Last year Richmond held us to 65 points and only an 11 point margin (65-54)

85 this year and 29 point margin

pure class.

So what does the whore in BR get out of beating a glorified HS 120-20? I would be embarrassed. Even IWU beat some teams last year as bad as Texas beat IWU. Do you think Vic would ever schedule those teams so he could beat someone 120-20??

And, BTW, with just average FT shooting Texas scores 90+ last night. I think Richmond was a little intimidated playing in Moody though. Especially after Crump busted their best players nose. Don't Mess With Texas.

Same 4 guard starting lineup. I’m really glad Vic has embraced it over the lineup with a more traditional power forward. Best lineup has to include Lee, Harmon, Book and Crump

No FGs for ULL in over 7.5 minutes

FTs continue to be a problem (8-14)

Hard to stay focused when you're trouncing a team, but let's see some offensive execution in this quarter.

Neither team has hit a 3 (Texas 0-3, ULL 0-4)

Book had one taken away and changed to a 2

That also wasn't very impressive by UCLA against an OU team that isn't known for playing defense

I am QUITE looking forward to November 26

Chavez’s defense is not good. She wouldn’t  have seen the floor much here with a defensive effort like that. And 25% shooting doesn’t cut it, either.
It will be interesting to see how much she improves before we play them in January.

Just for something to chew on:

Chavez - 13.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 4.0 apg, 26.5% FG, 16.7% 3PFG

Crump - 13.7 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 2.0 apg, 47.1% FG, 25% 3PFG

Plus, Chavez is averaging 34.5 minutes per game compared to Crump's 22.2 minutes per game. It seems Crump is more efficient in her minutes played, given that her production is equal to or better than Chavez in the categories you cited.

All in all, I like our Aaliyah better.

Ditto

She's going to be a good one.

Chavez's rebounds are higher because she plays more minutes and her assists are higher because she plays more of the 1/2 guard.  Crump plays the 3/4 for us, oftentimes along side our true facilitator (Harmon), our backup facilitator (Booker) and Lee.  She doesn't have to focus on assisting, but she's doing a damn good job.

She seemed to be locked on Smiley last night.  Somebody recognized that mismatch …

For now, at least, Chavez is who she is: a mad gunner who will fill the stat sheet largely through heavy usage. She's uber-talented and skilled, but while watching her miss like mad vs. Belmont (5-18 FGs) and again vs. UCLA, I can't see her as a perfect fit for Vic's system. Playing with her, you'd better be a great offensive rebounder like Beers to get yours.

Chavez made 7 out of 10 of her 3 point attempts tonight. I assume she was wide open on most of those attempts, but shit if Texas could make 70% of their FTs this season I would take it.

Someone made 7 threes and they only scored 89 points on something called UMKC?

I feel like if someone on our team hit 7 threes, we scored 130 points

Yea their pant play is impressive.

Not athletic like a S.Carolina or LSU but very efficient as well as being a veteran team

One thing about WCBB girls' is its tiers. There are about 3-5 teams in the country that are just better than everyone else on any given year. I believe it's like that this season and it's so obvious imo.

I hope Cunningham and Smiley are ready to run her ass until she pukes. It’s not like we haven’t seen Smiley literally grab a rebound, run the break and finish.

Gonna need to get Betts grasping her shorts by the 2nd Q.  Run run run

And close out all their shooters. Kneepkins (ugh) and Dugalic especially

Lizzy Spaight is going to be an intriguing PG addition to our squad. Roughly Rori's size, with tremendous handles and quickness. Apparently a strong leader, too.

Never mind the ridiculous hyping by the narrator...just watch the girl deal.

That’s why I bet on this team. Vic presses non stop against the worst teams in the country and challenges calls.
