Committee got ripped last year for leaving Bama out.

Not gonna do that two years in a row -- "roll tide" is in playoffs

No matter what happens, I imagine the CFP will look different next year.

  • just like we all predicated five years ago, it’s steve sarkisian and james franklin leading the top two teams into the college football season.

Bama lost to Michigan after that last year.

Nick Saban isn't walking through that door.

Sark, Freeman, and Diaz should meet at a gas station in Abilene and flip a coin.

For what it's worth, betting odds have ND as a guaranteed lock to make the CFP, and Alabama as the heavy favourite over Miami to grab that final spot.

#9 Notre Dame

#10 Alabama

#11 Miami

#12 Brigham Young

#13 Texas

Bama is ass my dude. Somehow seems right in this shit college football landscape to have these losers in the CFP, though

Texas would castrate Bama or ND. Fucking retarded we have to watch those idiots play aggy.

I guess we will find out the fate of CCGs.  If Bama is left out, CCGs are done.  They can leave BYU at 11 and leave them out without controversy.

if they drop Bama, they almost certainly are moving Miami in to avoid that controversy.  Guessing it also depends on ACC game, if Duke wins they probably move Miami up so the ACC gets a rep (2 including dome really)

Avoid controversy? They love that shit.

Would y’all except a good ol’ high school coin flip?

Or drawing straws or names in a hat?

Would make as much sense as the committee

It would be more honest. I think the Hoosiers look like the only conference champ runner up that is legit.

So the committee is not going to “punish” Bama for playing in an unnecessary game. It was as unnecessary as us playing tOSU.   The CFP needs to tell the Group of 5 to go fuck themselves next year. They can have their own playoff. Nobody wants to see Tulane and JMU get assfucked in round 1 of the CFP.

Heather Dinich just all but confirmed that Notre Dame and Alabama are in during the Duke-UVA halftime show.

They keep using the same clip of the committee "watching football" in Grapevine at mid day. Doesn't inspire much confidence, I'd be impressed if any of them knew what yea it was. Might as well show us a live look at a nursing home.

The Office Thank You GIF

G5 is fucking unnecessary in the current landscape, unless they have an insane resume, but I don't think that's possible with the way things are

College football is so fucked up right now. Bama sucks, G5 is fucking gross, aggy sucks, Ole Miss might be good if not for the fallout, ACC is garbage, Notre Dame is trash, BYU shouldn't even be mentioned

  • So Oregon#5 gets JMU
  • Ole Miss #6 faces Tulane
  • aggy #7  vs #10 bama
  • blOU #8 vs #9 ND

Sounds exactly like the excuses coming from Georgia in the sugar bowl when we cared and they didn’t.

Having shot 105 after birdie birdie more than once...

No longer taking that length?

I should have stopped watching college football when we got blown out by the semen holes back in August and saved myself twelve entire days of life, but I didn’t. The Committee can kiss my ass no matter what they do in the final selection.

Well except we will be sitting a lot of people because we legitimately don’t want to be there and there is no upside. Should be a fun 2s on 2s matchup though

Will we?

Between portalers, NFLers,  getting some next year guys looks, and protecting some high value guys yea I’d think so. We might get a full half of 1s in.

I don't know. I think most returning starters are going to play most of the game.

Legitimately no reason to play anybody that projects to be a big contributor on the team next year. They will benefit from the extra practices they don’t need to play Iowa. The bowl game should be a Lacey, Simon, freshman WR showcase

Oregon and Ole Miss(even without Lane) should completely annihilate their opponents. And hopefully that makes the powers that be reconsider this G5 nonsense. That is the real issue here. Maybe remove the automatic qualifier for conference championships altogether and just take the 12 best teams. Which I doubt would ever really affect the Big10 and SEC champion anyway.

One meadoker nepo baby white running back sits out and now that's a thing. No play, no money.

That's a hell of a job interview for the NFL. I was afraid to play football because I might get hurt.

I guarantee you Sark is pretty fucking interested in getting a 10th win.

Bama:  fuck no.  Why leave our chances to luck when the committee loves us?

Bama is 9-3 against FBS teams this year.  The "extra" game they played was against Eastern Illinois.

If you’re not in the playoff the only thing post season is good for is extra practice. Treat the game like a preseason NFL game. Play Arch, Simmons, etc a couple series, other starters maybe a quarter then mainly go back ups

Someone needs to explain to me, like I'm a 6 year old, how any team from a conference whose chump has 5 losses, and who was not  good enough to even play in the champeenship game should receive any serious consideration for the playoffs. And don't give me this crap about conference scheduling vagaries.

And Bama? Please. Their last month as a shit show of losses and ineptitude.

They have buy in front of us dude. The auto bids themselves didn’t even do us in there is no nuance and it’s ALL counting the loss column apparently. If we don’t cancel every OOC team with a pulse we are regards and deserve to get left out every year due to abject stupidity. I don’t care if we lose a home game with a top 5 team. I don’t care if we go to 16 games. Look at the 2027 schedule and tell me why you should play Michigan with a 3rd year returning 5 star QB in early September while breaking in a brand new QB if the requirement is simply “have as few losses as possible”.

I mean- we are behind BYU according to Heather. There is no point beyond W/L record and title games don’t count in W/L apparently. If it was a concerted effort to destroy any semblance of interest and fun in September how would it look different?

The most money comes from playing in the playoffs man and staying relevant. We aren’t making any more money (in a real sense) hosting OSU v Oregon state. Or Michigan v Purdue. Either way the TV money has been paid and all the seats are sold. The resale and local economy will take a hit but Texas doesn’t care about that at all.

They beat Bama or they would be #15 right now and Texas would be in.

I know the bama win is propping them up but with that broke-ass offense I'd have them behind ND and miami and a toss up with bama as the last team in
