I do volunteer work for Beto's campaign (surprise!). I get called a "libtard" on a regular basis and get a lot of responses that are just "#MAGA!" and the like, but I also hear a lot of "who is Beto?"

I don't think we've seen any election day votes from either. I'm still puzzled by what the hell Nate Cohn was tweeting about.

Yeah, me too.

Of the 36k L party votes, 28k of them came from Travis County.

Harris only 16% in

Carville said that too. Not true. The early vote is in but not today's which is keeping hope alive.

Travis County is reporting only the early vote too and with 100,000 votes today, there is hope.

It seems like all of the Cruz counties are trickling in and the big Beto counties are on hold: Dallas, Travis, Harris, El Paso...

Please link me to the most up to date senate numbers. Right now I am seeing everything from 10% reporting to 50% reporting.

CNN not calling it yet.

Saying there’s still lots of dem areas outstanding.

That's a bummer.

There is a difference between precincts reporting in and % of vote total reporting in (which is an estimate) . So the precincts reporting in is still pretty low but given how much EV there was almost 80% of the predicted vote is in....

Google "Texas Senate Race 2018" and Google will live feed you the numbers. Shows 21% reporting.

Beto did well but just a bit short apparently.

Seems early with a lot of Dallas, Harris, Bexar and Travis votes.

Beto ran a great race.  Speaking platitudes instead of his actual policies.

Good job. Good effort.

This race had no business being this close.

Texas is turning purple and it's great.

Go back to not paying attention for two years, vote R again in 2020, post a similar meme when your folks beat the people that study the issues again. Wash rinse repeat.

does seem a little early to be called but god damnit man.  Cruz is a piece of shit

He couldn’t really focus on his policies.  Because the vast majority of Texans disagree.  He had to focus on being cool, skateboarding and driving his truck around Texas.

I think Beto would have taken it had he pivoted a little more to the center.  Some center right folks like me voted for him from the standpoint of principles over policy but there were A LOT out there he could have turned if he would have been more moderate.   I don't think that was an accident.  He stayed liberal probably because that's who he is AND that's who he knows he needs to be to compete in a democratic primary.

I hate the guy. But the country is better off with him as senator than Beto. That is all that counts.

With 1 - 1.5m votes left, seems a bit early to call it given that the Dem cities haven't reported much.  But perhaps these news agencies have exit polls that show that election day ran red today.

Losing to Ted Cruz is like coming in second in the Special Olympics.

NYT is still showing Bexar, Hays, Williamson, and Harris County as only 1 precinct reporting, which is the EV.
