September 12, 20187 yr Taking the dog to the vet school for surgery. Haven't been to that shithole in 25 years. Recs for lodging and restaurants?
September 13, 20187 yr Author That's what I figured. Wonder how much the vet school prices have been jacked up to cover the stadium renovations and Jimbo's salary? Edited September 13, 20187 yr by Deej
September 13, 20187 yr Didn't ya hear? With all the profit aggy is making in football, all the local vets are dropping their prices! Prayers for your pup.
September 13, 20187 yr I'm not sure about recs. I was there a few months ago, and that place has changed dramatically from when you were last there. I'm sure @Walden Ponderer can give you some suggestions.
September 13, 20187 yr Thoughts and prayers, for the dog, and for you having to spend a few nights in that shithole.
September 13, 20187 yr Author If I put SEC stickers all over myself and my car, I should get preferential treatment, no?
September 13, 20187 yr I'm referencing the recruiting thread on "the other site" where aggy claimed we were giving recruits F250s to come to Austin.
September 13, 20187 yr Author I know. I was thinking of driving into town with a gold Trans Am just to trigger them.
September 13, 20187 yr Fargo's for barbeque, Grub burger bar for burgers, if you have time for a movie, Star Cinema Grill has a great sound system, and everything on the menu is good. The Republic Steakhouse is good for steak and whiskey, Veritas is the best upscale place (went to a bat mitzvah there last year, and the parents dropped 5 grand on a party for 100 people... Money well spent). Best bar is the Fox and Hound. Rx Pizza in Bryan is legit.
September 13, 20187 yr Oh, there's also a creperie and an ice cream shop where they freeze the ice cream right in front of you, using liquid nitrogen. Honestly, if you spend most of your time in Century Square (next to "The Green") you won't be wasting your time like you would if you went anywhere else in College Station. Best Mexican joint is Casa Rodriguez, in Bryan.
September 13, 20187 yr Author Thanks. If you're up for a drink, I'm there from Tuesday to Thursday. My treat.
September 13, 20187 yr "I'm just here to fuck Jimbo's wife."She is currently busy with other customers. Please have a seat. There are coffee and refreshments for you while you wait.Sent from my SM-J727T using Tapatalk
September 13, 20187 yr There's a hotel called The George that is right in the area Walden described. Stay there. It's kind of like the Mexican resorts these days. Stay close to the hotel and you should be OK. The crepe place he mentioned is legit. https://www.thegeorgetexas.com/

September 13, 20187 yr Author Got the info on the vet we are seeing. Looked up on their website and it said "Feline specialist". Damnit, aggy. I have a dog.
September 13, 20187 yr Seriously. I'd commute in from somewhere else. Huntsville? Brenham? Somerville? Bernard Edited September 13, 20187 yr by Bernard
July 24, 20214 yr So it’s probably happening so: Rosa’s or Layne’s for lunch Messina Hof for Happy Hour Capri or Republic for dinner
July 24, 20214 yr There has never been a better time to don your burnt orange in Brazos County than right fucking now. LOLz. They are the miserable ones. Might as well help push them over the edge a little.

April 4, 20223 yr Looks like I'll be out there for several days for depositions this month. Any other decent food recs?
April 4, 20223 yr I have UT plates on my car and I go there pretty frequently to visit my son, DIL, and grandson. I'm always kind of shocked when my car doesn't get keyed.

Twin Peaks has a better than average Bourbon selection and COLD beer. Excellent scenery as well. Most of the time, I end up at Hooters, though. The wife and I once had an excellent meal at Solt, if you're looking for something a bit more elevated.

April 5, 20223 yr Let me help out here. I am in CS more than I like to be but I like money and I have clients there. Upscale dinning: Republic for steaks Solt for fusion 1860 or Amico nave for italian. Lunch: 3rd and main for burgers salads etc Fuego for tacos. Think Torchy's but better Top of the hill for burgers Breakfast: Jesse's. Best breakfast taco I have ever had. No kidding Sweet Paris for crepes etc. For mexican you are kind of out of luck. I have tried all of them and they all are marginal at best. Any other questions let me know. I am sure I missed something, especially places to potentially avoid.
