August 24Aug 24 I'm gonna go out on a limb, just bear with me here: If we score more points than they do, we'll win. Otherwise we lose.

August 24Aug 24 I met this guy on a cruise ship wearing an OSU shirt. I asked how the game was gonna turn out and he just shuddered. He would not make any prediction. He said....you might not know it, but if the OSU had not won the National Title, Day would have been fired. I said I doubt that, Day is thought of as a great coach. He said that did not matter, he lost 3 years in a row to Michigan, and you could not do that at OSU. Prick never would tell me how he would predict the game...
August 24Aug 24 This talk of Ohio State's best offensive line has me curious. PFF Grades I could find. Trevor Goosby 80.8 > Ethan Oniawa 69.1 (At Rice) DJ Campbell 68.3 > Carson Himzmam 42.4 Neto Umeozulu (could only find his number against Florida) 70.4 > Austin Siereveld 67.6. Probably some discrepancies due to relying on AI. Maybe this OSU group looking stellar is another casualty of the zero sum nature of fall practice and losing JTT and Sawyer.
August 24Aug 24 I hope we win the toss and Sark takes the ball, and starts the game off by running it down Ohio state’s throats with Baxter and Wisner! Put the nation on notice cause they really playing on our head!!!! I want to take the will out of these boys early!!

The grades of their returning Olinemen are not good. I think you could throw Hutson in there as far confidence level. On paper there isn’t a reason for them to be so confident. Think it was Montgomery that did best against us as far as there returnees. Let’s assume the Minnesota guy starts. If I’m remembering correctly our projected Ts have more plays at T than theirs do. Hinzman and Hutson have similar play counts. Campbell has more than any Olineman. Tegra T is 2nd on OSU with 850 plays and graded out at 58.
August 24Aug 24 Simmons should have at least 2 sacks this game. He will be flying, maybe too fast but you know he’s going to be coming.

Yet people talk about our OL being inexperienced and they are hyping theirs up as a strength for them. We’ll find out in 6 days.

We will see if those guys working together on the 2nd team breeds some familiarity too. When your Oline turns over, this is pretty much the ideal scenario. It’d be more concerning if it were last years OSU DLine. They aren’t anymore blue blooded or experienced than we are.

August 24Aug 24 tOSU is going to devote all of their attention on Simmons, which will free up our other pass rushing studs. Sayin will get a Vasektomy
August 24Aug 24 Sayin won’t be able to do shit, only screens and sideways passes (for negative yards). Their star WR is overrated. Won’t be able to do shit. That one DB? Gonna be like that sooner fuck from last year: a non issue. 28-17 Horns win.
August 24Aug 24 Bobby had an OSU guy on that said this might be an all time great OL. I’m not sure if that’s where all this is coming from. The guy seemed like one of the biggest homers I’ve listened to. It don’t make a shit, we’re gonna fuck them up.
August 24Aug 24 Popular Post Stolen from Nash on Twitter, but their confidence in their o-line seems unfounded. It reminds me of the hype Michigan’s d-line had going into our game last year. Only four more combined starts while two of our guys have zero. Assuming the last column is snaps then we have more experience at 3670 snaps to their 3312. Our average pff grade is 66.4 to their 58.66. The left tackle transfer from Rice they banked on claiming a starting job wasted all the reps during spring and the first two weeks of fall camp before Day realized he wasn’t good enough leading to a reshuffle. On top of that their edge and interior d-line group took a big step back and has zero depth. It seems more likely that both are average (for a blue blood) rather than elite.

August 24Aug 24 I'm pretty concerned about OL for this game. Particularly tackle with injuries and depth. Best case scenario Goosby is able to play (effectively) hurt. But I think our D should be the real deal this year. Heading into the week, I'm leaning 20-17 horns with a defensive score.

Also, I don’t think we are emphasizing enough that Ohio state is replacing both coordinators. Remember when we used to do that every year? It’s not exactly a recipe for success. Especially in game one.

Been lurking the past week or two to get a handle on camp happenings but I had to reset my password and log in after what's evidently been six months to rep this. Hilarious but accurate. Texas and Ohio State are more similar than different in profile, and while it's a boring vanilla take, the game is probably going to be decided on the margins - who wins field position, has fewer procedural penalties, makes FGs, and avoids that disastrously boneheaded turnover that proves to be a 14 point swing. I frankly don't have a hard time buying the idea that Texas (or Ohio State for that matter) will have OL issues but I'd rather be Texas at QB. I'm sure Sayin is going to be really good over the course of his career but we're still talking about a RS FR taking his first real college snaps against a third year QB who's started a couple games. That's as likely as anything else to be the difference. I don't have a strong feel for who's going to win one way or the other, but I expect a low scoring and often ugly game with both defenses winning decisively. Now that I've said that, it'll probably be 45-42.

August 25Aug 25 I expect this game to be ugly and low scoring. I think our offensive line (even with Goosby) is in for some growing pains, and I personally don’t think our receivers are particularly dynamic this year unless Wingo makes a huge leap (which is possible). QB play should be an immediate upgrade. On the flip side, our defense is going to fuck people up.

August 25Aug 25 Browsing their boards, OSU groupthink gives these units the edge: QB-Push. They don’t think Arch is ready and they refer to him as Archie. OL-Push to OSU is better. A few did actually say they have the best OL in the sport. I thought that might have just been some homer 995 guy but they seem to be buying it. RB-TX. I didn’t see hardly anyone saying otherwise. WR-OSU. Not surprising. TE—OSU. DL-TX LB-OSU. Interesting this isn’t even being debated. DB-OSU S-OSU They’re extremely confident, but the idea that QB is a push is laughable. I think Sayin is good, and I think their game plan will be to get the ball out quick and rely on their run game. But if he has to go to his second or third read they’re in trouble.
