NC had been flirting with disaster all year. All 3 of their wins were by single digits. 6A playoffs could be really exciting this year, its more open than usual.

Duncanville just lost to Waxahachie 28-27. Like I said, 6A is way more open than usual. Playoffs should be fun.

The KVUE Friday Football Fever people are pretty goofy but I kinda like it.

I remember back in the late 80’s seeing the KVUE highlights for games. The guy who will forever stand out to me was Vic Lombardi. I remember he penned the nickname Pablo “Picasso” Jass for the sophomore QB for Lampasas back in 1994. I believe he gave him that nickname either after Lampasas beat LBJ in the playoff upset or not long before that.

He was the local Austin version of an ESPN caliber guy. Glad to see all the success he has had back home in Denver as well as beating cancer.

El Maton Tidehaven 38 Ganado 12

Matchup of 2A heavyweights goes down with DII Tidehaven taking out defending DI State Champion Indians at Ganado. This leaves Tidehaven 4-0 and hands Ganado their first loss in 17 games going back to East Bernard early last season. Both will almost certainly be contenders in the postseason for 2025.

Duncanville DE 4 start recruit KJ Ford slapped a Wax player in the face during the handshake line. Think he's headed to SMU

For the record, Tidehaven is 3A D2 while Ganado is 2A D1.  We went to the game Friday night and Tidehaven is rock solid and should roll through Region IV with ease. Ganado is still very solid and I predict a Region IV final of Ganado vs Refugio.

Good catch.  My reading of  the index on DCTF was faulty.

To your point, ain't nobody with a brain looking at the result and thinking Ganado is ripe for the picking.

This kick would have won it for Boling vs Ganado. Double doink off the post

That show has gone to shit. Jeffrey Jones is a complete goober, constantly getting facts wrong. And three (I think) years in and he still thinks Vandegrift is Vandergriff.

I thought it was entertaining for what it’s supposed to be, it’s not ESPN Texas high school football devision.  I just don’t usually expect personality put into it so I enjoy the quirkiness of it over the old days of so and so beat 24-14.

I’ve read and debated Vandergift vs vandergiff in my head after a gummy, too many times.

Who’s the stud carrying Tidehaven?   The small towns that come competly out of no where it’s usually someone.

The Boys from Blessing are 37 -7 over the past 3 seasons, and are 4-0 in their 2025 campaign.  Paraphrasing from their DCTF excerpt: Tidehaven was supposed to be in a rebuilding year after going to the State Final in 2023, but put together a run to the State Semifinals in 2024. They return 9 offensive and 8 defensive starters.  The do return All=State DB TJ Galvan who is listed at 5'8", 170, 4.5.

Their coach David Lucio has been there 9 seasons.  In the smaller schools that can be as much a barometer as anything else.

Edinburg Vela junior DB Caidyn Hoover has 8 picks so far this year, the most in the whole country.

So Dak has a kid playing in the Valley?

8 for a season is a great year.  in 4 games, it's insane.

All 8 came in the last 2 games actually, a 5 pick game and a 3 pick game.

tangent rant: Dak had a legit case for being the best QB in the league those first 2 games, you cowboys fans have no idea how good he actually is. You did the same thing with Romo.

I'm not a Cowboy fan. I was from 1977 to January of 24.

Romo was magnitudes better than Dak.  Dallas massively overpaid for the player Dak is.

Texas High School football is better than any of that!

4-9 combined playoff record for those two. Career earnings approaching 500 million. Never change Helo

Shockingly you're wrong here as well. He had 5 picks in week 1 vs Edinburgh North. The leading receiver for Edinburgh North had 4 receptions.

His 3 pick game came in week 4 vs Mission.

This begs a very important question. Is Caidyn Hoover one of Helo's Homies?!

Caidyn, from Mazatlán?

My man Camden Hughes with another solid effort last week against a pretty bad Broke Ridge team.   On the season he has a 0.681 completion %, 1,221 yards, 17 TDs and 0 INT. TWCP has another favorable matchup against Grand Oaks this week. Then it’s Willis the following week.

