October 18Oct 18 Born and raised in Lexington but bourbon is one thing I could never get a taste for. Lived for over a year just down the road from Wild Turkey and could smell it in the air most days.

Maybe if I have enough 6mg nicotine pouches I'll get into it with some Wildcats. We are planning on being in Lexington early afternoon maybe 1:30 and just wandering around. Maybe find somewhere to game watch although I'll probably be hard pressed to find SMU/Clemson on anywhere with today's slate. I am open for suggestions from anyone else that's going to be in Lexington or if anyone wants to say hi.
October 18Oct 18 Popular Post Good sign for the Horns. Found this pic in an art gallery in Louisville heading back to hotel last night.
October 18Oct 18 Popular Post First time here. Texas native. Been in Lexington 23 years. Is there a gathering at B&B? Or, a tailgate? I'd love to join and hear your stories. I didn't attend Texas. My niece did, and my nephew is at McCombs currently.
October 18Oct 18 Hit three distilleries yesterday; Kentucky Artisan (they do Jeffersons and a couple other brands) Buffalo Trace Four Roses They were all dramatically different from one another. Artisan is a small operation but the cool thing was tasting covered three different distillers Buffalo Trace was Disneyland with all the lines etc. They have an amazing room full of every bourbon you wish you could add to your collection Then Four Roses was kind of in between in terms of size/scope. I liked their Bourbon the least frankly but it was still a good time We grabbed some local beer called “Cougar Bait” and drank that in car (in case any LEO on board we had a driver) it was pretty good Kind of the KY equivalent of “Dallas Blonde” in terms of taste Was good day that led into good evening We are headed to Troll Pub this morning to watch early games Hook ‘em

Made for a good weekend.

Bourbon advertising plastered everywhere. Little kiosk set up with 20 bottles of liquor serving cocktails like 20 steps from our gate. Free bourbon samples as you exit to the parking lot. Also shocked at how many hotels there are in downtown Lousville. It's like 80% of the high rises. The Omni is massive. Guess this is a pretty big tourism city year round between the golf/booze/horses. There was even a big hotel we could see across the river on the Indiana side. SMU volleyball handed the #4 Cardinals a fat 5 set L just down the street last night - so the sports vibes are off to a good start this weekend. Let's hope it continues. And - the Cal field hockey team is sharing our hotel. Just ran into 5 of them on the elevator - one of them was attractive. They were all white girls speaking Spanish so I'm assuming Cal is recruiting from somewhere internationally. The ACC is such a funny conference. We are headed to The Brown Hotel for brunch then off to Lexington. 🤘 IMG_20251018_095937.heic
October 18Oct 18 At least try and hit up Louisville Slugger before heading East, Ali Museum may be too time consuming. Oh, and pic of hot brown, please. Edited October 18Oct 18 by Underdog

October 18Oct 18 Arrived Wednesday. Keeneland Thursday. The weather was perfect. Gorgeous grounds and a good time. I stayed for all 9 races and only won one bet. Louisville Friday. Louisville slugger factory tour and Peerless tasting. We stopped by Green River and Bardstown storefronts. Mussels and Burgers makes an exxxclelent burger. We were home in time to watch Miami shit the bed….

October 18Oct 18 How many of you gangsters from this forum are at the game? I thought about going, but backed out. Now I wish I would have done it. Oh boy, now I get to go to Starksville instead! Yay! Edited October 18Oct 18 by William Bludworth
October 18Oct 18 Lexington traffic is AIDS right now with this Scarefest thing and there's a No Kings protest going on, too.

October 18Oct 18 We checked out KSBar - 2 hour wait for a table. Tilted Kilt next door has more space available but is filling up. Probably going to hang out here for a bit and watch the 2H of the nooners. Where is everyone else at?
October 18Oct 18 At keeneland today. Bevo is running the 7th race. I plan on running the 9th right before last call
October 18Oct 18 I'm with my 3 kids under 8YO so we're playing it by ear. Probably eating at Five Guys and hitting a few tailgates before taking our seats in section 5. We'll be the borderline freakishly tall family in burnt orange. Look up and say hi. Edited October 18Oct 18 by KYHorn
October 18Oct 18 Getting ready to get in limo to head to Lexington. Fun time at Troll Pub. Met a couple from LSU and the wife said that 1) she hates BK and 2) he had an affair with her best friend and broke it off because his wife found out and threatened divorce. Some random LSU gossip for you on this Saturday morning. See y'all at the game.
October 18Oct 18 Author Busy, great trip so far. Buffalo Trace and Keeneland yesterday. Amazing meal at Deauville. Claiborne Farm this morning (where Secretariat stood and buried) then Fasig-Tipton. Son-in-law works there. Beautiful grounds. At B&B now. Good place. Mostly Texas fans. Good sign today. Edited October 18Oct 18 by TxEx84
October 18Oct 18 Identify yourselves! My first plan (meetup with friends 4 miles from campus then uber to the game) fell through. We audibled and found parking near the stadium in hopes of finding a tailgate I could pay to get into (bricked). Ended up grabbing a prime rib samdwhich and standing around waiting for the team bus to show up. Kentucky needs to step up their game day options. They need at least one trailer selling drinks. They would have made a killing. Many regrets not heading to B&B now. Hook ‘em.

I have to say - I'm pretty impressed with the talent here. Both current students and alumni. Better than I expected.
