qualified to solve this once and for all.

I brought up some Youtube clips of Arch last year and played them at 0.5 speed, for absolute science purposes.

His angle of release this year, using my Westcott-Manual clear protractor overlaid on the screen, is 42.3°

Last year it was 44.8°

My Surly Diagnosis® -- Arch has a torn rotator cuff, and possibly lupus.

He'll be lucky to live to see Halloween.

If it were just that throw, that would make a lot of sense. Someone posted a video on twitter that showed him making the same face on half a dozen other throws in the game. Apparently that’s part of his throwing ritual. To look like someone just jabbed a fork into his eye socket.

I can believe he had a half dozen other bad throws in the game.

This is what happens when you give 3000 lawyers nothing to do or no consequences for not doing anything.

I refuse to believe Neto is worse than Stroh. Stroh is fucking dog shit, and Flood is clueless. Hutson just sucks, and he's always sucked. Him moving positions just tells us he sucks at more than one position. Try Neto and Robertson and see how they do. I don't care if it's against scrubs, they cannot be worse than those two. I would bet Kibble is better than Stroh.

Flood may be an excellent recruiter but his lack of development has been concerning.

Oh, God, yes. We should have an OL coach who actually puts guys into the NFL!

...wait, that's completely wrong, lemme try again...

A brand new OL hasn't completely gelled by the second game? Concerning!

...wait, no, that's also stupid...

Flood is recruiting and developing OL at as good of a pace as any OL coach we've had, ever, in our history! Clearly we should...

...fire him?

Good God, y'all. What has gotten into you? Who hurt you? Point on the doll where Flood touched you...

The fact that arch has made this same face for years tells me he’s been injured since highschool and we may be fucked

based on the bathroom comments its clear that he's dealing with a painful UTI that the staff is trying to keep under wraps

I'm no X's and O's wizard. Can anyone explain what he was doing on that chop block penalty? It looked like he snapped the ball and then immediately lied down on his belly on purpose.

That's pretty much exactly what I saw, too. I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw that and thought wtf is he doing?

Fucking hell, we covered this in another thread. Is necrophilia an odd kink? Yes! Is that kink illegal in most states? Yes! Does that mean Surly has started kink shaming again? No, god dammit!

That's the worst part.  He was prepared for the question and he came up with 'what does your face look like when you're taking a shit'?

Yep, nothing wrong with a shitty answer for a shitty question.

I would hardly even call them "journalists" at this point. They're just fan boys with iPhone and a YouTube channel and/or a dead newspaper no one reads.

Is this the thread where we talk snap counts and redshirt tracking?  I like to see those.

Kyle Flood is officially ass, my dudes, but I'm starting to give Becton some side eye, as well. OL hasn't displayed sufficient power to blow fools off the LOS since he's been here. But he seems to be doing fine at every other position, so maybe it is all technique after all.

I am God.

The 2023 Michigan Wolverines won the national championship leaning on an elite defense and a running back room that averaged 4.8 (Corum) and 4.2 (Edwards) yards per attempt. Their QB threw 1.8 passing TDs per game and they beat inferior G5 non conference opponents 30-3, 35-7, and 31-6.

The 2025 Texas Longhorns have an elite defense and a running back room averaging 5.0 (Wisner) and 4.5 (Baxter) yards per attempt. Our QB has averaged 2.5 passing TDs per game and we beat an inferior G5 non conference opponent 38-7.

But our team is ass, our OL coach is terrible, our strength coach doesn't know what he's doing, our QB shits when he throws, and the season is doomed unless we start winning games 70-0.

So if you take out a 4:30 second chunk of the game none of what you said is true, which is kind if what everyone is mad about.

If they played like that for let's call it 18 minutes and then put in the backups no one would give a shit...Arch had to play through the late 4th because they needed to give him reps, as a 3rd year in the program going on his 5th start.

The defense is elite. Everything else is really kind of suspect right now if they had to play another team with a pulse.
