November 26Nov 26 Author Texas knocks off UCLA, 76-65 Onto the Players Champ game tomorrow against SoCar or Duke
November 26Nov 26 Author Betts only had 8 points and 7 boards. Texas was not gonna let Lauren beat us Breya and Kyla did a hell of a job Edited November 26Nov 26 by Js1
November 26Nov 26 To quick a turnaround to have Preston and Crump back I suppose. Damn, we won without those two. Vic with the feels.

Texas S&C needs to get the massage tables and ice baths ready for our shorthanded team to have a chance tomorrow. Don’t discount how ugly Duke can make games. This tournament has 3 premier defensive coaches in Vic, Dawn and Kara
November 26Nov 26 Rori was the only Texas player to make a FG in the 4th quarter. Without her, we definitely lose this game. The rest of the team had no energy left. Edited November 26Nov 26 by perfectchaos007

Booker’s shot was off/she was being swarmed and they weren’t giving Lee any looks

The rest of the team had no energy left. For whatever reason, the question of whether we can count on Booker to score late in games lingers. She's often a far better offensive player before halftime than after. Same shots taken, and not always against tighter D, but different results. I don't know if it's fatigue or more mental (likely the former), but if I see it, I'm sure opponents also do. Fortunately, Rori saved us today.

November 26Nov 26 USCe is long and they get a lot of second chance points. We'll need our 2 bigs to fight for those rebounds tomorrow.

Jesus Started off short handed Duke women's basketball's Emma Koabel will miss the 2025-26 season due to a knee injury. The status of freshman Arianna Roberson, who suffered an offseason injury, is progressing but the coaching staff is still mindful of her workload and it's unclear if there are any minute restrictions for her early in the season. Emma Koabel: Will miss the entire 2025-26 season with a knee injury sustained while playing for Team Canada. Arianna Roberson: Suffered a season-ending injury in the offseason and is still working her way back. While her recovery is progressing and she is practicing, her workload is being carefully managed, and it's uncertain if she will have a minute restriction at the start of the season.

November 26Nov 26 We've got to get over the South Carolina hump. I thought this would be the year with Kitts and Watkins out, but with Bryanna and Aaliyah out tomorrow that's going to be a heavy lift for this game. Later in the year though we've got the fire-power to compete, the addition of Crump and the development of Lee has me optimistic. Lee is going to be a difference maker this year - pure shooter, aggressive and tough. This is our year.
November 27Nov 27 Author I assume regardless of outcome, we will be #3 in next week’s poll. We would have a legit argument for #1 if we sweep UCLA/SoCar

November 27Nov 27 Author Players Era results and analysis Texas 76, UCLA 65 In a game expected to provide some answers in determining which team lines up behind UConn as the second best in the country, Texas stepped forward. Early on, the Longhorns looked headed for a runaway win after a dominant opening two quarters and 20-point lead at halftime. But UCLAmade a run in the fourth quarter that left the game in doubt into the final minute. Rori Harmon led a stifling first-half defense that held a UCLA team averaging 82.8 points per game to 25 -- then made big plays late that helped the Longhorns hang on. She finished with 26 points to go with five assists. This was the first real test for Texas, which entered the game with an average margin of victory of 53.6 points. UCLA entered the matchup ranked third in the AP poll and as the No. 2 team in the latest Bracketology -- ahead of Texas in both instances -- and already has wins over Oklahoma and North Carolina on its résumé. Texas will certainly overtake the Bruins in both rankings following this win, which gives the Longhorns breathing room in their bid for a No. 1 seed. UCLA will stay on the top line for now, but its margin for error isn't as great -- and Thursday's consolation game will determine whether the Bruins stay there.
November 27Nov 27 I'm thinking UCLA will handle Duke easily enough. That second game never really seemed to be in doubt. If Betts plays as expected, she should score and rebound at will.

November 27Nov 27 I know they were ranked 4th in the preseason polls but doesn't it seem like this team was underrated? Returning 6 players from a final four team that played significant minutes and several good transfers.

UConn is the defending champs - basically auto #1 and playing the part Could have put any of South Carolina/UCLA/Texas at 2-4. Kind of went lazy and ranked them how they finished the season last year lol Champ Runner-up 2 Final Four losers

UCLA although experienced and smart isn’t the most athletic team. Remember when Vic first got here and his teams were tough and physical but not really talented or athletic. Yea, UCLA and we blitzed them with our speed and athleticism. USCe is the other end of the spectrum, littered with athletes and talent to go along with physical play, so this is a different type of team. We won’t blitz them with our speed , since they have just as much. If not more. I do think we have a better chance than 41% though
November 27Nov 27 Author Plus Staley is one of the top 2 coaches in the sport right now. Close couldn’t coach her way out of an Arby’s bag. Horrible talent developer and game strategist
November 28Nov 28 South Carolina is one of the most annoying teams to play because of the refs. Already 4 fouls to 0 and this is nothing new. Staley bitches all game and gets calls.
