November 28Nov 28 How much is the Texas share of the “NIL donation” going to the teams in this tournament?

November 28Nov 28 Love Jordan Lee 's post game interview. Very mature, and no signs of complacency. Points to the mindset and culture Vic has built. "What kind of statement did y'all make over the past two days?" "No statement really. We went out and performed, but we know we're not a finished product and we're going to continue to grow and get better throughout the year"

You know the opponent will be better in March, you better plan on working so you're better then, too.

As Booker dove to get a loose ball, Betts reached in and her arm got pinned. The "takedown" was purely an accident due to Betts' own action.

November 28Nov 28 Author Players Era results and analysis No. 4 Texas 66, No. 2 South Carolina 64 The SEC schedule has the Longhorns and Gamecocks slated to play only once during the regular season (Jan. 15 in Columbia). So their matchup in Thursday's championship game of the Players Era event was a bonus. And it did not disappoint. Two of the best teams in the country played like it and solidified their status as favorites for No. 1 NCAA tournament seeds. Rori Harmon's pullup jumper with 0.7 seconds left won it for Texas, which is now firmly established as the No. 2 team in the country behind UConn Huskies after beating two top-five teams in Las Vegas (the Longhorns beat No. 3 UCLA Bruins on Wednesday). Madison Booker came alive for the Longhorns in the fourth quarter, scoring 8 of her 16 points, as Texas came back from an 8-point deficit late in the third period. South Carolina, led by Joyce Edwards' 16 points, will now slot in at No. 3 overall in Bracketology, which will be fully updated on Tuesday.

Duke might win it, but at the moment they're staring 3-5 in the face and not scaring many folks. Watching them play, I'm not even sure what I'd say their strength is.

November 28Nov 28 I let my kids talk me into turning the game off and switching to the new Stranger Things episodes when Texas went down by 8 in the 3rd. That’s probably what spurred the turnaround. Great news to discover this morning though. It sucks that Crump is going to be out for a while. Looks like they can still beat anybody without her though.

November 28Nov 28 Congrats to the ladies on the win last night. My tv is programmed to get TruTV only in March so I had to find a pirated feed to watch 4th qtr.
November 28Nov 28 Do we know the nature or timetable involving the current injuries on the team - Crump, Preston, Judd?
November 28Nov 28 I understand UConn is really good, but beating #3 UCLA and #2 SCar should put Texas at #1, in my (biased) opinion. It doesn't mean a damn thing, though.

I know Chip Brown said earlier this week that he expects Preston to be out “a couple of weeks” Judd was a fractured kneecap. 6-8 weeks, so I think she won’t be back until end of December No idea on Crump. November 28Nov 28 So UNC on Thursday and at Baylor on the 15th are the only challenging matchups left this calendar year/noncon. Hopefully we can manage minutes in the other games with bench players(though it seems like with Vic either you can play or you can’t) and have starters fresh for those games plus at least Preston back?
November 28Nov 28 Author Yeah. We have 5 guards who get significant minutes, but 3 right now. I don’t see Prenter playing much except in blowouts. She’s still adjusting to D1 ball at the American level. Asbrink Hose is redshirting. So everyone available is playing significant minutes. I wish we had used a 14th scholarship on one more guard in the offseason
November 28Nov 28 Author The ability of Harmon, Booker, Lee and when she comes back, Crump, to hit those middies is why I don’t worry about our paint game being as strong as last year with Jones. -10 in points in the paint yesterday, but we hit those mid range pull-ups so well. But we outrebounded a tall, physical SC team Edited November 28Nov 28 by Js1

Let's hope Crump is OK and that Preston can be back to 100% soon. Getting Judd cleared for at least spot duty before SEC play also would help relieve some of the demand on starters now playing monster minutes. Carlton was tremendous against a huge front line yesterday, and Sidberry had some good plays. It's going to take all of them, especially when the inevitable dings to starters occur.

FTs were a huge part of why we won it, and full credit to our ladies for making them. But playing such relentless D with a short bench always makes me worry about FTs, as fatigue makes every late-game shot harder. Here's hoping that's less of a concern going forward.
November 29Nov 29 I ran into Madison and Blair Schaefer at DKR before the game last night and briefly talked with them about how awesome this week was for them. They are even better people than players/coaches and am so thankful for them.
November 29Nov 29 I wish there was more info on Crump. Rori, Maddie and Jordan will hit a wall if they keep having to play the whole game. Judd should be close to being able to play.
