The Defense Department referred questions to the White House. Deputy press secretary Anna Kelly pointed to that comment. That “is why he has prioritized war fighters at the Pentagon instead of DEI and woke ideology,” she said. “Stay tuned!”

Hegseth asked his followers on his personal X account in March about whether they’d prefer having a Department of Defense or Department of War. The majority sided with the latter.

All for it, but not for their reasons. Make politicians tell their constituents they want money for war spending and not defense. Dept of Defense was always a name that made us sound like the victims that need to punch back and not the aggressors we have been. It allowed political parties to grovel for never ending blank checks and pork if their districts had a base or adjacent manufacturing.

That's a good idea!

Let's insanely assume supporters that were wearing I'm Voting For The Felon t shirts were not unapologetic liars who subsequently claimed "I didn't vote for this!" were operating in good faith.

Obviously, I don't wanna go overboard and suggest that the President of the United States would declare (which apparently he can now) a war on Greenland or Chicago or some other foreign land as a tactic to distract from credible evidence he raped a 13 year-old.

That would just be silly.

I do not disagree with this. War department is far more accurate. I mean I don’t like the connection it makes to MAGA because we used to have an actual War Department and this really is just a harkening back to those times…but again, it’s also more honest.

Trump does a lot of shit things, and this is a shit thing in the big picture, but among all his shit things, this thing is the least shit.

Change department to ministry as well to embrace the christofascist kingdomness of it all.

I have a better idea. Rename it the Department of Peace.

How much is going to cost to rebadge and rename everything?
