Anyone else into Goose? Been following them for a couple of years now and have seen them live a handful of times.

They're easy to peg as a "jam band" and they do have songs and a style that lends itself to that label, but I'd say they're more of a hybrid with indie rock/rock. Rick Mitorotonda is a certified badass, both on the strings and on the mic.

I originally got into them when I heard the below cover of Bon Iver's AUATC.

That led me to this cover - Shama Lama Ding Dong from Animal House

But their own stuff is beautiful too. Below are a few, including their just released Madalena from their new album. That one sounds more like Jackson Browne, tbh. Anyway, anyone else familiar or a fan?

Do they do any covers of You've Lost that Loving Feeling or Great Balls of Fire?

Edit: Well, shit, this got moved to Music. My joke was a lot funnier when this was accidently posted in Movies.

I first became aware of them about a year ago.  I liked what I initially heard.  I'm allergic to jam bands, and so when I dug in deeper I found some stuff I didn't like, but they do have a lot of good songs, and they can definitely play.

I did not know them before ACL 2022.  They were a highlight of my weekend.

Their new album, Chain Yer Dragon, has been playing on a loop the last several days. Fallen in love with "Jed Stone," apparently their ballad about the notorious drifter "Tennessee Jed" from the GD. Give it a listen:

That has a bit of a Bob Schneider vibe to it.

Hadn't thought of that. That's a pretty good comp for that song.

Their music can be all over the place, stylistically. This one sounds like its ripped straight from Fleetwood Mac

Had a much better time at Goose tonight than I would have if I stayed home to watch the Illini game.

It was a fun time. Really intense, upbeat, energetic, generally positive vibe - those dudes really play hard.

I'm not quite sure what I expected, but somewhat of a strange crowd. Largest percentage was what I would describe as the college educated and white-collar subset of Dead fans, but also a surprising representation of dudes in flatbrim caps who would look right at home driving a trophy truck with a motocross bike in the back around Orange County or San Diego, frat boys of all ages, older suburban couples who look like the Coldplay cheaters, college kids, and a fair number of high school kids. Fewer wooks and spunions than I expected.

One of my favorites.  Their side hustle Orebolo is pretty bad ass for acoustic versions of their stuff.

The only thing I know about this band is that they keep having to kick dudes out for sexual assault, and gaptoothsnodgrass makes fun of them a lot on instagram.

I'd say that matches my experience with the two shows I've seen, although I didn't see much of the flat-brim truck crowd. I did hear that the Barstool community has been promoting/sharing goose stuff as of late, which may explain that. Definitely fewer wooks
