The first time they played in Oxford the Rebels won by 35. Now we have Lane in the Red Stick and Sumrall splitting time between programs. Thing that blows my mind the most about JMU beating Wazzu is that Washington State traveled from Pullam to play AT JMU. Seriously, how bad has Wazzu's program sunk when they not only played Oregon State twice in regular season, but traveled to JMU and Denton to play UNT.
December 7Dec 7 JMU or Tulane are gonna win just to fuck with peoples’ outrage lol.Doubtful but we can hope. Maybe Ole Miss without Lane slips up.

December 7Dec 7 When was the last time 2 teams got their ass beat and dropped 1 spot? That's fucking ridiculous. It's debatable if BYU should even be ranked.See those losses don’t matter, unlike other losses. It’s why there are 3 teams that are ranked above the team that beat their ass.
December 7Dec 7 Ole Miss’ new coach looks like he just caught some tasty waves earlier He got a pizza delivered during the interview

No we don't, because currently some teams are willing to play those game and some teams aren't. If every team goes that route then it's a much different position.

Agreed and when you listen to their games you get the bizarre contrast of what the broadcast crew are trying to convince you about the two teams and what you actually see on the field while they pla Similar to when someone takes you to their favorite restaurant that they raved about they entire drive to and the food just sucks.

December 7Dec 7 Popular Post Just looked up the committee, they are 2 ex-Nebraska folks, Arkansas' AD, and over represented by middle Tennessee state caliber folks (Miami, Ohio, Nevada, MTSU). No wonder they can't even follow their own criteria, they can't even fucking read.
December 7Dec 7 13 minutes ago, The Ace of Aces said: What the actual fuck Yeah, fuck that. You want to be part of the playoff, then join a fucking conference like everyone else. You might get your spot if you play for a conference championship. Otherwise, no special treatment for you.

December 7Dec 7 3 hours ago, BurntOrange&White said: Why they played for a conference championship, we didn’t plus we had 3 regular season losses and they had 2 So did BYU. And it appears it was THEIR loss that kept them out which if the committee had principles, they’d done the same to Bama.

December 7Dec 7 Author This is so pathetic. The CFP gave Alabama credit for beating Tennessee and Missouri because they were "ranked at various points in the year" despite being unranked in the final ratings.
December 7Dec 7 3 hours ago, Pancho said: The problem is if you put Miami in ahead of ND, why weren’t they ranked ahead of them in the previous reveals? Because they were lazy and just went off polls.
December 7Dec 7 Ok as somebody who feels very strongly that the best G5 team belongs in the playoffs I am still kind of blown away they put two of them in there. Was that really necessary? Especially as neither was unbeaten and combined for one top 25 win...against North Texas. What the hell happened there? They just didn't want to touch the Notre Dame vs. Texas vs. BYU thing. Lame.

Duke did this, the rules say “five highest ranked conference champions.” By beating VA for the ACC with five losses, that meant two G5 leagues got a bid.

Since the ACC's conference champion was unranked Duke, they had to pick up an extra G6 champion.
December 7Dec 7 How often are the conferences able to push for changes to the playoffs? I know changes were made to seedings for this year. Was that just good timing or do they reevaluate after every season
December 7Dec 7 James Madison is in because the ACC was awful. That's not the committee's fault and it's not the rules' fault. Top 5 conference champions is a decent rule. Also, James Madison will get killed but they're probably also better than UVA and Duke. None of the 3 are among the best 25 teams in the country, though. Edited December 7Dec 7 by Huckleberry

The CFP gave Alabama credit for beating Tennessee and Missouri because they were "ranked at various points in the year" despite being unranked in the final ratings. When you all start realizing the problem is the people in the room, then you’ll stop asking rational, logical questions. The committee is made up of ADs and former coaches. 95% of ADs and former coaches are just boneheaded adult frat bro idiots who have no idea what logic, policy, and critical analysis really means. They just know “Alabama is Alabama so they must be good” and “Texas has a 3 in that column and no one else does so not good.” This is also part of the problem.
December 7Dec 7 That ND got shut out of the playoffs, then threw an incredibly stupid shit fit about it, pleases me more than Texas getting locked out in favor of a large number of teams we would clearly beat upsets me. Mostly because a Texas vs Michigan Citrus Bowl is going to get far, far better TV ratings than most of these playoff games. And Texas and Notre Dame getting locked out guarantees expansion.
