  • just like we all predicated five years ago, it’s steve sarkisian and james franklin leading the top two teams into the college football season.

Some of you just love being miserable. The fucking rankings mean nothing right now.

Tech in the top 10 and just got a top lineman in 2027…this should not be happening

I think that kid is the top rated lineman in the 2027 class. That’s the stunner.

Well well well. How the turntables. You fuckers laughed at Clemson for having a tiny dick, but it turns out we're both coming up short!

Damn, Penn St from #7 to out with from just one game.  Quite the commentary on the voters’ opinion of UCLA.

I’m not sure what Okie had done to be ranked over Mizzou. Mizzou played a far more impressive game against now the likely SEC fave.

Indiana has the best win of the season of aby team. I like them at 3.

Waiting for the big polls. I think the top 5 above will be the same. I’d have Mizzou over Okie.  ASU, FSU fall out. Texas likely back in around 22 or so.

Missouri and Oklahoma are the teams that they demand to be ranked, regardless of any indication that they suck

We went from 10 to out the poll and OU only drops to 13th?

We lost to a 1-3 team?

I’d put Tech and Oregon over Georgia. They are disjointed and uninspiring. I’d also drop Okie a couple.

Notre Dame, I think, will end the season in the top 10.

Ah fair. Just figure they’d drop more.  Not that I can complain about our ranking

Also our second loss

They only play one decent team in USC (and that’s a stretch) for the rest of the season.

They will probably make the playoffs without having beaten one top 25 team.

Yeah I’m not saying we should be higher.  I have no complaints. I was just thinking OU would fall further than 13 losing to an unranked team and all. And the way people think Texas still sucks. Even after that win.

Give it a month and OU probably won't be ranked.

No love for the undefeated Navy midshipmen nor the undefeated UNLV Rebels YET I see…but I honestly don’t know which if any teams you would move out to move them in. I can imagine though being frustrated to be 6-0 and not be seen good enough to have a ranking.

Navy has a chance with some ranked teams in the second half of the season to move in should they win. UNLV not so much.

Oregon being in the top 10 is ridiculous.

In their defense, they did destroy James Franklin's will to coach.

Who out of Tennessee, Georgia tech, Notre dame or Oklahoma would you move of them?

they are a top 10 team

I'm not arguing the top 5 or even their order, but this is a bit mind-bottling:

  1. Ohio State
  2. Miami
  3. Indiana
  4. Texas A&M
  5. Ole Miss

Four of the top five would smoke the fifth.

Truly don’t give a shit about the ap poll, but Notre dame being 13 with 2 losses beating nobody is hilarious. Meanwhile Texas went from #9 to unranked, then only up to 21 still sitting 7 spots behind the team we just dicked down. Got it.

They really should have beaten the aggies. But if we know anything about SEC refs, they suck.

That Florida loss is going to hang us, like it hung Freshwater and Dart last year.

That all depends on what we do in our remaining six games.

Significant overreaction imo. Indiana is a damn, damn good team that will likely be undefeated going into the Big 10 CCG. Oregon will be favored from here on out in all theirs.

I don’t look at Tennessee, Georgia Tech, LSU, and UGA and think “yeah, they are better than Oregon.” The opposite.

Yea usually when number 8 loses they don’t move to unranked and then if the team beats the 6th ranked they would usually go to 16ish.  The view of our offense is being terrible is weighing in people’s minds.

After watching much of UGA-'barn yesterday, I have to say I'm a little less terrified of the Dawgs.  Still terrified, but not quite so much.

Depends if the ref crew lets Kirby make his own calls

Clearly if you have some kind of variation of red in your uniforms you can expect to be in the top ten. Be it maroon or orangish doesn’t matter. Was red the color used to make it? You’re safe. Don’t have it and you can fuck off from the top five I guess.

Yep. The polls make no sense, and never have. SSDD.

OU should have sat Mateer. He was not well and the backup wouldn’t have been less effective. With their schedule better to take an L and get him healthy for later.

Mateer was making the same YOLO throws I saw him make when I watched them play Michigan and Auburn.  I don't think it was the thumb....it's who he is.  Our defense is just better than those other two teams and contained his running and picked those stupid ass decisions he makes.

This. He did make a couple throws during the game that showed the thumb wasn’t a big issue at all. Some posters on this board noted that  when Mateer was at Washington st, he struggled against good defenses. That’s basically what we saw yesterday.

Well, he was wiping blood on his ass and his hand looked like a certain politician's cankles, so I'm not convinced his thumb had no effect on his performance.  But, he does come across as a Grade A cockmunch, so too bad.

Scares you to death.

Now that I believe we can do some damage, this looks like a really fun season going on. Indiana and A&M in the top 5 with Tech and Georgia Tech in the top 15 is fun as shit.

Anybody can lose any day. Indiana was playing some pretty badass football Saturday. I still haven't watched Tech. A&M's easy schedule will keep them up there if they can win away from home.

We can dogfight our way back into the scrum. Good times!

I've never seen a 1-loss USC team get this level of disrespect.  The one loss was on the road to a Rose Bowl conference rival Illinois because the Trojans scored a little too soon.  We will have our hands full.

They’ll start to get CFP chatter if they beat ND, although I think the Irish win.  Feels like a game where the score will look closer than the game is.

Meanwhile this guy wonders why losing by 4 points total to two teams in the top 5 impressed voters more than losing by 71 points total to two teams in the top 5. Illinois basically didn't take the field against IU. They looked like a middling FCS team.
