August 26Aug 26 Only 6 scholarship players on the roster this fall. Hopefully Joffee is able to get 2 big portal additions for the spring
August 26Aug 26 Author I believe the SEC has limited the roster to 9. I'm assuming the 9 are scholarship players and not inclusive of walk ons. True?
August 26Aug 26 I still don’t know what the walk-on restrictions are, but women’s college tennis programs can have 8 scholarship players, and unless Deatherage or Schmeil were granted scholarships (which would be bad news for the health of the program) we have 6 scholarship players with 2 open scholarships

August 26Aug 26 Author Copying from another forum: "with roster limits at 9, you can not afford to carry players that are not capable of competing in the SEC. Ah good to know! Yep that would definitely change things. I was thinking maybe it was 9 players with any sort of scholarship money, and then walk ons on top of that" 3 good quality additions would help this team out!
August 28Aug 28 I had forgotten about Ionescu since she's listed as a 2026 recruit, but she'll be here spring of 2026. Sometimes with spring recruits there can be some eligibility delays, but hopefully she can get here in January and begin playing immediately. That means we still could sign one more player between now and January for the spring season.

But I think she only played in three matches last year (so not sure if she is a scholarship player). She used to hit with my younger son when she was in high school and he was getting ready for freshman tryouts. Also, you have a near 8 UTR? That's pretty good for a Surly poster. Yeah, my UTR hovers between 7.4 and 7.8 Anyways, we now have our 8th and final scholarship player for the spring season.
September 26Sep 26 Author Carmen Herea defeats the #10 ranked player at the ITA All American tournament to move onto the Quarterfinals. She's now guaranteed a spot in Orlando at the NCAA Tennis Singles, Doubles Championships in November!
November 20Nov 20 Carmen Herea is into the quarter finals of the NCAA individual singles tournament! She plays a tough match tomorrow against UNC’s Reese Brantmeier.
November 20Nov 20 Author Brantmeier has a lot of fight in her in this Championships tournament. Came from behind to win her 1st round. She's beatable. Carmen, UT's lonely All American this Fall, has had a tremendous Fall season thus far! On another note, 2 of UTs ex-players that transferred out, made it to Orlando.

I saw Ashton Bowers lost first round. Who was the other?

November 20Nov 20 Okay I see Char is only in the doubles draw which is why I missed her. Texas didn’t qualify a doubles team this year so I didn’t pay attention to it Edited November 20Nov 20 by perfectchaos007

November 21Nov 21 Herea lost today 6-7, 0-6 to Brantmeier. Herea showed some resilience in the first set being down 5-1 at one point, but after losing a handful of set points and being assessed a point penalty for several bad calls, she lost the set and then completely unraveled in the second set. Hopefully she learns from this

I bet her parents donated a fortune to OU athletics to get her on the team Edited December 10Dec 10 by perfectchaos007
December 15Dec 15 Bianca Turati likely helped us land this recruit. Her 11.10 UTR makes her the best player on our roster based on the UTR metric. A welcome addition to the squad Edited December 15Dec 15 by perfectchaos007
