Im_smarter_then_you looks in the abyss, there's nothing staring back at him. At that moment, Im_smarter_then_you finds his character. And that is what keeps him out of the abyss.

Wall Street.  First one was a classic.  Id guess the new focus would be around crypto, AI and PE dominance.

This is terrible. This idea.

If your enemy is superior, evade him. If angry, irritate him. If equally matched, fight, and if not split and reevaluate.

You see, this thread is a remake itself.

you fuckin putz.

I think its time to remake the all women remake of Ghostbusters, but with men.

Not a remake, but I always thought someone should adapt The Road Goes on Forever by REK into a movie.

No such such as a remake THAT NEEDS to happen.

In all seriousness this is a great idea.  I'd like to see it directed by Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, or maybe the Coen Brothers.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps [DVD]

This was actually a good (not great) movie when you take Shia LeBeef out of it.  Everyone else is having a good time with their roles, particular Michael Douglas and Josh Broils.  LeBeef is a terrible actor, who basically just repeats the plot line.  "So, Gordon, what you're telling me is...."

The first one is a classic and should never be remade.  You won't get the father/son friction that you got with Martin and Charlie.

First one was absurdly good

I think they also considered Jack Lemmon for Martin Sheen's role.  (Could be wrong.)  You could really feel the father/son dynamic there, especially when they were fighting later in the film.  Both are great actors.  (Charlie didn't get enough credit, especially during his peak.)

The second was as fun watch.  They were all fun characters except for Shia LeBeef.  It's not surprising that he's not really acting anymore.

the problem with a remake...

  • any movie that is good, you don't want to see it get fucked with
  • any movie that is bad, well,... what's the point?

I could see it as a  serious drama, or a dark comedy. I've played the story line in my head out some, but I am no writer. I see it elaborating on their back stories up to the point the meet at the local joint in town, show their life together some, the bust and follow up.
