Naomi isn’t at night. 1) Coco feels less pressure playing during the day and she has already broken down on court at least once this tournament. 2) It’s Labor Day. 3) The day temperatures are mild this year. 4) Day matches help keep your routine closer to normal vs the late US Open matches. Coco is US Tennis’ chosen one. They want to do whatever they can to help keep her in the tournament and Coco likely requested the day session. I expect Naomi to win.
September 1Sep 1 I have never seen Feliz A-A play this well. On the other court… De Minaur is a vanilla menace. He is so good at covering the court, fast reflexes and fast movement, but almost no personality. He just made a wrist flick return from the baseline that barely cleared the net and landed just inside the sideline and his opponent, who was approaching the net in a position of power could barely get to it to knock it wide. No interaction with the crowd regarding how great that was …And his opponent just double faulted to end the match. De Minaur has the game to be a major personality / draw on tour, but you would never guess that he was even in the Top 32, much less the Top 10.
September 1Sep 1 Coco cannot find her forehand today. This is an ugly match for her. Hopefully she doesn't cry on court again

Also, when these two idiots announcers (Evert & Bozo) say that SERENA was the trend setter of having a baby and coming back to the tour, they are basically shitting all over Kim Clijsters’ 3 grand slams she won as a mother. 👩 👉 💩💩💩 🏆🏆🏆
September 1Sep 1 1) Bose commercials with Coco and Ben Shelton… Bose Jinx? Both out before the quarterfinals. 2) Kostyuk’s firm behind stomps Muchova 7-0 in the 2nd set tiebreaker. 🎾🇺🇦🫶🍑🤌🤌🤌

I saw him beat Zverev about four years ago and thought he would burst onto the scene as the Next Big Thing. Not sure what happened but he finally seems to be playing reasonably well. 1 hour ago, TonyTexas said: Gauff is such a head case. Sometimes we forget how young these athletes are. I'm guessing Arch is well grounded but all the pressure of the last month probably didn't help him this weekend. Edited September 1Sep 1 by Bullneck

September 2Sep 2 I watched the Coco vs Osaka match. With Osaka up 5-3 in the first set, ESPN showed a stat indicating Osaka had hit every forehand cross court except for 2. As the match progressed, I noticed she was hitting the forehands to both sides. I also saw Coco try to run around her forehand to hit a backhand and then be out of position for the next shot (repeatedly). It was a complete dismantling of Coco's forehand. I give huge props to Osaka!!!! Coco hired the coach that fixed the second serve woes of Tigress. I didn't notice her serve being a huge issue but maybe that was because of the forehand failure. Either way, that coach has some work to do.
September 2Sep 2 Did anyone watch Pegula vs Krejcikova today? I saw the score, but was it a case of Jessica being locked in? Or was Barbora just not herself today? Also, saw most of the 3rd set of Álcaraz vs Lehecka. Carlos was like a video game character with a video game playing savant holding the 🎮 in his hands. Some of the shots were simply not human.
September 2Sep 2 Venus and Fernandez getting their asses kicked. Complete 180 from yesterday’s great match.

September 3Sep 3 Vondrousova wanted none of that smoke. Rough day for the CzechsYep. And Muchova seems to always be battling injuries. Osaka seems to be in the groove. The Czech run could be coming to a close tomorrow.

I didn’t think that he would get it to deuce, but when he hit it long and Novak had given up on the point after sprinting to the net, it was just obvious he was going to choke.
September 3Sep 3 Fritz pulled to deuce at (I think) 2-2 to break, then flailed at an ace and hit an easy backhand into the net to let Djoker hold. At least he’ll rest easy when Morgan pegs him later tonight. Djoker is incredible to still be at this level. Alcaraz is going to beat him but I’m guessing it won’t be a cakewalk

Pegula played 2 solid sets of tennis. Barbora looked mentally tired. She hit the ball OK but it just seemed she didn't have much left. Her serving numbers were atrocious (42% first serve % and only winning 31% of 2nd serve points). Pegula took advantage of those missed first serves - she won more points on Barbora's serve 34/62. I watched the Alcaraz match as well. Video game savant is a great way to describe the way he is playing right now. I predict Novak calls the doctor out multiple times. I think he did that one time playing Carlos and it got under his skin. He played a set acting like he couldn't hardly move and finished the match getting to everything.
September 3Sep 3 Note - ESPN stats are stupid. Someone needs to tell them that winning 2/3 break points is NOT better than winning 5/9 even though 2/3 is the higher %.

Fritz has no style, no killer instinct. When he walked out and his headband was on upside down, you knew he was cooked. How embarrassing. 0-11 vs Joker. How many more chances can he get?
September 3Sep 3 Fuck IGA and her time wasting. They need to have scheduled bathroom breaks (After the 2nd & 4th sets.) A break after 1 set is total bullshit.
September 3Sep 3 After that net cord winner on game point to go up 4-3, Amanda should have grabbed her crotch and done some hip thrusts at Iga while doing a Gene Simmons thing with her tongue. Update: Iga starts off 0-30 second serve. Edited September 3Sep 3 by Napoleon
