We've had that issue on our fleet more than a handful of times. It sucks. Glad it was( only) 2 days for you. Right now the def tank sensors are on back order. A driver I know is being told 7-8 weeks for the part to get in. What the fuck do you do in a situation like that? I try to be smart with my money and can afford quite a bit of down time but 8 weeks with no money coming in would be really hard.. I would say 90% of guys out here would go under. talking a friend we figure the only way to keep running would be doing the weight loss program. ( trucker speak for deletion of the DEF system)
August 17, 20214 yr Author Car missed its exit and did a u-turn on the interstate. Hard to see with the camera but they were in my lane going the wrong way before they took the median.
August 18, 20214 yr People don't understand how fucking weird that is for oncoming drivers. Hopefully it ended well?

Are they super-expensive?

I was driving back from Colorado a little over a week ago coming down I-25 south between Trinidad and Raton, and some dipshit in a jeep was driving 50+ mph against traffic on the interstate on the shoulder. Scared the shit out of us. I just kept going straight because any evasive action could have resulted in a collision.

August 30, 20214 yr Besides overhead clearance, that seems like a prime responsibility of those escort teams. Never done it and don't know their regs, but would seem to be some of the most fundamental shit there.
August 30, 20214 yr Driver should have never stopped on the tracks. If there's a problem, stop before or power through. But never stop on the track. Pos rep to the structural integrity of the blade.

August 30, 20214 yr ^ That's awesome. I'm stealing that to circulate. Assuming the driver of the tractor survived. Looked bad, but not fatal. Diesel locomotive. Diesel powered tractor-trailer. Unleaded fuel convoy pickup. Electronic train crossing, powered by coal. In the middle of it all, a blade to harness the power of the wind for green energy. The loser? Everybody involved. September 3, 20214 yr Speaking of oversize A truck hauling a large concrete beam got wedged under a Rockwall overpass Thursday, blocking traffic on a major road during the evening rush hour. Officials said about 6:30 p.m. that the 70-ton beam was stuck on State Highway 205 beneath Interstate 30. It was not clear how, exactly, the truck came to be in such a predicament. https://www.dallasnews.com/news/2021/09/02/70-ton-concrete-beam-gets-stuck-under-rockwall-overpass-blocking-major-road/

He had to shoot the gap between the pole and bridge. Looks to me like he waited just a bit too long to start his turn and ran into problems with the pole. When he tried to back up it all went to hell. Or I could be completely wrong. Haven't hauled oversize since '96.
