Correct. If Miami is in, ND is out.

It should happen but it won”t.

  • just like we all predicated five years ago, it’s steve sarkisian and james franklin leading the top two teams into the college football season.

I think if Miami doesnt go in over ND, then the playoff committee is dead

There's a lot of chit chat about a 'buffer' between ND and Miami because we would be flipped if right next to each other.  A weak move for a weak concept.  But anywho, but

Bama

ND

BYU

Miami

If BYU gets punished for losing then Bama could get punished if they lose.  The family still employs a buffer

Exactly. But he isn't totally wrong. If we are going to coddle Bama for losing in their CCG by a blowout and have 3 losses, why isn't BUY at #11 getting the same treatment? I mean, I know the reason but still. so many keep saying losing these CCG's shouldn't count against you but we see it only applies to certain teams (BYU) and not others (Bama). Both of teams look like ass.

I’m sure that this guy has been dunked on somewhere on this board long ago, but it really is staggering how wrong a guy who gets paid American dollars to opine on sports could get this. He hit on 3, possibly 4 out of 12, and the champion/Heisman are choices that won’t even be in the final grouping.

Poor Miami.  They spent all week attacking Notre Dame. Now they are in a dog fight with bama for the last slot, and afraid they might lose their lottery ticket for an invitation to the SEC.

Pour it on bulldawgs... a blowout bama loss and committee gonna still put crimson tide in.

Horseshit...

bama resume won't be any better than Texas 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Texas will be first one out you watch. ND 9, Miami 10, Texas 11, Alabama 12.

see we didn’t punish Texas.

It’s worse. And not close.

ND 9
Bama 10
Miami 11
BYU 12

committed avoids having to deal with ND vs Miami. Barely punish the CCG losers. Keep Bama in.

Nah they’ll put bama 11, byu 12 and keep Texas 13.

Hmmm... Let's talk about ND who lost the only team with a pulse they played and not mention Texas ....

Texas has the best losses. We just also have the worst.

You believe everything people on TV tell you right?

Appears we agree

Well except for Bama

Yeah, and that lost to a G5 team last year didn't matter either, right?

I guess we will find out the fate of CCGs.  If Bama is left out, CCGs are done.  They can leave BYU at 11 and leave them out without controversy.

if they drop Bama, they almost certainly are moving Miami in to avoid that controversy.  Guessing it also depends on ACC game, if Duke wins they probably move Miami up so the ACC gets a rep (2 including dome really)

Not sure anyone makes real money in today's sports world without consolidating eyeballs. And those are purely controlled by the public. He could go away overnight if folks would just wise up.

Would be great if Notre Dame is left out... 😋

I doubt it though

I agree. They really hope Virginia wins so they have less to deal with.

This is my thinking, but I’m not sure Dr. Pepper is going down without a fight..   there might be some of those giant checks in the name of committee members to make sure CCGs don’t die yet

I fucking hate UGA, they are the shitty embodiment of their coach.

so its either

keep texas out - kill major OOC

keep byu / bama out - kill championship games

keep ND out - they don't have any major wins

keep Miami / Virginia out - kill the acc

pick your poison committee

ND is already ahead in the rankings that won’t change even if I agree, the point is BYU and Bama are out (imo) and Texas will be 11 so they can say their bullshit.

I don’t mind the big games but fuck Notre Dame, cancel those and never play them voluntarily again.

Nope.

said the Texas thing.  THEN said Vandy was great too and the SEC is just that good top to bottom. THEN said that’s not hype that’s reality.  THEN said big 10 was top heavy, SEC was a few years back but not anymore.

it was an SEC comment not a Texas focused comment.

After further thought, I think it shakes out

9 Dome

10 Bama

11 BYU

12 Miami

13 UT

they keep CCGs, the get their Dome in, UM and their 14 fans are pissed but whatever, and apparently we are the only ones who really think we should be in so OOC won’t change that much (SEC will start dropping them because of 9 game  schedule and P4 requirement)

Fox didn’t even let Urban talk about the playoffs after the two trash losses today.  Hmmm. Everyone else was ND and Miami no Bama and no BYU.

LOL... Herbstreit saying Miami in, and either bama or nd last spot

Committee gonna reward bama for playing in conf championship game  so"roll tide" is in.

It's either nd or miami for last spot.

She must give the worst blowjob with her tongue stitched to the bottom of her mouth and the teeth

I can't stomach being slotted below BYU.  That just doesn't make sense.  They have no wins of note.  We have 3.

Alabama is a tougher call, because they did beat UGA once.  But, they lost to OU at home and we beat the snot out of OU at a neutral site.  And, their game against UGA was less competitive by a good margin than ours was.

We will get fucked because we played and lost to tOSU in Columbus, book it.  So much for what the committee says.

My goodness you can be the dumbest fuck on the planet and be a college football expert.

I present you Booger McFarland.

It’s almost a certainty this is what will happen. They can say Bama and BYU were both punished for losing and they did not compare Notre Dame and Miami so head to head doesn’t matter. Blow it up.

One item... wonder if thecommittee will make sure an acc team makes the playoffs ??

  • if Virginia wins, the Miami out
  • Virginia loses, then Miami in

The committee totally ignores Bama’s other games including a comeback from behind against South Carolina and a Ref assisted win just last week against Auburn.    Both were in the bottom tier with UK and MSU which somehow are not held at the same standard as our close comeback wins to those two.    Plus their Florida St loss SHOULD hold the same amount of weight as our loss to Florida and even more so now considering that same Florida team beat FSU last week.

punting BYU and Bama is easy, they didn't get punished for losing, they get punished for getting blown out and embarrassed

This is exactly why the CFP bumped up Alabama ahead of ND to #9 last week, and justified it by calling their seven-point win over 5-7 Auburn "impressive". It was a blatant and transparent attempt to give Bama room to fall if they lost to Georgia.

Punting Bama is not easy when you consider how much money goes with them.

We had three regular season losses. That was pretty easy. Just like Bama last year. Losing in the SECCG is different.

Miami should have common opponent advantage over Alabama, since they beat the same FSU team Alabama lost to. And of course they have H2H over Notre Dame.

Committee got ripped last year for leaving Bama out.

Not gonna do that two years in a row -- "roll tide" is in playoffs