So is Arlington heights (fort worth) actually solid to good or are they just beating absolute  cripples? Looks like they’ve scored 240 and not given up a point so far this yr.

Tallest midget in FWISD. They’ll likely lose to #4 out of District 3 if they win their own District.

Hey now, Saginaw beat Azle in last year's 3(4) vs 4(1)

But yeah FWISD football is a wasteland. Darrent Williams weeps

Heights coach has 3 sons on the team. 2 anchor the D line and the third is the running back

They’re solid. They went 9-2 last year and lost to Richland in the playoffs by a respectable score.

True. Ifs and buts, but if Azle had any clue how to run the clock properly with a lead they win that game. Hats off to Sagnasty though for sticking with it.

Interesting games on my radar tonight.

Sealy v Needville

Port Lavaca Calhoun v Mexico City MX

Columbus v Bellville

Silsbee v Hitchcock

Tidehaven v Wallis Brazos   53 is least amount of points scored by Brazos this year.  Their D in 4 games have given up 56 points.  Tigers better have a rested defense.  Not saying Brazos has faced super stellar competition, but someone is doing some scoring.

Port Lavaca 16 Mexico City  0  half

Columbus 7  Bellville 0   half

Sealy 21  Needville 21  half

Silsbee 10  Hitchcock 6  half

Tidehaven  7  Wallis Brazos 19   2nd

Brenham beats Gilmer 49-7.  The Cubs avenge their only regular season loss from last year.

Lampasas gets a 35-28 win against Waco U. London Smith had a great Hail Mary catch to end the 1st half and put them up 21-14. Waco U. can’t stop the run though and honestly they just need better coaching. I don’t think that’s a real shocking thing to say. Lampasas won because of coaching and line play. Rogers should get a statue out in front of Badger Field for how he has made Lampasas consistently good and really entertaining.

It would’ve been cool to see Ty Johnson square off against Smith if he hadn’t transferred out to SoCal, but Smith is pretty good all the same. The Badgers should finish the regular season 9-1 and go three rounds again. That would constitute a really good year considering the amount of new faces on both sides of the ball.

Tidehaven continues to roll. They came out flat to previously undefeated Brazos, and fell behind 19-7 midway through the 2nd quarter before waking the fuck up. They outscored brazos 49-6 from that point on.

Waco U has been better recently. They've had a good run of athletes but both Waco schools are hurting.

It's probably not a coincidence that Midway is better, China Spring and La Vega are always good and Connolly is usually pretty tough.

Austin High beat Del Valle last night 35-7.
First win on season for AHS. Going to get face raped vs Drip Thursday but good to get the W last night

London Morgan, Rouse: The senior has a rocket for an arm and can handle more than 40 attempts a game. Heading into his third year as the Raiders’ starter, he threw for 2,649 yards and 24 TDs last fall.

I watched these guys last night for a half. QB can throw it and also has some serious wheels.

Rouse. He's not super slippery but can cover ground fast once he takes off into the open field.

Waxahachie Wk 4, 28-27 over Duncanville.

Wk 5, 40-17 @ Desoto.

#1Aledo @ #4Denton Ryan this week. Will be shown on WFAA+.

Aledo’s district streak is currently at 130 games. Last district loss was 2007.

Aledo does not have the big strike offense they’ve been accustomed to, but are still very big and experienced on both lines. Hate to be that guy, but I honestly don’t think they’ll be able to keep up with the big play ability of Ryan. I obviously will be cheering for them but just don’t see them coming away with the W.

Not Texas, but this is dope as hell. McCallie & Baylor are the 2 big private schools in Chatanooga and this hype video is fucking awesome.

Their respective tuition/boarding costs are no joke...

One year at either is basically what I spent for my entire degree at UT from 2009-2013.

Lampasas playing a Thursday night game against Lorena on the DCTX channel. The game is free apparently. The Badgers have three sophomores on the offensive line that are really good. Badgers scored on a 58 yard TD run on the first play from scrimmage.
