Because you have to be really desperate for your football fix to watch these, and I didn't see a more appropriate thread. If I missed it... who gives a shit? It's the preseason. This thread will likely only involve me chatting with myself anyway.

The guys on the field aren't the only third stringers

Some idiot during the Giants game said that Jaxson Dart showed today that he wasn't fazed by the bright lights of the NFL.

Let's break down how stupid this comment is.

  1. It's a fuckin preseason game.
  2. He plays in one of the big two college conferences. The AVERAGE capacity of a stadium in the SEC is 80k, 14k more than the Giants' stadium. His home stadium is one of the smaller ones, and approximately the same size.
  3. IT'S A FUCKIN PRESEASON GAME

tbf he looked good

They're showing Shedeur highlights ad nauseam

But if you watched the game yesterday, you also saw the lowlights. For every great play, there's a real head-scratcher.

Anthony Richardson has an owee on his fingy-wingy

...and it's his own goddamn fault. Tell 'em why, Kurt:

Stay tuned for endless arguments about Quinn Ewers.

i also didn't realize lil jordan humphrey was a giant until he took the field for them today

stetson bennett looking really good as a ram right now

if you needed a reason to hate the rams, Stoops' kid is on the field for 'em right now (I did not need a reason)

Was passively watching the Seahawks Raiders game a couple days ago with no sound and no fucks given because game 1 but a tie?  Dumb question (amnesty) worthy I’m sure; no OT in preseason?

Get used to it.

Jaxon Dart looked better than Sheduer

1st round vs 5th round. Duh.

Anybody have a good not so legal streamer for the games?

I used to love NFL preseason and gobble up all I could with every team I could watch. But it kept getting more and more lame as teams don't value any significant reps to players that will actually be on the team. I just like watching the young developing players and the unheralded underdog guys making good. But it has become mostly a waste of time Practice Squad audition to sell a few tickets to fans who can't afford the real games, and start media hype for the season from the paid yakkers. You don't learn much at all from preseason. The first few weeks of the season are the real preseason now, which is why is typically sloppy AF.

But I still watch some until I get lulled to sleep.

Dougo - of course only reason to watch is to get first glimpse of certain rookies. Just to see.

If you go to the NFL youtube channel they have condensed highlights of preseason games that give you most of the even marginally notable plays in about 12 minutes.

Seems like the Dolphins secondary knows how to play.

Zach Wilson still sucks.

The Dolphins' receivers are pretty damn good.

Based on the title, I was thinking this was the Cowboys thread. In retrospect it isn't the Preseason thread of DOOM. My bad.

2 incomplete passes, and honestly his first throw was bad.  He looked nervous and didn't step into it at all, just floated it out there.

Led by the running of Ollie Gordon and the focus and sheer determination of Quinn Ewers, the Dolphins have retaken the lead.

0 for 4 and a lost fumble

It can only get better.

Three of those were on-target throws, and the receivers just had hands of stone.

With Matheson being the first guy to actually haul in one of his on-target throws (I have Ewers at 4 of 6 on-target) and then he lands on his head and gets injured. ai yaa

Quinn gets it back with 1:43 left at his own 35 in a tie game.

Time to put a drive together and win the game.

Sam went 6/10 for 55 and a TD yesterday. Outplayed Bo Nix.

Watching that game now. Nix's grounding-safety was a terrible play.

In related news, Alfred Collins is a huge motherfuckin' Dude. Great to see him on the field, though so far it looks like he's just absorbing blockers.

As much as I wanted to believe this, actually watching them play, I can't agree. Might've had a better stat line, but he wasn't making good reads, he had a couple of safe throws, a LOT of bad throws, and against the 49ers' 3rd-stringers.

I love Sam, love the Broncos, but he will never sniff a starting NFL QB role.
