Just wait until you see what happens to Hulu after the Mouse breaks YTTV.

Alvarado-Sulphur springs is gonna be great next week. Sulphur springs gets its starting qb back.

Ft Worth might have the worst teams in any major city in Texas.

Was that way when I went to TCU and hasn't changed in decades.

Also 4A

Decatur Eagles 35
Castleberry Fightin Fuds 7

Decatur announcers are asshats complaining that the refs are calling the game one sided for CHS.

Those Decatur honks doing their broadcast are absolutely horrible. Insufferable cunts.

great game last yr as well…. not sure Alvarado has as many weapons as last yr.

77-0 Alvarado final

and Yes FWISD has incredibly bad teams yr after yr. Its mind blowing how they can struggle so much.

Just got home but I think the final score of the Aledo Saginaw game was 80-12. Last five games for Aledo have out scored opponents 363-22. [emoji15]

I've thought about this for years.  I graduated from Paschal in 1978.  We were so-so in football at the time, but we were a state power in basketball and good in baseball.  As you Fort Worth folks know, PHS has been one of the most dreadful football programs in the upper divisions for decades, beginning I believe in the 1980s.  But for several years, Arlington Heights, Southwest and Eastern Hills fielded some good - not great, but good - teams that regularly sent players to play football on scholarship for good college programs.  Everyone knows that when the suburban schools open up it usually preordains a slow death for "inner city" schools.  But Fort Worth struggled in football even as they were more than competitive in basketball and baseball.  But it feels like there was more to it than simply suburban schools popping up.  What it is/was, I honestly don't know.

Decatur folks by and large are a disagreeable bunch

speaking of Paschal… Carter Riverside side basically empty on giant home side so we googled “largest crowd ever” @ Farrington Field….. almost 25k 1944 matchup Paschal and FW Northside…. times have def changed!  Fun fact of the nite.

North Crowley is actually in Fort Worth and not Crowley and they just won state last year. Of course, they're not FWISD though, so maybe they don't really count.

Fort Worth has always had to many schools. The talent is spread out to much. The lower performing schools are the areas that have real talent, but as a parent why send your kids to Dunbar or Wyatt when you can easily send that same kid to North Crowley, Martin or Aledo. I could name 25 D1 athletes in the last 10-15 years who went to FWISD middle schools but went to high school outside of the district. Several schools need to close or combine but they won’t/can’t due to neighborhood issues or communities being too prideful.

North Crowley is basically a Fort Worth ISD team. Majority of those kids are FWISD kids or their parents were former FWISD students and athletes. Closing the eastside projects and several apartments on the Southside and pushing those families to new housing in the southwest side also played a big role in North Crowley taking off.

The biggest thing for North Crowley may have been the opening of the Chisholm Trail Pkwy.

Yeah, was great to see Cooper Reid catch a long TD on his last play at Tiger Stadium.

Rematch with Harlan up next. Hope to get revenge on last year's loss.

Rrally doesn't mean squat, North Shore and Summer Creek both have Houston addresses but are in 2 different ISDs and neither are HISD. Lamar HS in HISD played for the state championship in 2012 but haven't been past round 3 since then and I don't think any other HISD school has either

Harlan has some pretty elite speed for a high school team. You don’t usually see that out of SA.

3A Div II Undefeated teams in the bracket

Reg 1 Wall

Reg 2 technically no one, but Gunter is 9-1.  The loss was to a bigger Celina who currently is 11-0.

Reg 3 Troup

Reg 4 Tidehaven and George West

Time to put up or shut up tonight!

Whatcha' think there @Lou Sassle?

LT with a goal line stand vs Round Rock, take over at the 1 yard line, 3rd and 10 from the 1 yard line…. 99 yard touch down pass. Fucking legit. Wow.

Chaps 14 Snek 10 at half

We slept walked the 1st quarter but woke up in the 2nd. 24-0 TWCP at half. Ike has zero offense. We got them in a 4th and 46 right before halftime which set up a punt return to their two yard line  with 0:30 left

Westfield falls into that category as well as their address is in Houston.

They are down though and this might be their weakest team in several years.

North Crowley's enrollment I believe is less than 3,000 so they aren't a huge school, but I suspect one big difference is they do support the programs unlike the inner city schools.

Way too much money never finds its way to the kids in those bigger districts and you don't see the same level of support behind the programs in the HISD programs and North Shore, Summer Creek, or Westfield.

If I recall correctly, Lamar is a magnet school and that allows them to attract players from inside the HISD system similar to Bellaire and all those baseball players and Yates.

Vandegrift has to play Westlake in round 1, so they’re getting bounced. Not often you see the defending champ go out first round.
Not so fast my friend...

We will play Cy-Lakes in round two.  They beat Magnolia 21-12.  Some of the DCTF people had Magnolia as a sleeper in our bracket and figured Cy-Lakes would be in "just happy to be there mode".  Guess not.

Willis edged Westfield 23-20 and Grand Oaks beat Aldine Nimitz.  TWHS plays tomorrow but so far 13-6A is 3-0.

Lexington 3 points away from being undefeated. Snuck out a 42-41 win tonight. Sucks they have to go against George West next

Brenham beat Texas City 28-7.  After their first drive, the Stingarees couldn't do much of anything on offense.  The Cubs move on to face Liberty Hill next week.

They are in a tough part of the bracket.  Poth will walk EB next week and twice on Sunday.  So, it will not get any easier.  Tidehaven will have their hands full with Stockton.

Wall, Troup, Gunter, Tidehaven and George West all move on to the next round.

Aldine Eisenhower may have had 100 fans in their stands last night.  Their band was about 40 kids, ours is 240.  It’s kind of sad to see these schools with so little support.

Does OD Wyatt still hold the 4x100 national record, or was that broken recently (I think it was) . My coach when I was at Central always told us the story of that race.
