While sark wasn’t good this is really mostly in arch. 2 minutes ago, Derka said: sark could not be any worse at 4th down play calling. the sheer volume of 4th and short/4thband medium failures over the last 2+ seasons is sickening. They wouldn’t have needed 4th down at all with better QB play. I’m hoping arch is better next week and through the season 2 minutes ago, HRSchenker said: Mildly competent QB play and we win this game 35-14. We out rushed them but abandoned what worked so we could run inside and end possessions. Sark failed. Sark did but mainly because his qb failed him. sark has his blame for 4th down calls. Should have kicked FGs and they might be tied. but the real culprit is the QBs inaccuracy

August 30Aug 30 Get the L out of the way early, I guess. The uni's looked nice. Except for the part where the names fell off. Watergirl was spot on, love the effort. Red Zone offense was ... you know, keep trying. But not those plays. All in all, I'm glad I have beer.

Ewers with this running game wins fairly easily. That was an absolutely horrific QB performance. He makes a dead simple throw to Wingo and we are tied.
August 30Aug 30 We lost. Congrats to OSU. But we're just kicking off 2025 season. Props to both teams for scheduling a game like this in Week 1 OMG! Long way to go!
August 30Aug 30 We will be fine over the long haul. Ohio st had two losses last year and won it all when it mattered most. Overall the defense is gonna keep us in every game and manning will improve game to game. If it was 35-7 I’d be way more worried. We aren't Ohio State though.
August 30Aug 30 2 minutes ago, GabrielsHorn said: I don’t know how you can watch the game and the throws Arch made and blame this on Sark. That was a Garrett Gilbert esque performance. I watched what happened when we ran the ball 4 times up the middle inside the 10. Don't forget that series of shitty calls. Plenty to blame on Arch, but Sark is fucking Mid and the game plan on offense was bad.
August 30Aug 30 A bad opener but a lot to work on. Really the biggest concerns I have even more than Manning is Sarkisian obviously. That was the first big game for Manning, he will be better (also of course reinforces how stupid everyone who said Ewers was an average college QB is). But our offense overall is now showing repeated issues for 3 years running. That's on the coach, of course. Lot for him to figure out in 3 weeks.

August 30Aug 30 Arch looked scared. What the fuck happened to him this off season? He was always so confident, even brash last season.
August 30Aug 30 Just now, futureman said: making a couple throws when it counted would have won us the game pretty easily. ewers could have done that no problem. I mean we watched Ewers repeatedly not do that but ok

August 30Aug 30 I guess we have a solid ass defense, lost on the road to top 5 team at the very start of the season instead of towards the end, and have some games where hopefully Arch can get his shit together more. Or should i start writing out my will and finding a tall cliff?

August 30Aug 30 I know Manning didn’t have a good game but our receivers didn’t help him much. The pornstache kid had the best catch after dropping a catchable ball.

August 30Aug 30 Probably one of those we win by 2 scores if this was the 2nd game of the season. ….assuming this turns out to be a preseason game for arch and needed 4 quarters to get in a game flow and isn’t who he really is.

August 30Aug 30 manning's throwing motion has not changed at all. I swear some of y'all don't watch the games.
August 30Aug 30 1 minute ago, Dbeasy said: Arch didn’t look good. But Sark really had a poor game plan and scheme and in game play calling. He even was requiring Arch to make some tough throws. Compare that to Quinn last year where Quinn had a bunch of easy throws. This loss is 80% on Sark the OC and 20% on Arch and the team. He gave Arch plenty of easy throws. He couldn't complete them.
August 30Aug 30 This game actually encourages me. We have a good defense again. We can run the ball reasonable well against top talent. Arch will come along. The game is too fast for him now. He will improve. Sark is just Sark. He is what he is. He turned the program around and he’s what we’re going to have for a while so get used to him. Clamoring for an OC is a waste of breath. I don't think Sark was good but we pretty clearly don't have the same skill position talent we did the past 2 seasons. I have nothing bad to say about Arch. He very obviously gets it - he just needs more reps.

August 30Aug 30 not to be a sunshine pumper but the defending champions playing at home wasnt much better. if that was a top 5 team then the competition aint looking that hot. texas hopefully can shake this first game jitters off.

August 30Aug 30 First road game start for Arch went about as poorly as it could have. At least they have 3 cupcakes coming to get right
August 30Aug 30 2 minutes ago, UTEE97 said: Sark is showing some Mack like tendencies in big games and Arch is no VY. I think that’s Sark doing. remember when Mack said he had to let Vince be Vince?? Think Sark held Arch back from running and made him a pocket QB which he’s not. Think Sark needs to swallow his fucking pride and let Arch play
August 30Aug 30 Hopefully Arch learns from this, settles down, and takes a big step forward in future games. The whole preseason Heisman favorite thing was ridiculous -- nobody with such a limited body of work should have been considered the Heisman favorite and it placed even more pressure on him (after already having a ton of pressure with his name, being the star recruit, taking over from Ewers, etc.) He was pretty bad in the first half, but did improve in the second half (though he still had multiple shitty throws, including the pick and that last attempt to Wingo), which is mildly encouraging. At least in the second half he started making some big-time throws mixed in with the lousy ones. He'll get better. Sark deserves criticism as well. Terrible playcalling in goal line. Way too vanilla in the first half.
August 30Aug 30 The offensive play calling was abysmal. Once again, Sark starts slow and stays slow until the team is trailing for more than one score. No improvement since last year. Should consider returning to the bottle.

August 30Aug 30 This was a very winnable game if we knew how to call a play in the red zone FuckBucks aren’t great.

It’s not okay but they’ll hopefully learn from it.
August 30Aug 30 Jaggy being our end zone threat speaks very poorly of Wingo. The star WR at Texas can't just be a reverse gadget guy
August 30Aug 30 Now we got homes games at SJSU, UTEP, and Sam Houston, two of which are day games. Yipeeeeeee!
