These in-season foreign transfers in men's and women's college hoops are so ridiculous.

WTF?

You can add players all year as long as they aren't committed to a US school?

So if we have a player go down we can just pickup a player from overseas to fill in for the year?

You have to get them accepted to school, clear the NCAA clearinghouse and all of that, but yes. There's also no guarantee she will be anything more than depth or a practice body, depending on how long it takes her to pick up Staley's system, her conditioning, balancing school and ball, etc.

Most schools who do this specifically target midseason (between semesters) - you can't enroll a foreign player in like, February.

She's part of the top league in French basketball, so the learning curve might not be too steep, but the biggest question is of course, acclimating to your new coach's system.  Vic could never, because there's no way someone coming in midseason would meet his conditioning requirements or understand his defensive system.

Her mom played at CU and in the WNBA (Cleveland Rockers) when the league started.

This is probably for more late-season depth than an immediate impact.  Dauda and Tac got recruited over.

I mean I’m not clamoring to be #1 but still…

TO BE FAIR -

We did struggle with SDSU for like half the game and UConn blew Iowa's back out.

UConn fans on their board don't seem that optimistic about Sara Okeke anymore. And an On3 article says South Carolina is not on her final list. Though I'm sure the French gal they just signed is the reason why.

She would be the missing piece of the 2026 recruiting class puzzle for Vic.

Gamecocks are taking 14-0 Bama to the proverbial woodshed, 76-48 with 5 minutes left.

I’ll give them credit for actually scheduling and beating a Q1 team, but Bama’s 14 wins include 12 Q3 and 4 teams. Only 8 of South Carolina’s wins are Q3/4
